Guide to your CGIAR Network account Self Service tool The self-service tool allows you to: Change Password: Change your current password from anywhere using your web browser. Reset Password: Reset your forgotten password by answering security questions or using Google Authenticator you setup during enrolment. Unlock Account: Unlock your account if you are locked out for trying using incorrect password many times. You will need answers to your security questions or Google Authenticator you setup during enrolment. Getting Started: Simple! There are only two steps involved: First Step: Enroll for password self-service IMPORTANT: Prior enrolment is required before the application can be used. Enrolment is a simple registration process, wherein you provide the system some information about yourself. When you request a password reset/ account unlock, the system uses this enrollment information to ensure that it indeed YOU that is trying to reset YOUR password or unlock account. Please refer Enrolment below for detail. Second Step: Start using CGIAR network account self-service!
Change Password If your account is about to expire or if you feel your password is compromised and would like to change it, you can go to https://selfservice.cgiar.org and change your password using your current password 1. Type in your email address and password in the Sign in with your network account fields and login 2. Click on Change Password tab 3. Input your current password in the Old Password, your new password in the New Password field and confirm your new password in the Confirm New Password field 4. Click OK when done. Reset Password If you forget your current password and if you set up your security profile in advance, you can go to https://selfservice.cgiar.org and create a new password.
1. Click on the Reset Password 2. Type in your email address in the Domain User Name field and click Continue button 3. Provide the answers to your pre-set security questions or run Google Authenticator??, enter the Captcha words and click Continue 4. Type a new password and confirm it by typing it a second time, enter another Captcha 5. Click Reset Password when done. Unlock Account You can lock yourself out of your account if you attempt to log into any CGIAR system depending with your network account more than 3 times using an incorrect password (your computer, your email ). If you know your password, waiting 30 minutes before attempting to log back in will unlock your account. If you set up your security profile in advance, you can go to https://selfservice.cgiar.org and unlock your account by yourself in a more timely manner. 1. Click on the Unlock Account 2. Type in your email address in the Domain User Name field and click Continue button 3. Provide the answers to your pre-set security questions or run Google Authenticator??, enter the Captcha words and click Continue 4. Enter another Captcha in the following window 5. Click Unlock Account when done. Enrollment To use the Self-service tool, you need to enroll during your first login to the system. Please go to https://selfservice.cgiar.org and login with your username (your cgiar email address) and network password you use to login to your computer on the Sign in with your network account
A pop up window will appear asking you to enroll to use the system. Click on Click Here on the pop up window to be redirected to the enrolling page. Alternatively if you are not taken to the enroll page automatically, please click on the Enrollment tab after logging in. There are three ways to enroll, one is using two security questions and answers you create. The second option is to use alternate email address and the last one is using Google Authenticator using your Android / iphone / Blackberry smart phone. 1. Enrollment using Security Q&A: Enroll yourself by answering a set of questions. In future, when you request password request or account unlock, the Self-service tool will ask you these questions to verify your identity. Steps to be followed to enroll using Security Questions and Answers: Once logged in, click on the Enrollment tab. Select the Security Questions tab. Selecting the two Security Questions from a list and answering them Once you have answered Security Questions, hit the Save or Update button.
2. Enrollment by Verification Code: Enroll yourself by reproducing a verification code sent to your alternate email address by the Selfservice application. Steps to be followed to enroll using Verification Code: Once logged in with your respective domain credentials, click on the Enrollment tab Select the Verification Code tab Enter your alternate (other than CGIAR) email address in the Register Your Email Address(es) field and click on Save or Update button. 3. Enrollment using Google Authenticator: Enroll yourself by configuring your Google Authenticator app with CGIAR Self-service. Please note that you need to have Google Authenticator installed on your smart phone/device prior to enroll using this process. Steps to be followed to enroll using Google Authenticator: Once logged in with your respective domain credentials, click on the Enrollment tab Select the Google Authenticator tab Here you will be presented with information on how to configure your Google Authenticator app with the Self-service application.
Once you have finished the process, hit the Update button. After you finish doing any one of the above three ( Security Questions, Verification Code or Google Authenticator ) or all, please click on the Enroll button to finish your enrolment. A message stating that you have enrolled yourself with the system gets displayed. That s it! With your security profile in place, you can come back to this tool 24/7 and unlock, reset and/or change your account password by yourself without the need to contact your helpdesk.
