University Information Technology Services Learning Technologies, Training, Audiovisual, and Outreach Connecting from Off Campus to Your Campus PC Using ios Devices Kennesaw State University VPN is the replacement for Hallpass. The following describes how to identify your PC name and connect remotely to your office PC using a VPN connection and a remote desktop connection on an ipad or other ios device. Note: This document was created using an ipad Air 2 (version 11.2.6). Identifying the Windows10 PC Name 1. In the Windows10 taskbar, click the Start menu. 2. Click Settings. 3. The Windows settings window appears. Click System. 4. The System window appears. Click About. Figure 3 - Click System Figure 4 - Click About Page 2 of 12

5. The About window appears. Make note of the Device name for remote desktop access. Figure 5 - About Your PC Installing Microsoft Remote Desktop To connect to your office PC, you will need the Microsoft Remote Desktop App. The following explains how to locate and install Microsoft Remote Desktop: 1. In App Store, search for remote desktop (See Figure 6). 2. In the search results, tap Install Microsoft Remote Desktop (See Figure 6). 3. After installation is complete, tap Open. Configuring Microsoft Remote Desktop 1. To add a new remote desktop connection, tap Add (+). 2. Tap Desktop. Figure 8 - Add Remote Desktop Connection Figure 9 - Select Desktop 3. In the PC name field, enter the KSU computer name you identified in step 5 of Identifying the Windows10 PC Name (See Figure 10). 4. Tap Done (See Figure 10). Figure 10 - PC Name Page 4 of 12

5. Tap Save. Figure 11 Tap Save Note: You will be required to enter your NetID and password every time you tap this remote desktop connection. 6. You have successfully configured a new remote desktop connection to your office PC. Figure 12 - New Remote Desktop Connection Connecting to the GlobalProtect Agent on Your ipad 1. Tap the installed Global Protect Agent App on your device. Figure 13 - Click the GlobalProtect Agent App Page 5 of 12

2. The GlobalProtect Settings window appears. Tap Connect (See Figure 14). Figure 14 - Connect to VPN 3. In the Account field, enter your NetID (See Figure 15). 4. In the Password field, enter your password. (See Figure 15). 5. Tap OKt (See Figure 15). Figure 15 - GlobalProtect Portal 6. You have successfully connected to the KSU VPN. Connecting to Your Office PC with Microsoft Remote Desktop 1. If not already connected to the KSU VPN, tap the GlobalProtect App on your device. Figure 17 - Tap the GlobalProtect App 2. The GlobalProtect Settings window will open. Click Connect. Figure 18 - Click Connect 3. The GlobalProtect VPN agent will open with the portal name pre-populated. Enter your NetID and password (See Figure 19). 4. Tap OK (See Figure 19). Figure 19 - Enter Login Credentials and Connect Page 7 of 12

5. The device status is now connected to the KSU VPN. Tap the Home button on your ipad to access the home screen. Figure 20 - KSU Welcome Window 6. After connecting the KSU VPN, tap the Microsoft Remote Desktop App. Figure 21 - Tap the Microsoft Remote Desktop App 7. The Microsoft Remote Desktop window opens. Tap the Remote Desktop Connection for your office PC. Figure 22 -Tap the Remote Desktop Connection for Your Office PC Page 8 of 12

8. The Client Authentication window opens to verify the connection, click Accept. Figure 23 - Verify Connection Note: To prevent the verification window from opening in the future, slide the button next to Don t ask me again to the right. 9. Disconnecting the Remote Desktop and VPN Connections 1. To disconnect from remote desktop, tap the Connection Bar (See Figure 25). 2. The Command Bars appear on the left and right. 6. You are now disconnected from the KSU VPN.
