3 Accessing the Reporting Portal From the Reporting menu, choose the Reporting Portal option 3

4 Initial Portal Interface This is initial blank portal. Note the reporting-specific menus. 4

5 View the Reporting Domain Tree The Tree is the interface in which you may interact with the reports that have been published by your company s Report Creators. Click the + to expand the tree. Expanding the tree reveals a set of reports organized within folders. Reports can be run by clicking on them. Right-clicking a report name displays a set of options for that report. 5

6 Selecting the Run Option Either clicking the report name, or choosing Run from the right-click menu will run the report and display the results in a new window. 6

7 Selecting Run Deferred Choosing Run Deferred will run submit the report to run in the background, then display a window similar to this. The process for viewing reports that have run in the background is covered in an upcoming slide. 7

8 Managing Favorites Select the Add to Favorites option to include the report in your list of favorites. Click the Favorites menu to view your favorite reports. To remove a report from the list, click the checkbox next to the name, and click the Remove button. 8

9 Viewing Deferred Reports Use the toolbar commands to control the window refresh and report sort options. Use the buttons above to Delete the report from the deferred list, View the results of the report, or Run the report again. Select the Deferred Status option from the Utilities menu to view the reports that have been run in the background. 9

10 Searching for Reports Select the Domain Search option from the Utilities menu to display a search tool. This is most useful if you have many reports published for by your Report Creators. Enter your search criteria on the left side, and click the Search button to view the results. Click the report name to run the report, or right-click for other options. 10

11 Stop Running Reports Select the Stop Requests option from the Utilities menu to halt the execution of any running reports. 11

13 Determine Report Run Interval Select the Schedule option to launch the Scheduling Wizard. Use the Frequency tab to set how often this report should run, including days/weeks and specific time of day. Click the Task tab when you are finished setting up the report frequency. 13

14 Entering Parameters For reports with input parameters, click on the parameter name to enter the value that will be used when the report is run. Click the Distribution tab when you are finished entering parameter data. 14

15 Setting Report Distribution Select Single Address from the selection options, and enter the address of where the report results should be sent upon completion. Click the Save button to create the schedule, or Run to execute the job immediately. 15

16 Managing Existing Schedules You can display a tab on your dashboard with the list of currently configured report schedules. Simply double-click on an entry to edit it, or select the schedule and click Delete to remove it. 16

18 An Example Your individual portal can be customized to display listings of reports, display scheduled reporting jobs, or display reports in real-time as shown in this example. 18

19 Access the Content Editor Access the Portal editor by selecting the Content option from the Personalize menu. 19

20 Adding Tabs Add a new content tab using the Add Page button, or add a Schedule Status page using the Add Schedules button. Change the name of the tab, and click Update. Add content to the new tab using the Add Block button. 20

21 Adding Content Blocks Select the type of content block from the list: Launch: run the selected report and display the output in the block Expand the Report Tree to select reports/folders for use in a content block. Enter the name of the block to be displayed on the portal tab. Click Save to save your changes. List: display the contents of the Content List in the block Folder: display the contents of the selected folder in the content block Output: use the block as report output when the report is selected from a list or folder block Tree: display the domain tree in the block Favorites: display the favorites list in the block 21

22 Managing Tabs & Content Blocks Select a block s checkbox to edit or remove it, using the appropriate button. Click the Page Layout button to define how the tab s content blocks should be structured. Click Done to save your changes and return to the portal. 22

23 Content Block Layout Shift the ordering of the block content using the arrows. Change the size of the blocks using the + and signs. Add and position columns using the buttons along the bottom of the window. Click Content to return to the block list. 23
