1 Introduction This guide provides relevant information to all the users who want to install the ETAS CONGRA. ETAS CONGRA is distributed as a standard Microsoft Windows installer. Run setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions to install ETAS CONGRA. 1.1 Safety Notice Safety advice for this ETAS product is available in the following formats: A printed document shipped with the DVD media. 2 Installing ETAS CONGRA 2.1 Preparing to install Make sure: your system meets the minimum requirements you have the administrator privileges to install ETAS CONGRA 2.2 Software prerequisites There are no additional software prerequisites for the ETAS CONGRA installation: All necessary software prerequisites will be inst alled by the installer, including a Computer Algebra System (CAS) to execute most of its functionality. 2.3 System requirements The following minimum system prerequisites have to be met: Required Hardware Required Operating System Required Free Disk Space 2,0 GHz Dual-Core PC or equivalent 2 GB RAM DVD-ROM drive Network adapter Graphics with a resolution of at least 1024 x 768, 128 MB RAM Windows 7 (SP1) 64 bits or above version 500 MB (not including the size for application data) 2.4 Installation To start the ETAS CONGRA installation: ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 Installation Guide 5
1. Start the setup.exe, the Welcome window is displayed 2. Click on the Next button 3. Next you have to accept the End User License Agreement. Continue with Next. ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 Installation Guide 6
4. You can now define the installation path or use the default path proposed 5. Click on the Next button or proceed to install. 6. If another version of ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 has already been installed you will be asked to uninstall it before installing the current version. ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 Installation Guide 7
7. Start the uninstallation by clicking Next. 8. Close the window once uninstallation has been completed. ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 Installation Guide 8
9. Select the Start menu folder ETAS CONGRA 1.3 should be added to. 10. Before installation can be started all running instances of MATLAB that have to be closed are be displayed. The installation will start automatically once all listed programs are closed (it might take a few seconds). ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 Installation Guide 9
11. The progress will be displayed during installation. After the installation is finished, click Next. 12. You can now choose the open the getting started or directly run the tool. Click finish to end the installation process. ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 Installation Guide 10
2.5 License The licensing of ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 works as below If you do not have a valid license, ETAS CONGRA will be available in grace mode for 14 days. If you have obtained the valid permanent license, ETAS CONGRA will be available for use Permanently. On expiry of the grace period or the license, the ETAS CONGRA will not be launched or loaded. 3 Starting with ETAS CONGRA Start the ETAS CONGRA by clicking on the.exe icon available from the start menu. Select the workspace path in which you want to work The ETAS CONGRA is now started ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 Installation Guide 12
3.1 Settings Before first use, Maxima has to be activated: Click on the menu Window > Preferences Select the preference Constraint Graph > Solver and activate the Internal Cache and Maxima and press the Apply button. The internal cache will speed up the tool by reusing solutions already calculated For more details about the Solvers and their configuration please read the ETAS CONGRA User Guide.pdf or via the menu Help > Help Contents > Constraint Graph User Guide > Tasks > Preferences of the Constraint Graph Tool > Configuration of the Solvers Configure the maxima installation directory via the Solver > Maxima preference ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 Installation Guide 13

Select the generator you want For more details about the Generators and their configuration please read the ETAS CONGRA User Guide.pdf or via the menu Help > Help Contents > Constraint Graph User Guide > Tasks > Triggering the generators Files are generated in the working directory. Please make sure that the respective access rights for this folder are available. 3.2 Simulation in MATLAB To activate interaction of the tool with MATLAB for simulation of s-functions, the connection between ETAS CONGRA Tool and MATLAB has to be configured. First make sure MATLAB is installed on your system Then click on the menu Window > Preferences Select the MATLAB /Simulink preference ETAS CONGRA V1.3.0 Installation Guide 16

In the following dialog, enter the appropriate update site and select the feature(s) to be installed. 3.4 Start using the tool To start using the features of the tool it is helpful to start with one of the examples provided with the tool: With context menu (right click) New > Example in the Project Explorer. Or with the menu File > New > Example Note: For most of the functionality of the ETAS CONGRA it is necessary to activate a Computer Algebra System as Solver (see the Settings chapter).
