We sggest all cstomers read throgh this manal before they start to se the device. Attention Please make sre the serial nmber on the package, chassis and warranty card are intact and identical. Standby On/Off Trn on or pt the player into standby: hold the btton to trn on the player (at standby stats) or enter standby mode (at reglar operation stats) When the screen is on, click the btton once to trn off the screen, and click again to trn the screen back on. Note: The Main power spply of the player is located at the back panel, yo need to trn on the power switch before yo can start p the player. 2. SD Card Slot 3. MENU/Enter btton Trn clockwise to select next (right or down) men items, ant-clockwise to select previos (left and pper) men item. Psh the btton once to confirm yor men selection or enter next men. 4

2 I S At the playlist screen, rotate to select a song and psh the btton once to start playback. At the Playback screen yo can rotate the knob to highlight a control icon (previos, play/pase, next, playlist, my favorite etc) at the bottom of the screen and then psh the btton once to activate the action. Hold the btton for 2 second will always go back to the Home Screen. Reset If the system behaves abnormally, yo can se a non-metallic pin (e.g.toothpick) to trigger the reset btton inside the reset hole (hold on abot 3-5 seconds), the system will reboot and resme. 3. LAN and USB port LAN port connects the player to local area network;when plg in thmb drive, card reader or USB HDD, they will be recognized as OTG storage devices. Alternatively, yo can connect USB DAC to these ports and enable the USB Adio otpt fnction of idap-6. 4. I²S Otpt (HDMI port) The otpt terminal is bilt for forthcoming Cayin DAC with I²S inpt. We cannot garantee it will compatible with I²S inpt of other DAC. 5

5. Optical Otpt This otpt is sitable for DAC with optical inpt. 6. Coaxial Otpt (RCA) This otpt is sitable for DAC with coaxial inpt. 7. Coaxial Otpt (BNC) This otpt is sitable for DAC with coaxial inpt. 8. AES/EBU Otpt (XLR) This otpt is sitable for DAC with AES/EBU inpt. Note: To ensre system will perform satisfactory, we recommend yo to se proper digital adio cable that meets reqired specification when connect idap-6 to digital adio eqipment. Important Note: a. Please select I²S from Otpt Selection of Msic Setting before yo se the I²S (HDMI) otpt of IDAP-6 b. Please select S/P from Otpt Selection of Msic Setting before yo se the optical, coaxial (RCA and BNC) and AES/EBU otpt of IDAP-6. c. USB and S/PDIF otpt are mtally exclsive, connecting USB Adio device to idap-6 will disable S/PDIF and I²S otpt atomatically. 9. Power inpt connector Connect to AC Power spply. Please make sre the AC voltage of yor local power spply match the voltage information printed on the back panel before yo power p the player. 10. FUSE. If in case yo need to change the fse, please se replacement fse with same specification as the original. (The player is eqipped with 2 spare fse). 11. Main Power Spply Switch the main power spply to "On" position will trn on the Player. Tips: If yo are not going to se the player for a while, we recommend yo to trn off the main power spply. 6

Preparation 1. Connect Power sorce Please make sre the AC voltage of yor local power spply match the voltage information printed on the back panel before yo plg in a power cord and connect to a AC power otlet. 2. System Connection The system connection diagram illstrates how idap-6 connects with idac-6. Yo can select the reqired connection according to yor actal need. (1) Connecting Digital Adio Cable If yo want to se RCA otpt of the player, yo need to connect 75Ω coaxial digital cable to coaxial RCA or BNC inpt of DAC. If yo want to se BNC otpt of the player, yo need to connect 75Ω coaxial digital cable to coaxial RCA or BNC inpt of DAC. If yo want to se AES/EBU otpt of the player, yo need to connect 110Ω coaxial digital cable to AES/EBU inpt of DAC. If yo want to se Optical otpt of the player, yo need to connect optical digital cable to Optical/Toslink inpt of DAC. If yo want to se I²S (HDMI) otpt of the player, yo need to connect short (1 meter or less) high qality HDMI cable to I²S inpt of DAC. (2) Connecting Ethernet Network When connected to an Ethernet Network, idap-6 can playback msic files shared within a LAN or receive pshed msic from DLNA or Airplay. Please connect Ethernet cable from RJ-45 port in rear panel to one of the LAN connection port of yor roter. The msic files stored on the NAS or other networked device shold also be connected to other LAN port of this roter. (3) Connecting Wireless Network When connected to an WiFi Network, idap-6 can playback msic files shared within a LAN or receive pshed msic from DLNA or Airplay. Trn on the WiFi featre at Network Setting men, activate the Searching WiFi on the men and selected the best WiFi singal from yor Roter. 8

Basic Operation Please make sre the AC voltage of yor local power spply match the voltage information printed on the back panel and make sre all eqipment are connected correctly. 1. Startp Operation Trn on the power switch on rear panel, the player will power p and enter standby mode. Hold on the front panel power btton, and its indicator light will trn on, and the screen will display startp logo as below: 2. Main Men The Player enters main men after startp and display five fnctional icons. Rotate MENU btton to select the desired icon and psh MENU btton once to enter, the player will display the options available in each men. 9

Msic Library Msic Category Playing now Msic Setting System setting Local Storage Msic, Network Msic, Update Msic Library Songs, Favorite, Recent, Albm, Genre, Artist, Playlist Songs, Favorite, Recent, Albm, Genre, Artist, Playlist Playback Mode, Otpt selection, DSD Otpt Mode, Resme from Breakpoint, Gapless, Lyrics, Albm Art System Setting, Network Settings, System Update, Abot Player (1) Msic Library Local Storage Msic Network Msic Update Msic Library Select Local Storage devices: SD card, USB storage (USB Flash Drive, card reader or HDD, connected as OTG devices) Browse or play the folders or msic files shared in the LAN Scan msic files from SD card and USB storage, and synchronize metadata to facilitate Msic Category fnctions. 10

Local Storage Msic Local msic is the msic stored in SD card or USB storages that attached to idap-6 directly. Highlight the Local Storage icon on the left pane, psh the MENU btton once to enter the storage device list, browse throgh the folders and select yor desired msic file, psh MENU btton once to play the file, the screen will jmp to Playing Now interface. Network Msic Network Msic is the msic file stored on the NAS or from shared folders of compters in the LAN. Highlight the Network Msic icon on the left pane, psh the MENU btton once to enter Network Msic sbmen. Select Local Area Network Msic option below and psh MENU btton to start searching for NAS and shared folders in the network. Update Msic Library Highlight the pdate msic library icon on the left pane, psh MENU btton once to enter the Msic Update sbmen, and psh the MENU btton again to start the pdate process as below. 11

(2) Msic Category The system scans and records metadata of msic files dring pdating msic library. The Msic Category fnction will create mltiple list according to "Songs", "Albm", "Genre" and "Artist". In addition, Msic Category will also provide featres sch as "Favorite", "Recent" and "Playlist", allowing sers to browse and select songs to playback according to varios classifications. Songs Favorite Recent Albm Genre Artist Playlist Display all songs in storage device Display the song list that is marked as Favorite Display recently played msic files Display albm list, rotate MENU btton to select an albm, psh MENU btton once to view song list. Display genre list, rotate MENU btton to select a genre, psh MENU btton once to view song list. Display genre list, rotate MENU btton to select a artist, psh MENU btton once to view song list. Display the songs that is added into Playing Now list 12

(3) Playing Now If idap-6 is playing or pased, the screen will display Playing Now interface. If it is not playing, the msic category interface is displayed. There are several control icons at the bottom of Playing Now interface, yo can select any one of these icons by trning the MENU btton (notice the red highlight), and yo can psh the MENU btton once to confirm yor action. Psh the MENU btton and hold for 2 second will always stop the playback and go back to Main Men. 1. The control icons, from left to right, are Previos. Play/Pase. Next, Shortct, My Favorite, Playlist and Progress Bar. 2. When yo select and click the shortct men icon, yo'll be given the following choice: Playback Mode, Add Playlist and Delete crrent file. 3. When yo highlighted the Progress Bar, yo can psh the MENU btton once to select it, and then trn the MENU btton clockwise to Fast Forward, and anti-clockwise to Rewind. 4. If yo select the Playback mode in Shortct men, yo can select yor desired mode by pshing the MENU btton, the systerm will rotate among for playback mode as below: Repeat All Repeat Once Play in Order Shffle (4) Msic Setting Yo can set p playback parameters or trn on/off fnctions related to msic playback in Msic Setting interface. 13

Playback Mode Otpt selection DSD Otpt Mode Resme from Breakpoint Gapless Lyrics Albm Art For playback modes: Play in Order, Shffle, Repeat Once, Repeat All Select between S/PDIF or I²S otpt Select between DoP or D2P otpt When trn on, the player will resme playback from the previos stop or power off location When trn on, player will skip all the gaps between media files and play all files seamlessly When trn on, player will display lyric alongside msic playback (reqired associated lyric file for the msic file) When trn on, the player will display albm art on the Playing Now men (reqired associated graphic file for the msic file). The albm art file can be jpeg, png or bmp format (in this order or priority) with resoltion not more than 2000x2000. The idap-6 will recognize albm art throgh the following priority: 1. Embed albm cover to the metadata of the msic file 2. Rename the albm art to same filename of the msic file and store both msic file and albm art into the same folder 3. Rename the albm art as front.xxx, cover.xxx or folder.xxx (in this order of priority and case insensitive) and pt it into the same folder with msic files that will se this as their ablm art. 14

(5) System Setting Yo can set p system parameters and wireless/networking fnctions in System Setting interface. Langage Set the player UI to one of the three langages: Simplify Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English Backlight time-ot Yo can set the backlight dration by choosing one of the following time-ot setting: 30s/1m/5m/10m/30m/always on Folder operation Reset When trn on, the player will jmp to next folder after playback the last song of crrent folder. When trn off, the player will playback all msic within the folder according to the playback mode setting Reset the Player to factory defalt settings *Yo can complete the above operations by trning the MENU btton to highlight System Setting on the Left pane, psh the MENU btton once to confirm yo selection and enter sbmen, rotate the MENU btton again to highlight the desired option. For example if yo want to change the backlight setting, highlight and psh Men btton to enter backlight time ot option, yo can then select the desired backlight dration from the popp interface. Network Setting Sbmen BT Setting WiFi Setting DLNA On/Off, Search, Pair, Hiby-Link, Sond Qality On/Off, Search, Connect, Password (virtal keyboard) On/Off Airplay On/Off 16

1. Wired network: Please connect Ethernet cable to RJ-45 port in rear panel. The player will obtain IP address and connect to network atomatically. A network icon will be displayed in the top right corner after connection. 2. BT Setting: At Bletooth sbmen, trn on the Bletooth and the system will scan for available Bletooth devices. Scroll to the Available Device list at the bottom of the screen and se MENU btton to select the device that yo want to pair with psh MENU btton once to confirm connection. If yo have connected to this device previosly, yo can select the device from Paired Device and the player will setp the connection directly. HibyLink: Trn on the HibyLink featre on the Bletooth sbmen. Install the HiByMsic App (v3.0 or after) to yor Android phone or mobile device. At the top right corner of the Hiby Men bar, select the HibyLink icon. and the App will search for HibyLink compatible device immediately, yo can now select Cayin idap-6 (according to the Bletooth Device name) and complete the connection. Once the file sharing is setp, yo can browse the Local Msic content and remote control the idac-6 throgh yor Android device. 17

3. WiFi Setting At WiFi Sbmen, set the WiFi option to On, system will activate and search for available WiFi hotspots. Yo can select the desired hotspot at the end of the searching and psh the MENU btton once to confirm the connection. Important Note: When connect to WiFi or Bletooth, idap-6 will display a virtal keyboard as below if a password is reqired. Trn the MENU btton to locate the charter and psh the Men btton once to enter one character at a time. 18

Systern pgrade Cayin will release firmware pdate to enhance and optimize IDAP-6 as deem reqired, please follow the instrction of or official firmware release at www.cayin.cn to complete the firmware pdate process. Abot player Yo can check the model nmber, SD card capacity and remaining storage amont, Bletooth Mac address and firmware version in this interface. 19

Safety Precations 1. Please make sre the voltage information printed on the back panel match the AC voltage of yor local power spply before yo power p the player. 2. Unplg the power cord if yo are not going to se the DAC for an extended period of time, and keep the machine in proper condition 3. Please handle with care, avoid tempering to the machine 4. The idap-6 will not fnctional appropriately if moistres has developed inside the player, please avoid operate the machine ntil internal moistres has cleared. Moistres can be cased by placing the player at a location when heater or steamer has jst trned on.moving the player from a cold environment to a warm location.moving the machine from a chilled (e.g., air conditioned room) to a hot and hmidity environment. 5. Do not attempt to service this prodct yorself. Opening the cover may expose yo to electric shock or other hazards. 6. The Player mst be keep away from water dripping or water splitting, do not place any objects filled with liqids sch as vases or some others on the top or arond. 7. Do not attempt to disassembly the machine, all service and maintenance mst be condcted by athorized service technician. 8. Please disconnect power cable before yo attempt to clean the machine. Please se soft clean cloth to wipe clean the chassis, do not se volatile soltion or corrosive cleaning prodct. 9.
