Android In Order to use SQU Wireless Services, you must follow these three steps: First Step: Finding your device MAC address. Follow these steps: Tap on Settings About Device Status Wi-Fi MAC Address OR Settings General About Device Status Wi-Fi MAC Address (Take note of your Wi-Fi Mac address) 5
Second Step: Register MAC address in the SQU Portal 1. Open SQU Portal: (http://portal.squ.edu.om). 2. Enter your username and password to access the Portal. 3. Select personal Wireless Service click on ( Register new device). 4. Enter the MAC address (the physical Address of your phone) and choose (Pda/ Gsm) in the device type. 5. Click on Submit. 1 6

Laptop Before connecting to the SQU wireless network please check the following: 1. The Wireless Button/Switch is turned ON. 2. Date and time is correct. 3. The date is set to the western calendar. 4. The anti-virus is up-to-date. To register your laptop to SQU Wi-Fi, you have to follow four steps: First Step: Find MAC address for the laptop 1. Click on Windows Start button in your laptop. 2. On the Start Menu, in the Search section, type CMD then press Enter. 15
3. Black screen will appears, type ipconfig/all and press Enter. 4. Look at the line which start with Wireless, then find Physical Address and look at the address next to it (which consist of 12 digits of letters and numbers), write the address carefully without dashes in a piece of paper. Note: If you find more than one Wireless network in the CMD, choose the network without numbers at the end or which have the least number. 16
Second Step: Register MAC address in the SQU Portal 1. Use another device connected to the internet. 1. Open SQU Portal: (http://portal.squ.edu.om). 3. Enter your username and password to access the Portal. 4. Follow the steps from page 6 to 8, and make sure the Device type selected is (Laptop). 17
Third Step: Connecting to SQU Wi-FI 1. Open the Wi-Fi in your laptop, choose the network «SQU_WLAN», and uncheck connect automatically then press Connect. 2. Enter your username and password, press OK 3. Then press Connect, Congratulations,, now you can browse the internet. 18
