77 6. Restrictions & Precautions The restrictions and precautions for use of this product are described hereinafter

78 6.1 Restrictions Common restrictions and precautions The common restrictions and precautions are described hereinafter. (1) Retry The timer start timing of the retry time that is set with "Configuration setting" tab is not from the backup start time, but from the point of connection error. (Note 1) For example, if the transfer setup time check =30(sec.) and the retry time of "Configuration setting" tab =60(sec.), the actual retry time in case a connection error is detected starting backup from 23:50:00 is not 23:51:00, but 23:51:30. Even if not connected to the MELSEC at the time of backup, when the MELSEC maintenance computer is turned OFF->ON before reaching the retry time, retry is not executed. The setting information (retry time/count) is re-read, and backing up is not executed until the next schedule time. This operation is the same in case "Backup Tool" is exited->started from the icon and also in case the schedule is stopped->started by the button operation. Note 1: The time up to connection error detected is the time set in the "Time Check (sec.)" of the Transfer setup screen (See " Fig. 3-7 Transfer setup".) (2) Time of save folder The save folder date is the "schedule execution scheduled date" even the backup completion time is the next day. For example, though the time with date, Feb. 17, 2014, 23:50, is specified, if the obtaining completion is Feb. 18, 2014, 00:20, the date folder is " ". However, if 24 hours are passed, it is the backup implement action day. For example, if the obtaining completion is Feb. 18, 2014, 23:51, though the time with date, Feb. 17, 2014, 23:50, is specified, the date folder is " "

79 (3) Backup target memory The relationship between the MELSEC real machine drive (memory) and the save-possible file is as shown below. In addition, the relationship between the backup target and non-target, in the save folder, is as listed below. The device comment can be specified by the user, on the backup setting. File Drive Program Memory Standard ROM Standard RAM Card(RAM) Note 1: Card(ROM) Note 2: Program/Parameter O X X X X Device comment O O X O O Device initial value O O X O O File register X X O O O Device memory O X X X X O:Backup target X:Out of backup target Note 1:For Card(RAM), it is described as "Memory Card (RAM)" on the GX Developer/GX Works2. Note 2:For Card(ROM), it is described as "Memory Card (ROM)" (or "Memory Card (SD)") on the GX Developer/GX Works2. (4) Data retention period The data retention period and capacity are not especially limited. It depends on the disk capacity. However, in deleting the file due to disk capacity problem, etc., it can be deleted through the Windows Explorer. (When the disk remaining quantity is less than 1GB, the file is not saved.) (5) Maintenance computer shutdown Do not carry out shutdown during backup running. (Otherwise, the backup data is indefinite.) In order to shut down the maintenance system computer, stop the schedule, or confirm that the current state displays "Next Schedule Wait" in advance. (6) Device setting change If the PLC parameter "Device Setting" of the backup target MELSEC is changed, re-implement the "Connection Setting"-"Read" in backup setting and re-create the setting information. (See "3.3.4 MELSEC setting".) (7) Password setting/remote password setting The MELSEC memory with password setting or remote password setting made cannot be backed up

80 (8) Bit device backup range If the latch specified range of the bit device is not 16 point unit, the latch-specified range back and forth part is to be backed up in 16 point unit. For example, if the latch specified is from B1000 to B1099, the backup range is from B992 to B1103.
