1 Fullwood Primary School Frog Parent User Guide

2 Frog work wells on Windows and Macintosh (Apple) operating systems. If you use a Windows operating system at home, we have found that Frog works best on Google Chrome. 1) Logging onto Frog To access Frog type the following URL into your address bar: After you will be taken to the Frog Login page Enter your Username and Password here and then click Login. 2) After Logging On After logging on you will be taken to your own personal timeline page. This will show anything you have created, done or received on Frog. If a teacher sends a quiz or piece of homework, you will be told here on the timeline. When you first log into Frog, your class page and subject pages should already be shared with you.

3 3) Three Main Dashboards There are three main dashboards when you log into Frog. These are: i) Your personal timeline ii) Your own personal dashboard Here you can use the Widgets to create your own page. Only you can view this. iii) The school dashboard This is the school page(s) where information for all parents will be uploaded. These areas can be accessed by clicking on the three dots at the top of the Frog page. If the dot is white, this means you are on that dashboard. 4) The School Dashboard In the image above, it shows the School Dashboard. This page will be updated with general updates and any news relating to the school. Homepage The homepage holds information for parents School Website On this page you can view and navigate around the school website without having to open a new tab in your internet window. Class Room Links This area contains topic webs for the current half term and links to all class sites. Each class has their own site which contains more information which is relevant to your child and their class.

4 5) How do I get to my child s class site? There are two ways of getting into your child s class site. Firstly you can go via the school dashboard. By clicking on the tab Children s Learning you will find a page with Site Links to all class pages. Locate your child s class site link and click on it. It will take you directly to that site. Secondly, regardless of where you are in Frog, you can use the search bar to locate your child s class site. This can also be used to search for subject sites. All sites can be search with just keywords. This helps the children to find sites easily especially for the younger children where they may not be confident in spelling. Class sites will contain information which is only relevant to that class or Year Group. This will help to keep the whole school area tidy without overloading it with information which may not be relevant for all parents. The class teacher AND children will be responsible for updating the class sites. The class will decide how their class site is laid out so it may be different for each class site if you have more than one child in the school. Allowing the class to decide will allow the Class Site to become more personal for the children and their learning.

5 Learning Journey Pages Each phase group will have a Learning Journey Page. These will be linked within Class Pages. This is a good opportunity for parents and children to see any relevant information about their current learning journey. If you want to come out of the class site and return to the main dashboards, click on the X in the top right hand corner of the Frog page. This will close the class site. Alternatively, you can click on the orange Home button at the top of the page. This will return you to the main dashboards but will keep the class site open in the background.

6 6) What do the other button s at the top of page do? i) Quick Launch By clicking on Quick Launch, you will be able to quickly access certain applications that Frog have. Assignments Any assignments or pieces of homework set by class teachers can be located here. Calendar You and your children can record events in the calendar application. Discover An in built search tool. You and your children can search for images and videos from Google and Youtube. These can then be uploaded to your personal Frog drive and can be used in your Frog pages. Sites Here the children can access any sites that they are able to view.

7 ii) Frog Drive Frog drive provides each member with a specific area to store files and documents. These can be uploaded from your computer, laptop or tablet. With Frog Drive you can also view sites and any Frog applications. iii) Application Tray By clicking on the Application Tray button, a drop down menu will appear. It will show any applications or sites that you have opened and haven t closed. It will allow you quick and easy access back to that site or application. You can only have up to ten sites or applications open at any time. To close an application or site, click on the red and white cross next to its icon.

8 iv) Notifications When you have received something like an assignment or message, or if a site has been shared with you, you will be notified and it will appear here. v) Frog Icon Clicking the Frog icon will give you different options. You can change some of your preferences (Background settings etc.), search for help with Frog or log out.

9 7) How do I customise my own personal dashboard? Each member of Frog has their own personal dashboard to customise and create their own space. The children will be given opportunities to work on their spaces in class to ensure that it links in with their learning. To create your personal space you will need to use the widgets in the editing toolbox. The widgets allow you to put a range of different features (text boxes, media pictures and videos, RSS feeds, etc.) to create your space. The children will be learning about these widgets in school and will be asked to assist you at home when creating the family dashboard. At the end of this guide there is a guide to what each of the widgets do and what their icons look like.
