Tulsa Public Schools TPS ipad Setup Process Setting up ipad for the first time: To set up ipad, turn it on and follow the Setup Assistant. The onscreen directions in Setup Assistant walk you through the setup process, including connecting to a Wi-Fi network, signing in with or creating a free Apple ID, setting up icloud, and turning on recommended features, such as Location Services and Find My ipad. During setup, you can copy your apps, settings, and content from another ipad by restoring from an icloud backup or from itunes. 2

Tab on TpsNet for Wi-Fi Once you have select TpsNet, Type in the username and password for TPS Network. Wireless access will be granted once username and password is accepted. 5

Setting up TPS Wi-Fi Wireless Setup 1. After initial setup, ios devices should find and connect to the first unsecured wireless signal they find. In our case, this should be TPSGuestNet. Tap on the blue arrow to the right of TPSGuestNet to open its properties. 2. Tap on Forget this Network and Forget when it prompts. This prevents the ios device from ever connecting to the TPSGuestNet without user intervention. 8
3. Now that it is no longer connected to TPSGuestNet, Tap on TPSNet in the wireless list. 4. This should bring up a box asking for credentials. For ESC users: Replace 5x2 with the users username For ME users: replace ESC with ME and 5x2 with the student username for the site Once you have entered VALID credentials, tap the Join button and you will be presented with a certificate to accept. Do so and you will be joined to the network. 9
TPS E-mail Setup 1. Open the settings panel and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Tap the Add Account button to get started. 2. Select Microsoft Exchange 10
3. When prompted, enter the user s TPS email address. Replace 5x2 with the username, and the password with the user s password. Tap the Next button once complete. 4. A new box will appear asking for a server address. Use webmail.tulsaschools.org, and then tap the Next button. 11
5. A new screen will appear and ask what items from exchange that you would like to sync. In this case, I selected all items. Tap the Save button when complete to finalize your setup. 12
Changing User s Password After Email Has Been Setup 1. After the Wi-Fi and the user s email have been configured, open the settings panel and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Tap the User s Exchange account near the top to get started. 2. In this new window, tap the account at the top again. In this example, the user is 5x2 13
3. This will open the account info. To change the password to match the user s network password just delete all that is in the Password field, and type the new correct password. Once this is complete, tap the Done Button. 4. You should now be back at this screen. Tap Done once more and then you can close system settings. 14
Creating an itunes Account - No Credit Card Needed Once the ipad has been setup and connected to Wi-Fi you are ready to start using applications. In order to add applications to your device you must have an apple id or an itunes account. Most itunes accounts require a credit card. On a Tulsa Public Schools district device you can create an account with a credit card. Creating an itunes Account - No Credit Card Needed http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534 1. If you already have an account, open itunes. From the menu bar choose Store > Sign Out. 2. Click itunes Store (on the left side of the itunes window) and pick your country by clicking the appropriate country flag located in the bottom-right corner of the main itunes Store page. 3. Navigate to the App Store by clicking on App Store from the top navigation bar. 4. Important: Before proceeding to the next step, you must download and install a free app. To find a free app, navigate to the Top Charts column on the right side of the App Store window. Scroll down until you see the list of Free Apps. Select any app by clicking on it. Then click Free App underneath the app icon. 5. In the pop-up window, click Create New Account. 15
6. You are directed to the "Welcome to the itunes Store" screen. Click Continue. 7. You'll need to read and agree to the itunes Store Terms & Conditions. Make sure you check the box next to where it says "I have read and agree to the itunes Terms and Conditions." 8. Click Continue. 9. Enter your email address, create your password, continue to create and answer your security question, and enter your birthday. Click Continue. 16
10. Select None as the payment option. 11. Continue to fill out the required name and address fields. 12. You'll then see a screen that says 'Verify your Account.' Click Done, and then check your email for a verification email from itunes Store. 13. Open the email, and click the link enclosed in the email to activate your account. 14. Once you click on the link, itunes should then prompt you to sign in with your account name and password. 15. You'll then see the below "Congratulations" screen. Click Done to be taken to the App Store home page. 17

Pearson PowerTeacher app for TPS ipad Setup Settings: Access PowerSchool APP. Choose Settings Choose Server o Server Address: powerschool.tulsaschools.org o Port Number: 443 o SSL Enabled: On 19
Once you have completed the above settings select login at the top of the settings page. Go back to Login screen o Enter your username & password o Choose Find School o You should see a list of schools o Select your school 20
PowerSchool for Parents and Students is a free itunes application that allows parents and students to see live attendance, assignments, scores, and grades from their iphone, ipod touch, or ipad with ios4 or higher. Search itunes for PowerSchool for Parent App The PowerSchool for Parent App will appear on the front screen of the mobile device. Touch the icon to launch. PowerSchool Would Like to Use Your Current Location Don t Allow 21

TPS VPN Settings Server: vpn2.tulsaschools.org Account: 5x2 Password: Suggest ask every time be selected although you can put in password if you like Group Name: IPSEC_Login Secret: 1q2w3e4r Group Name is case sensitive. Note: Although the PPTP VPN to vpn.tulsaschools.org is still valid for now it could go away in the future. 27
Enrolling your device in Airwatch 1. Launch Safari Browser 2. Type URL https://airwatch.tulsaschools.org 3. Enter Group ID See list attached 4. Enter Network Credentials Username 5x2 or ME\Student Password Network password or Student 5. Installation will start automatically 6. Install profile 28
7. Install profile now 8. Read Warning and Install 9. System will prompt when complete select done 10. You can now navigate back to home screen 11. Passcode requirement Continue 12. Enter a 6 or more characters passcode (Lock device password) 29
