Citation TITLE ALERT SERVICE LETTER ASL525B-71-03 POWER PLANT - TRANSMITTAL OF WILLIAMS INTERNATIONAL NUMBER -73-024, REVISION 4, ENGINE FUEL AND CONTROL - FADEC SOFTWARE UPLOAD OF CP219.10.01 EFFECTIVITY MODEL 525B SERIAL NUMBERS -0001 thru -0042 that are equipped with an engine that has a serial number listed in the attached Williams International Service Bulletin The equivalent of this service letter has been incorporated on production airplanes -0043 and On. REASON To significantly reduce the occurrence of nuisance "NO DISPATCH" fault indications on the engine control system (ECS). DESCRIPTION This service letter transmits Williams International Service Bulletin Number -73-024, Revision 4, Engine and Fuel, Control - FADEC Software Upload of CP219.10.01, which provides instructions to upload CP219.10.01 software into the FADEC in airplanes that have an engine with a serial number that is identified in the attached Williams International service bulletin. COMPLIANCE MANDATORY. The attached Williams International service bulletin must be accomplished within 25 flight hours of the receipt of this service letter. MANPOWER WARRANTY Eligibility: Parts: WORK PHASE MAN-HOURS Modification 3.0 Affected airplanes that were still within the Cessna five year airframe warranty period on the original issue date of this service letter. 1.Planning Information Engine Fuel and Control - FADEC Software Upload of CP219.10.01 A. Effectivity: This service bulletin applies to the following Williams International turbofan engine: ENGINE MODEL SERIAL NUMBER -3A 141003-141004, 141008-141009, 141015-141016, 141019, 141021-141032,141034-141035, 141037-141040, 141045-141046, 141049-141050, 141052-141062, 141065-141072, 141083-141084 B. Reason: Load FAA certified application software (AS), CP219.10.01. C. Description: This Service Bulletin gives instructions to: Download existing FADEC files/information and send to Williams International. Load new application software (AS) into the FADEC installed on Cessna CJ3 aircraft with above engine serial numbers. Re-identify FADEC to P/N 76714 or 76715 as applicable. D. Compliance: This Service Bulletin is Mandatory. This Service Bulletin is approved by the Manager, Chicago Aircraft Certification Office. This Service Bulletin shall be accomplished on fielded engines at an authorized Service Facility within 25 flight hours of receipt of this Bulletin. 2. Accomplishment Instructions A. Save engine and FADEC data from both channel A and channel B on both engines and forward the information to Williams International. Use the e-mail address fadec@williams-int.com Refer to Write/Save Data to/from the FADEC (TASK 73-26-01-870-801) in the -3A Maintenance Manual. B. Load Application Software: 1. From the supplied -3A Engine Control Software CD, copy the CP219.oll file into your computer s c\:ollfiles directory. If the \ollfiles directory does not exist, the directory must be created. Copy the CP219.10.01.00.cfg file from the CD into your computer s WI_EMT directory. This file is most likely located at C:\Program Files\WI_EMT. Note: If the program CD contains a compressed file, it will be necessary to decompress this file in a temporary directory before copying to the target directories 2. Verify FADEC O/S P/N (Goodrich PIN) is 73465 or 75193. 3. Perform the hardware setup shown in Section 4.3 Hardware Setup for Each Use of the WI EMT in the EMT User Manual, WI PN 74169. 4. Connect the Maintenance Laptop with WI_EMT software loaded to the USB side of the USB Serial Converter and connecting the 4 Communication channels (cable TL- 99686) into the serial side of the Converter. 5. Apply Power to the RH FADEC and LH FADEC. 6. Start the WI EMT software by selecting the WI_EMT icon on the Maintenance Laptop computer 7. Select the EMT button. The WI EMT will test all four ports for the FADEC channel(s) to which it is to connect. 8. Make note of which com ports are determined for each FADEC below. LHA: COM, LHB: COM, RHA: COM, RHB: COM. 9. Exit the WI EMT by selecting the Quit Button. 10. Power down the FADECs 11. Insert the programming cable, WI part number TL-99687 between the Communication Cable and the Interface Panel. Ensure a good hardware connection by screwing in the cable connectors. This must be done before Power is applied. 12. Apply Power to the FADECs. 13. To load the LH Engine FADEC: a) Start the WI EMT software by selecting the WI_EMT icon on the Maintenance Laptop computer. b) Select the Programming button. -73-024 Revision 4, Oct 17/05 Page 3 of 9

c) Select the correct channels for LH FADEC from Step 8 from the selection under To Which Channels do you want to connect? Note: You are only able to program both channels from one FADEC at a time. d) Select the Load Software option. e) Verify the cables are connected (including the programming cable), and then select OK to continue. f) You will see in the message window, Please wait a moment... Within a few seconds the display should read Ready, loading the Flash Kernel, executing the Flash Kernel and erasing the Kernel in the message window. No user interaction required (about 1 minute). g) Once that is finished, a message box will come up informing the user that he needs to select the application file to be loaded. Select OK to move to the next step in the programming process. h) A file selection dialog box will appear, and the user needs to select the correct AS file (c:\\ollfiles\cp219.oll). Click on the file name, and then select Choose. The Software will then be loaded to the engine control with the display showing the current progress. If an error occurs during this process, it will be reported and the program will exit. Otherwise, a dialog box will inform the user of the successful download, and the program will exit (about 14 minutes). *NOTE: Your computer may go into sleep mode during the download process. This will require you to restart this bulletin. To avoid sleep mode, you can disable it through your computer settings or periodically move the cursor. i) When complete a success message will appear. Dismiss message and the EMT will exit. This completes the LH engine FADEC download. 14. To Load the RH engine FADEC: a) Start the WI EMT software by selecting the WI_EMT icon on the Maintenance Laptop computer. b) Select the Programming button. c) Select the correct channels for RH FADEC from Step 8 from the selection under To Which Channels do you want to connect? Note: You are only able to program both channels from one FADEC at a time. d) Select the Load Software option. e) Verify the cables are connected (including the programming cable), and then select OK to continue. f) You will see in the message window, Please wait a moment... Within a few seconds the display should read Ready, loading the Flash Kernel, executing the Flash Kernel and erasing the Kernel in the message window. No user interaction required (about 1 minute) g) Once that is finished, a message box will come up informing the user that he needs to select the application file to be loaded. Power down the FADECs and remove the Programming cable, WI part number TL- 99687 from between the Communication Cable and the Interface Panel. 16. Power RH and LH engine s FADECs and confirm there is no ECS fault Channel_Version_Fault or FADEC_VersionFault after a 5 second delay displayed as a FADEC Fail light in the Cockpit. 17. Verify FADEC checksum and Part Number on LH Engine. a) Start the WI EMT software by selecting the WI_EMT icon on the Maintenance Laptop computer. b) Select EMT from the dialog box. c) The WI EMT will query all four ports for the FADEC channel(s) to which it is to connect. Use the selector button s up and down arrows to select LH Ch A (COM x) and LH Ch B (Com x) where x is the configured port. d) Select RUN EMT to access EMT mode. e) Select VIEW FADEC SOFTWARE CHECKSUM from the main menu button options and confirm Part # CP219.10.01.00 and checksum for both channels is 7386. f) Select OK to dismiss box. g) From the main menu select UPDATE ENGINE COMPONENTS/LIFING. h) Under the Channel to view use the selector button s up and down arrows to select LH Ch A. i) On the right hand side enter 76714 (if Goodrich PIN is 73465) or 76715 (if Goodrich PIN is 75193) into the box under FADEC Part # j) Confirm the FADEC Serial # is correct. If not, update to correct FADEC serial number. Note: enter last 4 digits of S/N on the Goodrich nameplate. k) Confirm the Engine Serial # is correct, if not update to correct engine serial number. l) From engine logbook, record engine flight time and cycles. m) Select the Write New Values button to program the FADEC with the changed values. Note: The three variables will be displayed on the top of the EMT window on all menus. n) Under the Channel to view use the selector button s up and down arrows to select LH Ch B o) On the right hand side enter 76714 (if Goodrich PIN is 73465) or 76715 (if Goodrich PIN is 75193) into the box under FADEC Part #. p) Confirm the FADEC Serial # is correct. If not, update to correct FADEC serial number. Note: enter last 4 digits of S/N on the Goodrich nameplate. q) Confirm the Engine Serial # is correct, if not update to correct engine serial number. r) From engine logbook, record engine flight time and cycles. Enter engine flight time and cycles into the boxes labeled Engine Flight Time and Cycle Count. s) Select the Write New Values button to program the FADEC with the changed values. Note: The three variables will be displayed on the top of the EMT window on all menus. t) Select the Exit button on top of the window 18. Verify FADEC checksum and Part Number on RH Engine a) Start the WI EMT software by selecting the WI_EMT icon on the Maintenance Laptop computer. b) Select EMT from the dialog box. c) The WI EMT will query all four ports for the FADEC channel(s) to which it is to connect. Use the selector button s up and down arrows to select RH Ch A (COM x) and RH Ch B (Com x) where x is the configured port. d) Select RUN EMT to access EMT mode. e) Select VIEW FADEC SOFTWARE CHECKSUM from the main menu button options and confirm Part # CP219.10.01.00 and checksum for both channels is 7386. f) Select OK to dismiss box. g) From the main menu select UPDATE ENGINE COMPONENTS/LIFING. h) Under the Channel to view use the selector button s up and down arrows to select RH Ch A. i) On the right hand side enter 76714 (if Goodrich PIN is 73465) or 76715 (if Goodrich PIN is 75193) into the box under FADEC Part #. j) Confirm the FADEC Serial # is correct. If not, update to correct FADEC serial number. l) From the aircraft flight records, write down engine flight time and cycles. Enter engine flight time and cycles into the boxes labeled Engine Flight Time and Cycle Count. m) Select the Write New Values button to program the FADEC with the changed values. Note: The three variables will be displayed on the top of the EMT window on all menus. n) Under the Channel to view use the selector button s up and down arrows to select RH Ch B o) On the right hand side enter 76714 (if Goodrich PIN is 73465) or 76715 (if Goodrich PIN is 75193) into the box under FADEC Part #. p) Confirm the FADEC Serial # is correct. If not, update to correct FADEC serial number. Note: enter last 4 digits of S/N on the Goodrich nameplate. q) Confirm the Engine Serial # is correct, if not update to correct engine serial number. r) From engine logbook, record engine flight time and cycles. Enter engine flight time and cycles into the boxes labeled Engine Flight Time and Cycle Count. s) Select the Write New Values button to program the FADEC with the changed values. Note: The three variables will be displayed on the top of the EMT window on all menus. t) Select the Exit button on top of the window. C. Re-identify the FADEC for the new application software with new WI P/N (refer to FIGURE 1 -FADEC LABELS): If Goodrich PIN is 73465: 1. Remove Williams International label without damaging anodized surface of FADEC. 2. Apply new label (P/N 71986) directly above Goodrich nameplate, ensuring that the information is entered as follows: PART NAME -3A FADEC P/N 76714 REV NC SOFTWARE VERSION NO. CP219.10.01-73-024 Revision 4, Oct 17/05 Page 7 of 9

If Goodrich PIN is 75193: 1. Remove Williams International label without damaging anodized surface of FADEC. 2. Apply new label (P/N 71986 or 76776) directly above Goodrich nameplate, ensuring that the information is entered as follows: PART NAME -3A FADEC P/N 76715 REV NC SOFTWARE VERSION NO. CP219.10.01 D. Perform High Power Check in accordance with the -3A Maintenance Manual ch. 71-00- 00-760-837. E. Perform additional testing as desired. F.
