Apparently Windows TCPIP may create this "hiccup" type of error on machines with more than 2 processors. CCIPC passes this error to the CCIPC using CA application in the form of a CCICONV FAILURE: CCI0053 TCP/IP error WSAEWOULDBLOCK. Since this is a recoverable error, this PTF updates the CCIPC code to try the CCI receive data function again, rather than passing the error to the CCIPC using application. SYMPTOMS: A product such as CA-Datacom puts out error msg- CA DATACOM/DB CCICONV FAILURE: CCI0053 TCP/IP error WSAEWOULDBLOCK IMPACT: CCI using CA application on PC has to be restarted. CIRCUMVENTION: Turn on the CCIPC trace. The trace slows CCI down enough so that the WSAEWOULDBLOCK TCPIP error does not occur. However the trace file at some point will get rather large and so the app will need to be restarted. PROBLEM RESOLUTION: This PTF delivers new versions (v14.0.3) of the CCIPC 32-Bit and 64-Bit self extracting install exe files. SMP application of this PTF will result in replacement of CAW0OPTN members CCIPCS32 and CCIPCS64. This only happens if your 1st successful ENF startup is performed with the REINIT option and a CAS9211I message is issued - CAS9211I - REINIT ACCEPTED - GLOBAL MODULES WILL BE REFRESHED The REINIT option should not be specified the first time ENF is started, or if ENF was never successfully started. With this PTF applied, the REINIT specification will be tolerated and just ignored on ENF startups where it is not necessary to use it. SYMPTOMS: 1) ENF commands end with IEE305I message as follows - ENF STATUS IEE305I ENF COMMAND INVALID 2) Some events (e.g. JOBTERM, JOBSEL, MEMTERM, WTO and STEPINIT) are not collected at all. For Scheduler users, you may see all submitted jobs stay at EXECUTING stage even those jobs have completed. IMPACT: CA Workload Management products will not function properly. CIRCUMVENTION: Recycle ENF without the REINIT option. PROBLEM RESOLUTION: Apply the PTF to the system via SMP then IPL at a convenient time to activate the ENF toleration of the REINIT parm when it is not necessary. For example: NR0000000 " 0 " 0 13337 18:20:05.36 JOB12570 00000010 LDM0102I CA-L-Serv termination request accepted The field to the left of the year/date should contain the local SYSNAME. SYMPTOMS: None. IMPACT: Products which scan SYSLOG may be expecting the SYSNAME instead of random data. With this ++PTF installed, the STOP LSERV command will cause the LDM0102I message to be in the LSERV joblog only, not the syslog. If you use the F LSERV,SHUTDOWN command, the LDM0102I message will go to the issuing console, the syslog, and the LSERV joblog. CIRCUMVENTION: Use F LSERV,SHUTDOWN instead.
