Welcome to the new Front Page of your Community Portal. The Community portal has been divided into two separate sections: 1) Local Community News 2) Local Schools within the Community LOCAL COMMUNITY NEWS PORTAL: 1. New Features Within the Local Community News Portal you can find not only your all of your Local News, Weather, TV / Movie listings, but also National News, Streaming Broadband Video. Search the internet using the GOOGLE search engine. There are many more features on our new portals such as Sports, Finance, Entertainment which includes music, movies and games, along with a Pets Corner and a Recipes area. Navigate the Local Community News Portal using the black horizontal navigation bar located at the top of the page to access the different content that matters to you. Also on the homepage is a featured module called Today @ gotricounty.com. Within this module you can access the Latest Headlines, Classifieds and Photos along with the Upcoming Events in your Community. There are many different ways in which you are now given the ability to contribute to the community portal. We encourage you to click on the Post Your News, Post your Classifieds, Post your Events and Post your Photos links that displayed across the portal on several inside pages. We hope you will utilize these features as a way for you to let people in the community know more about you and your business. For specifics on submitting content please read the LOCAL CONTENT PARTNERS section. A new feature that was just added is the ability to customize your homepage. You have the ability to organize your homepage exactly the way that you want. a. Add, and remove our suggested News feeds homepage, or add your own. b. Organize your homepage by using Drag and Drop. c. Track additional weather locations in your weather module. 2. Registration: In order to customize your homepage you will first need to Register for the portal. To register, click on the Sign-up tab within the Welcome Guest module on the right column. You must enter information the following fields: Username, Password, Re-enter Password, Salutation/Title, First Name, Last Name, Zip code and Email. Press the Register button.

Note: when you register for the TriCounty site, you have registered for both the Local News portal and the Local School portals. Your username and password will be the same for both portals. Once you have registered, you will receive a Welcome Email (see following example) which will have your Username and Password to login. The SUBJECT of the email is: Welcome to the gotricounty.com Community Portal. (Please save this email for reference if you ever need to access your username or password.) Example of Welcome Email: Subject: Welcome to the gotricounty.com Community Portal Dear Tiger, Congratulations! You have successfully registered for gotricounty.com. Please use the following information to sign in to your account (and be sure to remember that the login information is case sensitive, so in the example below the user would have to enter a capital T and lowercase iger when logging in the username and password): Username: Tiger Password: Tiger The gotricounty.com page gives you instant access to all of your favorite content, services and features in true broadband style. From streaming video and customization options, to local weather and movie previews, you can create your own personalized home page! At gotricounty.com, you can: Get the news you want from all your favorite sites delivered to you via RSS feed! Find answers quickly by searching with the integrated Google search box at the top of each page. See the latest news and movie previews in crisp, streaming video. Organize your content almost any way you desire. The gotricounty.com Team portal@gotricounty.com 3. Log in and begin customizing your Homepage: Once you have registered successfully, you can login to the portal and start customizing your homepage. Once you log in you, the Welcome Guest module will say Welcome your username. To customize your homepage click the Click to get started within this module Logged out: Logged In: 4. Customize your homepage: You have the ability to customize your homepage by adding, removing and changing where modules display. This functionality is only available on the homepage. Note: There are many modules on your gotricounty.com website. A module is a box that contains a subject/category within it. For example below there are modules for HEALTH, ABC News: Top Stories, etc.. a. Drag and Drop to move modules: If you would like to move a module put your curser over the module title and make sure you see the 4 arrows. Once you have the 4 arrows, right click keeping your hand on the right click button on the mouse and drag and drop (let go of the right click button) the module into one of the 3 columns.

b. Add a Feed to your Homepage: To add a Feed to your Homepage (aka: RSS - Real Simple Syndication) feed click on the Click here to get started from the Welcome module on the homepage or click on the Feeds tab within the featured module. From here you may browse through all of the Suggested Feeds or conduct a Search for a specific feed. Once you have found an RSS feed you that you want to add, click on the name of the feed. The RSS feed will appear under the Welcome module within the right column. Place your cursor over the module title until you see the 4 arrows cursor feedback. Drag and drop the module into one of the 3 columns within the bottom section of your homepage. NOTE: The feature module will alert you with the number of additional modules you can add to your homepage. Clicking the EDIT button in the top right of the module on your homepage allows you to customize that module different ways: 1. Change the module title 2. Change the number of headlines that display in the module 3. Change the size of the photos that display in the module (small or large). 4. Condense/expand a module selecting the arrow button in the top right of the module 5. Remove a module by selecting the X button in the top right of the module 5. Posting content via the portal You can Post your news from within the main Local page or you may click on a specific TOPIC or PUBLISHER which will submit your post to that specific TOPIC or PUBLISHER.

NOTE: If you are posting directly to a topic or publisher this field will automatically be determined for you. a. Post your News Article (continued): Enter the information requested. Headline for Article (required): Author (required): Description of Article (required_: URL (optional): Photos (optional): You can upload up to 3 images for a news article. You must choose one of the options below: Option to allow users to contact you via email. Note: Your email address will be displayed within your post. Make sure to include contact information in the description of your post. Option to NOT allow users to contact me via email. Note: Your email address will not be displayed within your post. PREVIEW ARTICLE: After you have entered your information you will have the ability to preview your article before submitting it to our editors for review. Once your news article has been submitted you will receive an email similar to the one to the right: The email will provide you with a URL and a password so you can review, edit or delete your article at anytime. Once your article has been submitted, one of the TriCounty editors will be reviewing the post. If the article is accepted, it will be published to the portal. Navigate the Local Schools Portal using the black horizontal navigation bar located at the top of the page to access the different schools that matters to you. Also on the homepage is a featured module called Today @ gotricounty.com. Within this module you can access the Latest Headlines, Photos along with the Upcoming Events in your Community for your school. The Local Schools portal provides students, teachers and parents to stay current on what is happening at a particular school. Visitors are allowed to submit content to a specific school or a department. To submit content, see Post an article, Post an event, Post a Photo under the Local Community News Portal. We have separated the School information onto a separate portal. To access the Schools portal, click on the View the latest news & events Local Schools on the top right of the portal.
