2 1 Safety Notice =========================== Calibration activities influence the behavior of the ECU and the systems controlled by the ECU. This may result in unexpected behavior of the vehicle and thus can lead to safety critical situations. Only well trained personnel should be allowed to perform calibration activities. Sending CAN messages influences the behavior of the CAN bus network and the systems connected to it. This may result in unexpected behavior of the vehicle and thus can lead to safety critical situations. Only well trained personnel should be allowed to perform CAN message sending activities. Calibrate measurement (Write to RAM) activities influence the behavior of the ECU and the systems controlled by the ECU. This may result in unexpected behavior of the vehicle and thus can lead to safety critical situations. Only well trained personnel should be allowed to perform calibrate measurements activities. 2 Introduction =========================== An INCA service pack is one single ZIP file containing - Latest INCA hotfix - Latest updates of the most important related INCA Add-ons - Installation routine, which automatically installs the INCA hotfix and updates the add-ons already installed on the user s PC. - Add-ons, which are not installed on the user s PC, will not be installed / updated. Important: Add-ons has to be installed at the first time manually, e.g. from product CD/DVD. This may also require a valid license key. - Hotfix and add-ons are available in the ZIP as single/separate installations as well. It is still possible to create user/company specific installations if required. An update of an installed add-on can be done manually by starting the corresponding installation (Add-on_Name.exe) Note: The update installation might not provide a complete installation of the corresponding Add-On. - Hotfixes and add-ons will no longer be available on the download page as single downloads - Service packs will be offered for INCA V7.0 and higher Release_Notes_INCA_V700_ServicePack_V17.docx Seite 2 von 34

3 - The release notes of the included add-ons are collected in folder "Release_Notes" After successful installation with Setup_ServicePack they are available at Program-Menu -> ETAS -> INCA 7.0 -> Readme see folder "INCA_ServicePack" 3 System Requirements =========================== Same like the included INCA hotfix and add-on installations 4 Installation =========================== Important: - INCA and the required add-ons has to be installed. The service pack provides only the update of the included add-ons. - All applications, but at least all ETAS applications, has to be closed. - Extract/Copy the complete structure (including all folders) of the Service Pack to any share. Note: Do not change the folder structure or folder-names or any name of install-executables of the service pack (The complete content of \IN\ OR \JP\ is required!) - To start installation of the service pack, double click Setup_ServicePack.exe - After the installation a reboot is required. - Silent installation of the INCA Service Pack > The installation with Setup_ServciePack might be also started in silent mode with start parameter /s > In case of successful installation of all required installations the errorlevel "0" is returned. > Reboot of the system has to be done via script or manually. - New parameter with V1.0.0: \r: Reinstall the installed HF/Add-Ons in the correct order. Note: only the installed Add-Ons (shipped with the SP) will be installed again. 9 Important hints for operation with ES581.3: To support multiple clients with ES581.3 a major/structural change of INCA, driver and firmware was required. - When upgrading any of the INCA Versions V7.0 or V7.1 with INCA V7.0 SP15 or V7.1 SP2 also the corresponding other version needs to be upgraded to the new version. - If J2534 is used (e.g. for 3rd party access on ES581.3), an update of the ES581-J2534 driver to V2.0.7 or higher (part of HSP V10.2.0) is required. - Ensure the USB driver is updated to the latest version (part of HSP V10.2.0) Note: The ES581.3 firmware is automatically updated from the driver (if required). Currently only one baud rate supported. If a second CAN is initialized with a second baud rate, the baud rate of the first CAN might be overwritten. > ES581.3 further important information - see SP9 for details.
