1. What does the DSM Brand Center offer? In the DSM Brand Center, you can find everything you need to know about the DSM Brand Guidelines. 1.1. What can I do with it? The DSM Brand Center offers: Access to the DSM Brand guidelines Vision, mission & rationale of the brand, brand architecture, basic brand elements, logos, visual devices, colors, typography, photography, wording, instructions on how to apply the brand to marketing collateral, stationery, signage, company clothing, crockery, websites etc. Digital Asset Management A library containing downloadable files that are intended for re-use by designers, such as logo files, visual device files, images and design files for marketing collateral and many other of the above-mentioned brand items. Online creation of collateral Allows DSM users to create print-ready files, such as leaflets or posters, by means of a userfriendly web application. 2. How can I access the DSM Brand Center? 2.1. Login for DSM Employees All DSM employees connected to the DSM network, can access the DSM Brand Center by: a. browsing directly to: https://brandcenter.dsm.com/ b. Click on the I am a DSM employee link on the homepage
2.2. Login for External parties 2.2.1. Requesting Access to the DSM Brand Center To request access to the DSM Brand Center as an External party, visit: https://brandcenter.dsm.com Click on Request Access Fill in the requested fields. All fields are mandatory. Please note: It s recommended to choose a strong password that contains at least 1 capital letter, 1 number and 1 special character. Please read the User Terms & Conditions and tick the checkbox. Click Send Request. You will be informed by the DSM contact person as soon as your request has been accepted or rejected.
2.2.2. Logging into the DSM Brand Center Browse directly to: https://brandcenter.dsm.com/ And click on the I am a DSM employee link on the homepage Fill in your email address in the field User Name. Fill in your password. Click the Login button. 2.2.3. Reset of forgot password To request a password reset of your account, visit: https://brandcenter.dsm.com Click on Forgot password Enter your e-mail address in the field. Click on Request An e-mail will be send to your account with a link to reset your password.
3. Downloads section In the downloads section, you can find the image bank. This contains a collection of images related to DSM products, markets and campaigns. Images can be previewed and easily downloaded. Don t forget to consult the user rights if you want to use them for external purposes! 3.1. Search and view Click on downloads in the top navigation menu There are four main categories: Core Brand Visual Elements Product Logos Images Published Items As an example, we will download an item from the Images category. Click on Imagebank You will then be given an overview of all downloadable assets. The default setting displays all items. There are two ways to refine the search results. Option 1) is to use the free search metadata function. This searches the text associated with all items.
You can save your search by clicking on the Saved Searches button. Then click on Save Current Search You can execute a saved search by clicking on the Saved Searched button and give it a name. Then click on your saved search Option 2) is to use the predefined facets. You can filter according to as many facets as you want by checking the checkbox. You can always remove facets by unchecking the checkbox of the selected facet.
3.2. Add assets to basket There are 2 ways to add an item to your basket. Option 1) The first option is to click on the asset and click on Add Asset to add the item to your basket. You can add multiple assets by holding ctrl + clicking the assets and click on Add Asset in the Basket section. Option 2) The second option is to open the asset by double clicking on the asset from the overview page. Then click on Add to Basket 3.3. Download basket To download the assets in your basket, go to the Basket section and select Download basket A process will now start in the background which puts the downloads into a ZIP file.
You can download the.zip file directly from your browser. Please note: Don't forget to consult the user rights if you want to use the downloaded items for external purposes! 4. Upload section Both authorized DSM employees and external parties can upload images into the DSM Brand Center. 4.1. Uploading files Click on Upload Assets in the Actions section on the download page. Select Add files Select the files you want to upload and click on the Open button.
Add the mandatory details to the uploaded files: Is the file Rights free (Yes/No) Add a short description Select the correct element from the dropdown menu Select the correct entity from the dropdown menu To upload the files, click on Start Upload Or click on the upload icon The file(s) is/are now uploaded to the DSM Brand Center, waiting for approval by the DSM contact person Please note: Do not use spacing in the file names that you upload, because they will not appear nicely in the detailed overview page! Please inform your DSM contact person after you uploaded a new file so that he/she can approve it! 4.2. Approving files Uploaded files first must be approved by a DSM employee. After a file has been uploaded, it is put in the waiting room. A DSM employee then must check the file and either accept or reject it. Therefore, always inform your DSM contact person after you uploaded a new file. Uploaded files will be put in the waiting room. They first have to be approved by a DSM employee before they become available in
the download sections of the DSM Brand Center. The DSM employee needs to connect to the DSM network and browse to the Adobe AEM inbox: https://wcm.dsm.com/inbox Select the WorkItem of the corresponding uploaded asset in the Adobe AEM inbox. There are 2 options to open the workflow for approval/rejection: Option 1) Select the complete button in the top menu. Option 2) Right-mouse click on the WorkItem and select the complete button In the workflow, there are two options from the dropdown menu: To Accept the asset, select Approve To Reject the asset, select Reject After selecting Approve or Reject, click on OK to proceed the workflow.
Please note: After approval of an asset, the asset will be automatically moved from the waiting room to the corresponding entity folder and will become available in the download section of the DSM Brand Center. After rejection of an asset, the asset will be automatically deleted from the waiting room and will not become available in the download section of the DSM Brand Center. 5. Adding metadata to Digital Assets These instructions will explain the importance of adding proper metadata to uploaded assets and show you how it is done. 5.1. Main classification of uploaded files Main classification While uploading a new asset, you need to assign the correct Element Type to the uploaded asset. Select the appropriate type. You can only select one type. The type you select determines where the asset will appear in the downloads section of the DSM Brand Center. Classifying assets as Core Brand Visual Elements is only allowed by DSM Brand Office employees. 5.2. Image metadata
Rights free: indicates if the rights to use this image are free. If not, inform your DSM contact person about the restrictions. Description: Fill in a short description. Words in this field help you to find files using the search tool in the downloads section. After an asset is uploaded, it must be enriched with metadata in order to be able to show the asset via the facets search on the download pages. DSM Employees login to the Adobe AEM system to enrich the metadata via: https://wcm.dsm.com/damadmi n#/content/dam/brandcenter Browse to the asset in the correct folder. Before approval/rejection all uploaded assets become available in the Waiting Room folder Double click the asset that needs to be enriched with metadata. This will open the asset editor page
It is crucial that the correct facets are added in order to facilitate searching. Click on the dropdown menu in the Tags section Do not remove already existing tags from this list. Otherwise they might not appear on the download page. Select the Brandcenter tab and select the tags that are applicable to the asset. For example: Select the facets, element type, markets & products and tag the asset for the corresponding market & product. 6.
