ios BYOD Wireless Instructions The following is an outline of the process required to connect your personally-owned ios device to the BYOD Wireless. First open the settings App Select the BYOD wireless network In the ipad Settings menu Click WiFi. In the WiFi menu, make sure the setting for WiFi is toggled to the on position. Next, from the Choose a Network list select the BYOD wireless network.

Enter your username and password After you connect to the network you will be asked to provide your username and password. Simply enter your username and password you use to logon to CAPS District-Owned devices here. For students this will be the first five of your last name followed by the first three of your first name for your username and then whatever password you have selected. Accept Certificate After you enter your username and password and click join, you will be presented with a certificate for Client Authentication. Click Accept and then Done. Web Authentication

After accepting the certificate you may be prompted to enter your credentials on a web authentication page. If you are presented with this page, simple use the same credentials you used when initially signing on to the BYOD wireless, your network logon credentials. Install BYOD Web Certificate Next you will need to install the CAPS BYOD web certificate. This certificate can be downloaded from the Cadillacschools.org website on the Technology page. If you are viewing this on a device that is connected and just need the BYOD Web Certificate, you can click the Technology HyperLink above. Otherwise, follow the navigation instructions below to At the Top of the Page Click Menu Click Departments

From the navigation menu that appears select Departments Click Technology On the next navigation window that appears select Technology Click The Link For The CAPS BYOD Web Certificate

Certificate Install When prompted, click Trust to begin installing the certificate. Next Click Install

Click install again Click done and your device is now properly connected and your BYOD Web Certificate is installed. You are no ready to start using your device on the CAPS BYOD Wireless Network. Trust Certificate Finally, to trust the certificate, go back to the ipad Settings App and select General and the About

Select Certificate Trust Settings Slide the toggle next to iboss.caps.local to the right to enable your device to trust this certificate.

Certificate Warning If you do not have the certificate properly installed you will see prompts that look similar to the one below. If you are receiving prompts you will need to go back up to the Install BYOD Web Certificate section and attempt the steps again. Forgetting a Network If you accidently connect to the CAPS-Public-Wireless you may want to forget that network so it automatically connects to the BYOD wireless instead of the CAPS-Public-Wireless.

To forget a network, go back to the settings applet and click on Wi-Fi as in steps one a two of this document, and click on the blue info button to the right of the network you want to forget. Select Forget this Network
