Troubleshoot TEMS Communication Problems in Multiple TCP/IP Stack Environments 1 Customer Environment 2 Problem Description 2.1 No data on TEP from z/os managed agents 1

2.2 KM2CTINI error message when accessin g Hub TEMS from Omegamon II for MVS 2

Figure 2: KM2CTINI error message 3 Root Cause Analysis 3

3.1 Stale remote TEMS ephemeral entries in HUB GLB 3.2 Multiple TCP/IP Stacks 4

3.3 Incorrect DNS Specifications 3.4 One-to-many DNS resolutions of a hostname to IP address 4 Remedy 4.1 Remove all EPHEMERAL configurations 5

4.2 Explicit identification of the TCP/IP stack 6

TCPIP00. 2. 9.168.119.93 TCPIP_USERID= * TCPIP_USERID=TCPIP 7

4.3 DNS Corrections NSLOOKUP hhhh Where hhhh is the z/os Lpar hostname The IP address returned from the DNS should match the IP address obtained above in section 4.2.1. If DNS definitions are inconsistent, you may update the host s file on the Windows TEMS to include the host name of the incorrect Lpar and the primary IP address. The host s file is contained in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc Very important: Once all the z/os LPAR DNS definitions have been corrected and match the expected IP addresses identified in section 4.2.2, there is no need to implement the action below, 4.4 KDEB_INTERFACELIST. 4.4 Use KDEB_INTERFACELIST 8

5 Environment Health Check 5.1 ITMSuper output 5.2 Logs with communication traces 5.3 Needed check to be done 9
