4 1 Introduction INCA-MIP-V16.0 is an add-on product to INCA, the ETAS product for measurement and calibration. 5 3 Product Definition 3.1 INCA-MIP BASE INCA-MIP BASE provides a set of basic MATLAB commands which are intended to automate measurement and calibration procedures and it is available free of charge. 3.2 INCA-MIP EXTENDED INCA-MIP EXTENDED has a significantly larger command set which, in addition to pure measure and calibration activities, also allow access towards basic tasks in the Database Manager and the Hardware Configuration Editor. Moreover with INCA MIP EXTENDED it is possible to create stand-alone MATLAB scripts. For using the extended functionality a license key is required. Page 5 of 12

6 3.4 General Description Safety Notice Please respect the Safety Notice stated in the INCA Release Notes System Prerequisites The following minimum system prerequisites have to be met: Required Hardware Required Operating System 2 GHz Processor 2 GB RAM DVD-ROM drive (for installation) Network adapter Graphics with a resolution of at least 1024 x 768, 256 MB RAM, 16bit color and DirectX 9 Windows XP SP3 (32bit) or higher, Windows Vista SP1 (32bit) or higher, Windows 7 SP1 (32 or 64bit) or higher. (INCA uses the 32bit compatibility mode on a 64-bit operating system) (English, French, Japanese, Chinese and German OS version supported) Required Free Disk Space 1 GB not including the size for user data (absolute min. required, but not recommended) The following system prerequisites are recommended: Recommended Hardware Recommended Operating System 3 GHz Quad-Core Processor or equivalent 4 GB RAM DVD-ROM drive (for installation) Network adapter Graphics with a resolution of at least 1280 x 1024, 1GB RAM, 32bit color and DirectX 9 Windows 7 SP1 64bit (INCA uses the 32bit compatibility mode on a 64-bit operating system) (English, French, Japanese, Chinese and German OS version supported) Recommended Free Disk Space Recommendation on Performance >10 GB Investigation on performance showed: - More Memory improves execution time of repetitive operations - SSD hard disks improve the file access times Page 6 of 12

7 3.4.4 Software Prerequisites INCA V7.x SP7 or above must be installed before the installation of the INCA-MIP add-on. To work with INCA-MIP V you need the following software: MATLAB from the following releases 2007B,2008A,2008B,2009A,2009B,2010A,2010B,2011A,2011B,2012A Restrictions None Miscellaneous None 3.5 Delivery The INCA-MIP software is delivered together with the INCA Software DVD. The DVD contains an installation routine including INCA-MIP software, documentation. All software documentation is available in the Portable Document Format (PDF), which requires Adobe Reader. You find the installation link in the Tools & Utilities directory on the installation DVD Used 3rd Party Software A MATLAB installation is required. INCA-MIP is directly integrated into the MATLAB installation. After updating the MATLAB Toolbox cache INCA-MIP is ready to use. 3.6 Installation The installation can be done via the user interface started by the DVD. This installation consists of basic and extended MATLAB commands. For using the extended commands a valid license ISW_MIP_LIC V7.0 has to be ordered. For more details see chapter "Licensing the Software" in the INCA-MIP Documentation Installation Hints (Installation into ETASData) In this case no MATLAB installation is required. INCA-MIP is copied into subdirectory "INCA- MIP" in the ETASData directory. To use INCA-MIP from MATLAB the MATLAB PATH variable has to be extended by the INCA- MIP directory and the MATLAB Toolbox cache has to be updated before using INCA-MIP. For more details see chapter "Installing INCA-MIP Add-on" in the INCA-MIP Documentation Licensing INCA-MIP EXTENDED is protected via electronic licensing. In order to run and use the products, a license file is required. The license needs to be installed via the ETAS License Manager. The license manager is opened during the installation and can also be started at a later point as an external program located in the ETAS program folder in the Start menu. The license file can be obtained through a self service portal on the ETAS website by using the software entitlement you received during the order process or it is provided by your tool coordinator. Problem Number Fixed with V Title It is not possible to install AddOn INCA-MIP from the Service Pack 8 (includes LiMa Beta Version). Fixed with V INCA 7.0 MIP not working with IncaGetRecords command INCA-MIP IncaGet/SetRecordingProperties: Unique IDs for recording file format are not unique 4.4 Known Issue Reports If a product issue develops, ETAS will prepare a Known Issue Report (KIR) and post it on the internet. The report includes information regarding the technical impact and status of the solution. Therefore you must check the KIR applicable to this ETAS product version and follow the relevant instructions prior to operation of the product.
