Description WCPE and WCBE provide several business-to-consumer and business-to-business enhancements over previous versions of WCS. Business-to-Consumer Availability-to-Promise Inventory Management Shoppers receive an estimated shipping date Merchants keep track of inventory, anticipate demand, and track purchase order and receipts Fulfillment centers receive fulfillment instructions from merchants and generate pick and pack lists Distributors and resellers share inventory in a single fulfillment center among multiple merchants Returns and Refunds enables customers to return the product and get a refund or credit. It also completes the end-to-end inventory management system by allowing for the disposal or return to inventory of the product. Catalog Management Interface and Editor Tool Management interface creates, updates, and deletes catalog entries. You can manage the catalog quickly and directly. Editor tool enables users to find, list, create, update, and delete such items as products attributes and prices. Tools Framework provides an extensive and customizable user interface (UI) framework so that programmers can quickly implement a full-featured UI with a common look and feel. By using existing elements, programmers efforts are greatly reduced. WebSphere Commerce Recommendation Engine Powered by LikeMinds uses collaborative filtering technology to provide personalization solutions. It builds profiles with both users explicit ratings and behavior such as navigation patterns, items added or removed from a shopping basket, and products purchased. Profiles are then matched with special profiles that can be used to recommend items to the user. Based on the click-stream activity of the user, this information is captured and stored accordingly. 25,000 user profiles are included. For 250,000 additional profiles order WebSphere Collaborative Profiles, Commerce Edition. Business Intelligence provides the capability to analyze the performance and effectiveness of various actions and areas of the business, helping merchants evaluate the success of campaigns, initiatives, e-marketing spots, sales, and orders. Tax Integration Kit provides a generic interface to integrate different tax solutions of independent software vendors (ISVs), such as Taxware. The interface defines the set of operations that are supported to access and update the orders for the tax calculation provided by the ISV package. Tools for Store Development and Server Administration Store Development enables third-party JavaServer Pages development environment, such as Dreamweaver. Server Administration includes tools for dynamic logging, tracing, component and registry enablement, and scheduler and broadcast job administration. Security Enhancements include improved password validation, migration of password changes, logon timeout, reentry of passwords, cross-site scripting attack prevention, HTTP, and request tracing. Installation and Serviceability Installation improves the ease of installation and configuration to ensure a system is installed correctly and prerequisites are available. Serviceability allows system administrators to maintain the most recent version of software on their system. The IBM support team can provide fixes to the system. WebSphere Payment Manager (WPM) provides a secure electronic payment process for Internet merchants through a single, unified interface. Based on open standards-based technology, WPM works with plug-ins called payment cassettes to support multiple payment protocols. WCBE includes Offline, SET, CyberCash, VisaNet, and BankServACH cassettes. Enhancements include performance improvements, addition of purchasing card support (Level II and Level III detail) and the BankServACH cassette, which provides connectivity to the U.S. Automated Clearing House (ACH) network to support online electronic check payments. ACH transactions are a commonly used payment method in business-to-business environments and in government applications. Business-to-Business Live Help/Customer Care Collaboration offers an integrated live help and customer care function integrated out-of-the-box and based on Lotus Sametime. This feature allows your partners, suppliers, and customers to have real-time communication with you for decision-making and negotiations. Your business decisions and processes can be streamlined with this collaboration tool making it easier and faster to do business. Financial provides billing, invoicing, and credit management. Access Control enables site administrators and participating organizations to control the participants who can perform specific actions on specific objects within the system. Purchasing provides purchasing function for the buy-side. In addition, the Business Edition supports the use and management of purchase orders and allows integration with billing and accounting. Business Relationship Manager Available only with the Business Edition, it provides a set of business user interfaces to manage several areas including the life-cycle of a contract, business policies in the policy registry including pricing and billing, and centric account management. Customer Entitlement and Contract-Based Commerce Available only with the Business Edition, it makes use of a business policy or a set of rules followed by a business for a particular business process. It also uses a contract or an agreement that enables the buyer to purchase certain items with the specified terms and conditions. In addition, a requisition list is defined by a set of items and quantities that can be used repeatedly. This creates an order without having to search the catalog. These capabilities can be used 202-062 -2-

by business policy or contract administrators. They can also be used by the merchant and business buyer. RFQ Available only with the Business Edition, it provides the capability for an RFQ to solicit quotes for a specific set of goods and services. The RFQ is sent to one or more selling organizations that can choose to respond to the RFQ. After the RFQ is closed, the buyer can select the winning bid and choose to create a contract with the supplier to purchase the goods. Messaging Available only with the Business Edition, it provides the capability to connect to external procurement systems and marketplaces such as Ariba Buyer and Metiom ConnectTrade. Online Buyer/Seller Collaboration Available only with the Business Edition, it provides a contract draft and proposal discussion template, based on Lotus QuickPlace. This template is integrated into the business-to-business store model included with WCBE. A seller company s sales or account manager can create a draft contract, share this contract with buyers in the buying organization, and also discuss the contract using threaded discussion on Lotus Domino. Additional features also allow online buyers and sellers to make decisions about the quantity and content of orders, delivery dates, promotions, and designs of new products. Advanced User and Organizational Management Available only with the Business Edition, it provides support for hierarchical organization structures and users who belong to different levels of organizations. Profiles for organizations and users can contain a variety of personal and context-sensitive, business-related attributes. In addition, users can be grouped by explicit assignment or implicitly by predefined grouping criteria. WCPEE WCPEE is a licensed-restricted version of WCPE intended to provide small and medium-sized businesses with an entry-level commerce solution. The license for WCPEE is restricted to one processor and one store on one server. Under these licensing terms, all software included in the WCPEE package must be installed on the single server. You can purchase up to two licenses of WCPEE only. You may purchase a second license only to provide hot fail-over. You may not use more than one processor for production workloads at one time. WCPEE does not include Sametime and only supports DB2 Enterprise Edition and IBM HTTP server as bundled with the product. Third-party databases and Web applications servers such as Oracle, iplanet, and Microsoft IIS are not supported by WCPEE. Specific parts of the documentation that refer to multi-tier configurations, third-party software, or Lotus Sametime do not apply to WCPEE.
