Note regarding network provider Gamma Mobile. If you are a university of Plymouth staff member that has been issued with a university mobile phone your mobile phone network will be provided by Gamma. If you have collected your phone and it is not able to access the internet via the mobile network, you will need to send a text message to Gamma for the data settings to be sent to the phone. Please follow the steps below to carry this out: Text the word DATA (in upper case) to 773000. After a few minutes you will receive a text message containing the data settings for the Gamma mobile phone network. If no text message is received, please go to the following website and type in your mobile phone number: https://www.gamma.co.uk/support/handset-settings/ Please ensure you only do the above with a University provided mobile phone with a Gamma SIM card. Other notes Data only SIM cards are not able to be provided for 3G/4G enabled tablets.

Installation of the SIM Install SIM card in an iphone Before you insert your new sim in to your iphone you will need to know the type of sim you have. Find your model in the list below to see which SIM card your iphone (Wi-Fi + Mobile) uses. Nano-Sim Micro SIM Full size SIM Iphone X Iphone 4s IPhone (original) Iphone 8 (All variants) Iphone 3GS Iphone 7 (all Variants) Iphone 4 Iphone 6 (all variants) Iphone 3 Iphone SE Iphone 5s Iphone 5c iphone 5 * These models support the Apple SIM as well as the Nano SIM. Remove or switch the SIM card in your iphone Learn how to remove or transfer the SIM card in your iphone or ipad (Wi-Fi+ Mobile models). After you remove or transfer your SIM card, insert the tray completely and in the same orientation that you removed it (it will only fit one way). Use only the SIM tray that came with your device.

For example, a SIM tray from an iphone 6 will not fit in an iphone 6s. iphone To pop open your device's SIM tray, insert a paperclip or a SIM-eject tool into the hole beside the tray. Find your model below to locate the SIM tray. Find the SIM tray on the side: iphone 6s Plus iphone 6s iphone 6 Plus iphone 6 iphone 5s iphone 5c iphone 5 iphone 4s iphone 4 (GSM model) Find the SIM tray on the top: iphone 3GS iphone 3G Original iphone Install SIM card in an Android phone Before you insert your new sim in to your Android Phone or Android Tablet (with Mobile Data) you will need to know the type of sim you have. Find your model in the list below to see which SIM card your Android Phone or Android tablet (with Mobile Data) uses. NOTE: this list isn t exhaustive due to the number of different Android devices available.

Nano-SIM card Android Phones HTC One M8, M9, HTC 10 Samsung Galaxy S6, S7, S6 edge, S7 Edge, Note 5 One Plus One, One Plus Two, One Plus Three Sony Xperia Z3, Z3+, Z5, X Huawei P8, P9 Motorola Moto X (2013 & 2014 Modles), Moto Z LG G4, G5 Google Nexus 6 Samsung J5 Micro-SIM card Android Phones Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, Note II, Note 3, Note 4 Sony Xperia M2, M2 Aqua, Z2 Motorola Moto G (1st, 2nd, 3rd Gen), Moto E (1st, 2nd Gen), Moto G 4G (1st, 2nd Gen), Moto G4, G4 Plus

Standard SIM card Android Phones LG Optimus L5 II Samsung Galaxy Ace, Ace 2 Samsung Galaxy Note Each Android device is different, and each manufacturer gives its own devices little extras that make it stand out from their competitors. However Android devices are ultimately similar, to insert a SIM or swap a SIM you will need to do the following: Insert the SIM card If you have a working SIM card already, put it into the smartphone before your turn it on. Putting your SIM card in to your phone can sometimes be tricky. Sony devices (like the Sony Xperia phones) usually have flaps that you need to open, while Google Nexus phones require a pin to open the slot. Sometimes the SIM needs to go under the battery*, in which case you will need to open the device very carefully. *Only some Android phones come with a removable battery, Android phones from Sony, HTC, Motorola and some newer Samsung mobile phones do not come with a removable battery. Some mobile phones have a SIM tray on the side of the phone and require a SIM eject tool that is placed in the packaging that comes with the mobile phone.

There is normally a small hole that the sim eject tool needs to go in to, this can be on the side of the mobile phone, on a Sony Xperia this tends to be on the left hand side of the phone. Other Android phones may have the SIM tray in a different location, maybe at the top of the phone or on the other side of the phone. Remove/Swap the SIM card Removing or swapping the SIM card is the same as inserting the SIM. Import contacts stored on a SIM card Import contacts on iphone / ipad devices 1. If your iphone isn t using the SIM from your old phone: Make sure that the SIM card from your previous phone can fit into your iphone Remove your iphone SIM card and replace it with the SIM card from your previous phone

2. Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Import SIM Contacts (see right) 3. Wait for the import to complete. 4. If you swapped SIM cards in Step 1, remove the SIM card and replace it with your iphone SIM card. 5. Open Contacts and make sure that the contacts imported. The contact information imported from a SIM card depends on how your previous phone stored information on the SIM card. For more help with importing contacts from a non-apple phone, check the manufacturer s website, app store, or contact your carrier. Import contacts on Android phones 1. Open Contacts. You can reach this from the Contacts shortcut in your app drawer or home screen, or via the contacts tab within your phone dialler. 2.
