I. GO! RES & INTERNET EXPLORER 7 NOTES & MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Internet Explorer 7 is currently available for download from the Microsoft site: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/aa740486.aspx Beginning November 2006 Internet Explorer 7 will be included with Windows Update. Security updates typically download with little or no user intervention, but with Internet Explorer 7, users will get an extra opportunity to elect not to upgrade. Also, even users using automatic updates will have to agree to let Microsoft check whether their copy of Windows is pirated before they can get Internet Explorer 7. Note: Worldspan customers who use Worldspan sourced equipment, must first go to the Go! Self Serve Page at https://gopublic.wspan.com/selfserve/index.aspx?currentversion=19& and follow the instructions for Information for customers using Worldspan sourced equipment with Windows XP SP2 and Internet Explorer 7. at the bottom of the list to allow your equipment to receive updates to upgrade to IE 7 and have the correct settings for Go! Res installation. The Go! Self serve page can be accessed by 1) clicking the link above, 2) pasting the above link in your browsers address bar and pressing enter, or 3) from the Go! login page Go! Self Serve link. 1. INTERNET EXPLORER 7 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Below are the minimum requirements to run Internet Explorer 7. Some components may require additional system resources not outlined below. Internet Explorer 7 will run on Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). 1

II. GO! RES & INTERNET EXPLORER 7 UPGRADE TO IE 7 FAQ SUPPORT 1. WHAT IF I TRY TO INSTALL IE 7 WITHOUT A REQUIRED OPERATING SYSTEM OR SERVICE PACK? Internet Explorer 7 will not install unless the machine has all the operating system requirements (see above). For example, if a user tries to download Internet Explorer 7 and doesn t have Service Pack 2 installed with Windows XP, Internet Explorer 7 will not install. This happens because without Service Pack 2 most of the security features of Internet Explorer 7 get disabled and Windows will not allow it. The following message will display if the required service pack is not installed: 2. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I INSTALL IE 7 AND ACCESS GO! RES FOR THE FIRST TIME? Go! Res requires scriptlets and some ActiveX controls to be allowed to run in the browser to function properly. Go! Res has been enhanced to automatically enable scriptlets and ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer 7. The message below will now display in Go! Res if either one of these settings is not enabled in the browser. Once the settings have been enabled this popup will no longer display. Click Yes to close the browser will display the following Internet Explorer message: 2

Click Yes on the above message to close the browser. Once the browser is closed, the user will have to open a new browser and access Go! Res again. 3. WHAT CAN I DO IF THE TERMINAL EMULATOR IS NOT DISPLAYING IN GO! RES? Go! Res requires the Allow Scriptlets property be enabled to properly run in Internet Explorer 7. When this property is not set the terminal emulator and menu options will not display. See screen below for an example of Go! Res running in Internet Explorer 7 without this setting. A blank white screen in the Res area is the symptom. 3

If Go! Res is unable to automatically set the Allow Scriptlets setting, the user will need to follow the steps below to manually enable this setting in Internet Explorer 7. Click on Tools on the right hand side of the menu bar, and select Internet Options from the drop down menu. Click on the Security tab, click on Trusted sites and then click on the Custom level button. 4

Scroll down and look for the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section and the Allow Scriptlets setting. Click on Enable for this setting and then click OK. A warning message will display. Click Yes to change settings. 5

Internet Options window will still be displayed. Click OK to accept new setting. Logout of Go! Res and close the browser window. Open a new browser window and access Go! Res again. 4. WHAT CAN I DO IF ACTIVEX ERRORS ARE DISPLAYING IN GO! RES? Go! Res uses ActiveX controls in several web pages. When the property Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting is disabled some of the functions in Go! Res will not work properly, such as Ctrl+S from the terminal emulator and the System page. See below for examples of the messages displayed when the user clicks on Ctrl+S and when the user clicks on the System page: Example of error message when user clicks Ctrl+S from the Res window: 6

Example of error message displayed when user clicks on Tools, System: If Go! Res is unable to automatically set the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting setting, the user will need to follow the steps below to manually enable this setting in IE 7. Click on Tools on the right hand side of the menu bar, and select Internet Options from the drop down menu. 7

Click on the Security tab, click on Trusted sites and then click on the Custom level... button. 8

Scroll down and look for the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section and the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting setting. Click on Enable for this setting and then click OK. A warning message will display. Click Yes to change settings. Internet Options window will still be displayed. Click OK to accept new setting. Logout of Go! Res and close the browser window. Open a new browser window and access Go! Res again. 9

5. HOW CAN I VIEW THE INTERNET EXPLORER 7 MENU BAR WHILE IN GO! RES? When Go! Res first displays, the browser is automatically set to full screen mode to allow for optimal viewing of information in the Res windows. See below: To view the Internet Explorer 7 menu bar simply move the mouse towards the very top of the screen. See below in the red highlighted area for an example: To view the Go! Res menu bar again move the mouse and click anywhere inside the Go! Res app. The Internet Explorer 7 menu bar will be hidden. 10

6. WHAT CAN I DO IF THE HOME PAGE IS NOT DISPLAYING BECAUSE OF A POP-UP BLOCKER? When Pop-up Blocker is turned on, the Home page is blocked when the user logs into Go! Res. The following message will display on the top of the screen: Pop-up blocked message example in Go! Res: To allow the Home page to always display: Click on the pop-up blocked message (as shown above). A menu will display. Click on Always Allow Pop-ups from This Site from the menu. Click Yes on Allow pop-ups from this site? confirmation message: 11

7. MY GO! RES ICON IS WRONG AFTER NEWLY INSTALLING GO! RES ON IE 7. HOW DO I FIX IT? Currently in IE 7, Go! Res does not complete the icon creation and you are left with a Windows default icon. This should be fixed on a subsequent version of Go! Res. This is the icon you are seeing. Below are the steps to return it to the standard Go! icon. Right click on the icon and choose Properties from the drop down menu. The following will display. Click on the Change Icon button. Click the Browse button. 12

Use the slide bar and go to the right until you see the file url.dll. Click once on this file to highlight it and then click on the Open button at the bottom of the page. Click once on the icon at the top (marked by an asterisk), which is the standard Go! Res icon. The click OK at the bottom of the page. 13

Click OK to save the change. Your icon is restored. 8. I LOSE FULL SCREEN AFTER I EXIT AND REOPEN MY BROWSER, HOW DO I GET IT BACK? Depending on your settings and the Windows that automatically open, you may get knocked out of Full Screen Mode the next time you open your browser. IE 7 currently will only operate one multiple tab browser session in Full Screen Mode. Subsequent browser sessions that are opened will be in Standard browser display mode. It is important to note that the last browser window that is closed and the mode it is in will control the setting the next time you open a browser session. The easiest way to return your browser to Full Screen Mode if it has been disabled is to press the F11 key on your keyboard. The F11 key will also take you out of Full Screen, it effectively acts as a toggle between modes. 9. WHY DOESN T MY TASK BAR POP OUT WHEN I M IN FULL SCREEN MODE? This is the current design of IE 7. The task bar will not pop out when you move the mouse to the edge of the screen in Full Screen mode. There are two ways to display it. Press the <Ctrl> and <Esc> keys at the same time or press the Windows Key (pictured below) to view the task bar in Full Screen Mode. 10. HOW DO I FIND A TABLE OF ALL THE SHORTCUT KEY STROKES FOR IE 7? Microsoft has published a Quick Reference Sheet for IE 7. You can find it at the following site: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/about/quickreference.mspx 14

11. CAN I UNINSTALL INTERNET EXPLORER 7 AND GO BACK TO INTERNET EXPLORER 6? Yes, to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP follow these steps: Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel." Click "Add or Remove Programs." Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box. Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 you are running, and then click "Change/Remove." III. NEW INSTALL OF GO! RES USING INTERNET EXPLORER 7 Note: These instructions replace Section III, B, 2 in the Installation Instructions for WinXP of the Go! Tool kit when configuring Go! Res for the first time on a PC with IE 7 already installed. 1. CONFIGURING THE IE 7 BROWSER ENVIRONMENT FOR GO! RES Right click the Internet Explorer (7) icon on your desktop and chose Properties from the drop down menu. The Internet Properties or Options Screen will appear. Scroll down a few more and look for the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting setting. Click on Enable for this setting. Click on OK to save the changes. A warning message will display. Click Yes to change settings. 16

The Internet Properties window will still be displayed. Click OK to accept new setting. Open a new browser window and access Go! Res by entering go.worldspan.com in the address bar. Click Yes to close the browser will display the following Internet Explorer message: 17

Click Yes on the above message to close the browser. Once the browser is closed, the user will have to open a new browser and access Go! Res again. Continue with the Installation Instructions for WinXP section IV, B, 1 in the Go! Tool Kit, located under the link for Frame or Broadband. 18
