3 Welcome to MyDoorView! Please read the below information to ensure proper operation. 1: Installation Summary - The MyDoorView software must be used in conjunction with any (brand of) telephone entry unit (TEU) and any one of three available IP encoder manufacturers can be used: ACTI, Hikvision and AXIS. Sold separately - Each telephone entry location must have a unique phone number and an IP or port forwarded IP - An account for each property is required, to create the account go to click on the Accounts page fill in all fields. Once completed each telephone entry unit will be assigned a unique location code - The resident will need to download the free app from Google play or app store, fill out the short form and press submit - Upon submission each resident will be assigned a VOIP number, this number will replace the resident phone number in the data base. This number will be displayed on the app after submitting and be accessible in the app if needed later on - Upon submission, the main account holder (property manager) will receive an with the submitted form data, the VOIP number and the ability to approve or deny the resident - The property manager will also have access to the admin site to manage the account, residents, etc - Minimum required internet connection speed is 3mbps upload - Resident phones should have a strong data connection through their provider or be on a wifi connection NOTE: Public use wifi is a less than ideal connection. 3

4 2: Installation / Settings Guide 2.1 Each TEU requires: - A unique phone number - Static IP or- port forwarded static IP or- DDNS - A camera - A video encoder (Hikvision, ACTi or Axis) Note: all hardware sold seperatley. 2.2 To create the account go to - When you have completed the registration you will be given a location code for each telephone entry. - Make sure the IP address correlates with the phone number for that TEU. 2.3 ACTi Encoder Settings Download IP Utility from This will help you locate the dynamic IP for programming. - IP Utility will show you the IP address x.xx. Copy and paste into Internet Explorer. - The encoder User and Password is admin

5 2.3.2 Video & Audio - Video & Audio> Video> Select MJPEG - both streams (H.264 will not work) - Frame rate 30 both streams - Apply - Audio> Audio In> Select Disabled - Apply 5

6 2.3.3 IP Settings - IP Setting> Enter IP Address> Connection Type> Static IP Address> - Enter IP, Subnet and Gateway (should be provided by property IT department) - Apply Note: IP address can be assigned static IP or port forwarded static IP Port Mapping - Network> Port Mapping> Match settings below 6

8 2.4 HikVision IP Camera SADP Detection Tool Configuration> Network> Basic Settings Enter settings similar to these Video Stream Stream Type > Sub-stream Video Encoding > MJPEG Save 8

9 2.4.4 Hik-Connect Configuration> Network> Advanced> Platform Access You will need to open an account here to use this free service. Tip: You will need a unique for each camera. We recommend using Hotmail or Gmail. i.e. BreakersLobby@gmail.com Contact HikVision directly for support. Technical Support: tel: techsupport.usa@hikvision.com DDNS Configuration> Network> Settings>DDNS v Basic Check to enable DDNS Select DynDNS Enter camera name Enter provided info Enter provided info Get the DDNS host name from the MDV portal at the account creation page, if assistance is needed support at info@mydoorview.com. Be sure to include the Property Name, camera name and technician s phone number. 9

10 3: Smartphone app: - Download app from Google play or App store - Enter location code - Approve resident in MDV database - Enter virtual number in TEU data base. (The virtual number will only respond to a call from the TEU) 3.1 iphone: - Please complete registration - Settings> scroll down to MyDoorView> the following should be enabled: - Microphone, Background App Refresh, Cellular Data - Back out to <Settings, go to top, go to Cellular - Settings>Cellular> Cell Data should be ON - Scroll down to USE CELLULAR DATA FOR:> MyDoorView, make sure this is ON 3.2 Android: - Please complete registration - Accept all requested permissions - Go to Settings>APPS, scroll to MyDoorView. - App settings: Allow notifications ON On lock screen show content Set as priority ON Apps that can appear on top: ON For best results use WIFI when available. 10

11 4: Desktop VOIP settings: - Open Chrome Browser - Click the three dots on top right corner - Settings - (Scroll to bottom) Show advanced settings - Scroll to Privacy > Click button [Content settings] - Pop ups > Click button [Manage exceptions] - (Scroll to bottom) In box enter - [Done] - Notifications - (Scroll to bottom) In box enter - [Done] - Microphone - (Scroll to bottom) In box enter - [Done] - [Done] - Go to > My Account top right corner > Log in - Enter User Name and Password associated with account, yes to save passwords 11

12 - Click on the three dots in the upper left hand corner > More tools > Add to desktop This will create a stand-alone browser page that will prevent accidental closure. Note: This browser page must remain open for the system to remain operational; the call will only come through to PC s logged in. M Icon will be placed on Desktop. - Up to ten PC s can be logged into this account, first to answer will handle call, all others will go back to stand-by - In TEU data base enter phone number in place of office number Note: First call to PC will ask for permission and not display video, any following will display 12

13 5: Trouble Shooting Guide 5.1 Video - No Video -Static Flashing no video indicates programming issue in MDV account information. Log into account and verify IP, user name and password. -Black Screen indicates encoder programming issue Check settings as noted in quick start guide -OR- weak cellular data signal. 5.2 Audio -Blue Screen indicates problem with camera. Check power and connections. - No Audio on Smart Devic There are no audio settings in the MDV software, check mic setting on your TEU (Telephone Entry Unit). The audio is from the TEU direct to the phone, it does not go through the encoder audio input. Encoder audio should be disabled. - No Audio on Desk top app Check with IT department to make sure audio ports are open usually APP s not launching upon incoming call - Check TEU database to confirm it is dialing VOIP number - Make sure cellular data is on or- wifi is on 6: Technical Support Technical Support Hours 8AM to 8PM EST Monday through Friday (844) INFO@mydoorview.com 13
