How can I connect it to the video monitor? Q: How do I upload photos to the video monitor for digital picture frame mode? Q: How do I install USB drivers for remote viewing using Skype? A: USB drivers for Skype remote viewing on PC are available as a free download. The driver for PC now has separate versions for 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. NOTE: Due to changes in Skype for Mac, the drivers for LW2730/LW2930 SD+ Series are no longer compatible with current versions of Skype for Mac. Unfortunately, this means we can no longer support remote connections using Mac for these products. To install USB driver for PC: 1. Determine whether your computer system type is 32-bit or 64-bit: a. Press + E on the keyboard to open Windows Explorer.

b. Right-click Computer on the left-side panel in Windows Explorer. c. Click Properties. d. Under System, check the System type. The system type description will specify whether your system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

2. Download the USB driver for PC from the Downloads tab (click here). 3. Double-click the.zip file to extract the contents. 4. Open the extracted folder and double-click dpinstx86 if you have a 32-bit system or dpinstx64 for 64-bit. Follow the on-screen instructions to install. Q: How do I setup remote viewing using Skype? A: See the Instruction Manual for setup instructions for PC. If you have followed the instructions and still can't connect, check the following: Have you installed USB drivers for the video monitor? See question above for details. Is the video monitor connected to your computer using a USB cable? The monitor will say USB PC CAMERA MODE on the screen when it is connected. The video monitor must be connected via the USB cable to access the video over Skype. Have you created a separate Skype account for the video monitor? You must create a separate account for the video monitor so you can call it using your personal Skype account. Have you added your personal Skype account to the Contacts list for the video monitor's Skype account? Have you enabled the video monitor Skype account to auto-answer incoming calls? See the instructions below for PC. To enable Skype to auto-answer incoming calls (PC): 1. While logged into the video monitor Skype account, click on Tools>Options. 2. Click the Calls button ( ).

3. Select Only allow people in my Contact list to call me (recommended). This will prevent the device from accepting Skype calls from anyone who is not in the contact list for its account. NOTE: You may also select Allow anyone to call me to allow anyone with a Skype account to call the device and access your camera. This setting is not recommended. Only one account may call the video monitor at the same time. 4. Click the Show advanced options button. 5. Select the Answer incoming calls automatically checkbox and the Start my video automatically when I am in a call check box. Click Save. Q: How do I pair cameras? A: If you have purchased additional accessory cameras (model: LW2731AC1), you will need to pair them to the video monitor. When pairing cameras, you can select the channel you would like the cameras to be assigned to. You can also use the steps below to reassign your existing cameras to different channels. To pair an additional camera: 1. Place the new camera and video monitor within 1ft of each other.

2. Press on the video monitor. 3. From the Main Menu, press left and right to select Pairing and press the OK button. 4. Select a channel and press the OK button. The video monitor will indicate that you have 30 seconds to press the Pair button on the camera. 5. Connect the new camera to a power outlet, and then press the Pair button behind the camera for one second. Once paired, the camera will be immediately displayed on-screen. NOTE: If you do not press the Pair button on the camera during the 30 second pairing window, unplug the camera and repeat steps 2~5 to try the pairing process again. NOTE: If you pair a new camera to a channel that is already being used by an existing camera, the new camera will be connected to that channel. The old camera will automatically be disconnected. NOTE: If the speaker begins squealing, move the camera and video monitor away from each other. Q: The screen on my video monitor is blank. What do I do? A: The video monitor screen goes blank when AV mode is activated. AV mode allows you to connect the video monitor to a TV using the included AV cable. To deactivate AV mode, press the AV button on the rear panel of the video monitor.

Q: My computer already has a webcam. How do I get Skype to use the video monitor instead? A: Follow the steps below to change the primary camera in Skype to the video monitor. To change the primary camera to the video monitor in Skype on PC: 1. Click Tools>Options. 2. Click the Video Settings button.

3. Under Select Webcam, select Wireless Monitoring System to make the video monitor the primary camera. 4. Click Save. NOTE: You will have to reselect your webcam under Select webcam to use it for regular Skype video calls. Q: How do I change the camera that is shown through Skype? A: Viewing through Skype does not allow you to change channels remotely; however, you can change the channel that is shown on Skype manually by using the video monitor. To change the channel that is shown on Skype: With the video monitor connected to the computer using a USB cable, press UP/DOWN on the video monitor to change the channel number. The camera number changes from "CAM 1" to "CAM 2".

I have a Lorex product with Skype compatibility. Can I connect to my cameras remotely with Skype on Windows 8? Yes. The latest driver software allows you to connect to your cameras using the Skype app from the Windows Store as well as Skype for desktop. Click here for instructions on installing the latest driver and setting up remote access with the Skype app. As an alternative to downloading the Skype app from the Windows Store, you may download Skype for Windows desktop from www.skype.com. Both versions of Skype allow you to connect to your cameras remotely. NOTE: USB drivers for PC are incompatible with Windows RT, which runs on Surface RT tablets. To download Skype for Windows desktop: NOTE: The Skype illustrations and instructions below serve as a guideline only. Skype may change their website / product interface without prior notice. 1. Visit www.skype.com. Click Downloads at the top of the page.

2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Downloads page and click "Learn about Skype for Windows desktop".

3. Click on the green button labeled "Get Skype for Windows desktop". 4. Follow the on-screen steps to install Skype for Windows desktop. 5. Use the steps in your instruction manual to remotely connect to your cameras. Q: How do I turn off the alarm ('beeping') sound? A: Follow the steps below. 1. Press the button. 2. Navigate to Settings>Alarm Volume and press OK. 3. Press the button repeatedly to turn the volume all the way down. NOTE: Zero volume bars means the alarm sound is muted. 4. Press OK. Q: How do I use motion recording?

A: Use motion recording to have the system only record when motion is detected by one of the cameras. Only one camera may record at a time. An SD card must be inserted into the system to enable motion recording. To enable motion recording: 1. During live view, press the button. "MOTION" will light up on the video monitor. 2. Perform one of the following: o Enable Quad mode (recommended): Press until Quad mode is selected. By default, when a camera detects motion, it will expand to full screen and start recording. Other cameras will not be able to record while motion recording is in progress. When motion recording is complete, the view will return to Quad mode. You can also configure the system to record all cameras in the split-screen view by selecting 4 Channel under Recording>Motion Record>Mode. o Enable Auto Sequence Viewing mode: Press until a single channel is shown to activate Auto Sequence Viewing mode. In Auto Sequence Viewing mode, the system will cycle through connected cameras in sequence. When a camera detects motion, it will pop-up on screen and start recording. Other cameras will not be able to record while motion recording is in progress. When motion recording is over, Auto Sequence Viewing mode will continue as normal. o Change channels manually: Press UP/DOWN to select a camera. The system will ONLY record the selected camera; it will not record motion detected by other cameras. o Enable Screen Saver mode: Press to enable screen saver mode. When motion is detected, the system will display and record the triggered camera onscreen. When motion recording is over, Screen Saver mode will continue as normal. For details on configuring Screen Saver mode, click here. 3. Press again to stop motion recording. "MOTION" will turn off on the video monitor. Q: How does the motion recording feature work? A: This Lorex system uses dual motion detection technology. This helps to ensure the accuracy of the motion detection and minimizes false alarms. The cameras have built-in PIR sensor that track heat from body movements to detect movement up to a maximum range of 21 feet (6.5 meters). PIR motion detection is extremely accurate at detecting movements from people and animals, but the accuracy decreases in extremely hot environments approaching or exceeding human body temperature (98.6 F / 37 C).

The system also uses video motion detection, which looks for changes in video images (frames) to detect motion. Video motion detection allows for motion detection beyond the range of the PIR sensors and in extremely hot temperatures. Video motion detection is highly accurate, but may trigger recording from changes in light or moving trees, leaves, etc. You can set the sensitivity of video motion detection depending on your preferences Please note that motion recording only starts when motion is detected. Because there is a slight delay between when the motion occurs and when recording starts, quickly moving objects may potentially be missed in the recording. [1] http://www.gadgetshack.com/motionsensor.html Q: Can I install the camera indoors looking out of a window? A: No, this type of installation will affect the performance of the camera in the following ways: When the night vision LEDs turn on, they will reflect off the glass, causing bright white spots in the image.

Camera pointed out of a window (daytime) Camera pointed out of a window (nighttime) Installing the camera looking out of a window will severely impact the accuracy of motion detection. o The PIR motion sensors cannot sense changes in temperature through the window itself, which masks temperature changes occurring outside. o Video motion detection may be triggered due to reflections on the glass caused by movement inside. If you wish to monitor an outdoor area, the camera should be installed outdoors. Q: How do I listen to audio from the cameras? A: To listen to audio from the cameras, you must peel off the plastic film on the front of the cameras. Otherwise, it will block the built-in microphone.

Then, during live viewing, use the volume (+/-) buttons on the video monitor to change the volume for audio. Use the white volume icons on the on-screen display to help you set the audio volume. NOTE: The audio volume is different from the alarm/buzzer volume found in the Main Menu (Main Menu>Settings>Alarm Volume). Q: I am having trouble pairing my accessory camera. How can I connect it to the video monitor? A: You may need to restart the camera to enable the pairing function. With the monitor and camera on, disconnect the camera power cable and then reconnect it. Perform the pairing process as normal. See below for pairing instructions. Q: How do I upload photos to the video monitor for digital picture frame mode? A: You can connect the video monitor to a PC to upload personal images to the SD card for digital picture frame mode. The built-in PhotoRun application automatically converts and resizes your images to be compatible with the video monitor. NOTE: The following image file formats are compatible with the video monitor: BMP, JPG, TIF, and GIF. NOTE: Photorun is compatible with the following versions of Windows: XP, Vista, 7, and 8. To upload images to the SD card:

1. Press and hold the joystick on the rear panel of the video monitor. Keep the joystick held down and connect the mini-usb cable between the monitor and your PC. Do not release the joystick until "USB PC MASS STORAGE MODE" appears on the monitor. NOTE: If "USB PC CAMERA MODE" appears on the monitor, remove the mini-usb cable and wait for the system to restart. This may occur if the joystick is released before the system can successfully enter USB Mass Storage mode. 2. An Autorun window appears. Click Open folder to view files.

3. Double-click the PHOTORUN file. The PhotoRun application opens. 4. Click then select the folder where the images you would like to upload are stored and click OK. 5. All images in the folder are added to the top area of the screen. Check ALL to select all the images in the folder or check any images you would like to add and click upload them to the SD card. to

NOTE: Images are uploaded into the Family folder by default. During Screen Saver mode, press UP/DOWN to select the folder. Each folder can store up to a maximum 256 images. 6. Saved images appear in the lower portion of the screen. If you want to delete images from the SD card, click to delete the selected image or click to delete all the images in the selected folder. You can switch between folders by clicking Family, Friends, or Personal.

7. When you are finished uploading or deleting images, click X to close the PhotoRun application and then disconnect the USB cable from the video monitor. To activate digital picture frame mode: 1. Press on the video monitor. 2. Press RIGHT/LEFT to select Screen Saver and press OK. 3. Select Photo Frame to enable digital picture frame mode and press OK. 4. Press repeatedly to return to live view. 5. Press to activate/deactivate digital picture frame mode.
