Fidbox-App Installation Guide
Important information about room climate: People spend at least two-thirds of their lives indoors. The quality of the indoor air therefore plays an important role in our health. Dust, cigarette smoke, bacteria, odours - all this, affects the quality of the most crucial air that we breath. Indoor air quality indoors is given far too little attention. It contributes significantly to enhance physical and mental performance ability, as well as ensuring a comfortable climate in our place of habitation, whether it be at home or in the office. Congratulations! You have chosen the fidbox for your floor and selected the appropriate fidbox app for monitoring. You can now control your indoor environment better by using this long-term monitoring system. This allows you to pay more intense attention to your health and the health of your family. At the same time you have the ability to keep a close eye on your use of costly energy. If values are exceeded or not reached, the app warns you and adjustments in the indoor environment can be made. Every eight hours, the temperature and humidity are measured and stored. The collected data can be retrieved via the app every day. The app also keeps many practical tips and tricks for a healthy indoor environment ready. The Fidbox App is currently available in the App Store for iphone / ipad under the name fidbox! An Android fidbox App is being prepared now and will be available soon. 2
Before you install the App, make sure that your device meets the technical requirements. Compatible Apple-Devices: ipad (Air, Mini, 3, 4) iphone (4s, 5, 5c, 5s, 6, 6 Plus) ipod Touch (5. Generation) Your device must have the operating system ios 7 or newer! Be sure that your Bluetooth function is turned on and that the little Bluetooth symbol ( ) at the top of your screen is visible. 3
Getting the App from the App Store Just enter the name Fidbox in the search omnibox and start your search. Once the App Store has found the Fidbox you will see the following display. If you scroll downward you will find the details of the App. 4
Setting up the Fidbox App on a Smart Phone or tablet After a successful download you will find this registration mask on the screen. If you just want to add a Fidbox, you will need to login. If this is the first Fidbox registration then you should click on Not yet registered. Please note the Fidbox App does not function without the presence of a Fidbox V6 with Bluetooth. The Fidbox App needs to be connected to the internet via a WiFi or data connection to operate. The Fidbox App will not work with any previous fidbox versions as they were all with RFID technology and not Bluetooth. 5
Entering the required data Step 1 Enter your User Name use a short name with a minimum of 3 letter characters. All characters should be connected without any spaces. Enter a password which has a minimum of 3 letters or numerical characters without any spaces. Repeat your password Enter your E-Mail address. Entering the required data Step 2 Enter your first name. Enter your family name. Enter your street address. Enter your postal code. Enter the name of your city. 6
Product information Step 3 Select the name of the floor covering manufacturer from the scroll-down or select other if you are not sure. (The German equivalent of Other is Sonstiger Hersteller Select the name of floor covering product from the scroll-down or select other if you are not sure. Size of area and Sync Time Frame Step 4 Select the area size of the installed floor covering product from the scroll-down. Activate the switch for underfloor heating, if you have one. This is the Sync Time Frame. Set the time of the day where you are sure to be at home so that the installed Fidbox can synchronize with your device. The time band is set for 2 hours. E.g. from 06:00 to 08:00 a.m. You can sync with your Fidbox everyday during the time period that you set. (You can change this time period but note the new time period will not change until after the next sync which will be need to be done during the old time period) 7
Welcome message after the App installation process is complete. A welcome to the Fidbox system and a thank you for purchasing a fidbox will appear upon completion of the set-up. Please note the Fidbox App has no function without the presence of a Fidbox V6 with Bluetooth. The Fidbox App will also not work with any previous fidbox versions as they were all with RFID technology and not Bluetooth. Either connect your Fidbox now or close the App. When the installation process is complete, the Fidbox Icon will be displayed on your Smartphone /Tablet. Just click on the Fidbox Icon to start the connect process. 8
Once the installation process is complete you can add your Fidbox to the App and thereafter view the actual room climatic conditions. To add a Fidbox you will need the 6 digit serial number. Now you need to enter the reference name for the Fidbox. This can be the name of the room where it is installed. Example: Livingroom Now you can decide if you wish to add another Fidbox to the App or to view the data from the entered Fidbox. After this process, the entered Fidbox will be searched. This can take up to 8 minutes until it is found. After selection of the desired Fidbox you can start the sync process. As you are in the Overview screen you will see the two arrows in the upper left corner. If you are within the set time frame you can click once on the arrow symbol to start the sync immediately. 9
After the first sync has been completed, the end-user can view his room climatic conditions. Press Overview or Details tab to see the different views. The Overview screen tells you the last time you synched and the next time the Fidbox is available to be synched. The information shown is the current conditions at the time of the sync. In this screen, you can turn your phone sideways to get historical values. Overview View Details View The Detail screen will show target values and precise current values for comparison. By deviation from target values the affected area will have a blinking frame. With the App fully installed, the end-user can view his room climatic conditions. Any deviations found during a sync between the built-in Fidbox and the Fidbox-App will be reported to the enduser so that they can take corrective action before a harmful situation can occur. Each warning has a recommended Action for the enduser to follow. After reading the warning, the warning must be confirmed! 10
Comparison of historical material climatic conditions Turn your device sideways when you are looking at the overview view and you will get the historical data graphs. (Make sure your screen orientation lock is switched off for this function to operate). Click on Help? for more information! Historical data can be read by turning the phone on its side and clicking OK after selecting the desired year. Once the desired year is displayed, double click anywhere on the screen and a selector window for the desired month will appear. Select the month and click once on OK. You can change from temperature to humidity by just swiping across the screen To return to the Overview screen, just hold the phone upright. 11
Setting Adjustments In the upper right hand corner of the App you will find a small wheel. Click on the wheel once and the set-up screen will appear. Further function buttons are available in the display and help with the general settings of the App. Please note that the Account Data button will allow you to change all data entered during the set-up. This will also include adjustments in steps 3 & 4 for a second or third Fidbox installed in an area with material from a different supplier.
