Exporting to the IGPro Gradebook from CPS You are now able to export session data collected in CPS into your InteGrade Pro gradebook. To do this, you must have a Class Roster in CPS that exactly matches the names of the students you have in your IGPro gradebook. For example, if you have a student listed as Robert Jones in your IG gradebook, his name must also appear as Robert Jones in the CPS Class Roster you are using, not Bob Jones. A class list from the District AS400 can be obtained from your Tech IRT. It is an Excel file with all of your students listed with their Student ID numbers. Save that file in your CPS folder of your H- Drive or some other location you will remember. Follow these instructions to import that class into IGPro. 1. Open CPS and click on the Prepare Tab, then Classes and Students, then Import button. 2. A CPS Import Class Wizard box opens. 3. Click on Comma Separated Values, then click Next.
4. Click Browse and navigate to the location of the Excel file with your class list. 5. Select that class list and click Open. 6. Select Instructor and click OK.
7. Click to Check Mark the box beside the name of the desired class list and click Next. 8. After the status bar finishes loading your class, you will get a screen saying the class has been imported successfully. 9. Click Done. The imported class will now appear in the CPS classes list. Note that all students are automatically assigned a pad number according to their alphabetical order in the class.
Once you have a CPS Class Roster that matches, follow these steps to export your session data: From Inside the CPS Program: 1) After your class has finished answering questions in CPS, go to the Reports tab from the main CPS window. 2) Highlight the Session Title of the lesson you wish to export by clicking on it once, then click the Generate button. The CPS Reporting window will appear on the screen. 3) The names of students will appear on the left-hand side of the window. You can check on the Select All box to have all students scores exported and/or the Filter out students who didn t respond box if you had students who were not in class for the lesson. 4) On the right-hand side of the CPS Reporting window, a listing of report options will be available. Highlight InteGrade Pro Export by clicking on it once. 5) Click on the Preview button. 6) A Notepad window will appear on the screen with all of your session data contained within a new Notepad file. 7) Click on File and then from the drop-down menu, click on Save As. A Save As dialog box will appear on the screen. 8) From the Save As dialog box, type in the file name you wish your session data file to be called (e.g. Names of Capitols Quiz Hour 1). Be sure to remember what you called this file and where you saved it. 9) In the box Save as type, use the drop-down menu to select All Files instead of Text File. 10) Click on the Save button. Your file will be saved with the same you gave it plus a.gbk extension. 11) Close the NotePad window. From Inside IG Pro 1) After you have saved your session data into a.gbk file, open up IG Pro. 2) Open the Class Spreadsheet that you wish to import the CPS data into. 3) Click on File, and from the drop-down menu click on Import Into Gradebook.
4) An Import Into Gradebook window will appear, Click on Next 5) You will now need to find the.gbk file you saved that has your CPS session data. 6) When you find it, highlight it by clicking on it once, then click Open. 7) Your data should now appear in your IG Pro Gradebook Note: By default, CPS will export your session data based on a 100 point scoring system. Therefore if you have a quiz with 10 questions, each question would be worth 10 points. If you wish to change this, you will need to do this when you engage the lesson during your class session. When you first engage a lesson you will be taken to the CPS Session Setup window. In this window, there is a Max Points box. Here you can change the point value for your set of questions. So if you set this number to 50 and you have 10 questions, each question will be worth 5 points.
