Key Prerequisites These courses run on IBM-compatible PCs with a 133 MHz Pentium, or higher, processor and a CD-ROM drive, SVGA 256-color display, and 25 to 40 MB hard disk space available, depending on the individual course. This courseware runs on Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT. 2 AS/400 Introduction I (5620-DCJ) Prerequisites: A fundamental understanding of computer operating systems and computer use Total Learning Time: Four hours Learn AS/400 concepts, including history, capabilities, and general system overview. Understand AS/400 design, along with the benefits of those design features. This includes how to use AS/400 displays, obtain help from the AS/400, and submit commands. A description of the fundamental operations performed by an AS/400 system is also included. Course Objectives: After completing this course, you can: Describe the history of the AS/400 Identify the applications and general architecture of the AS/400 Sign on and sign off of the AS/400 system Complete simple data entry Identify and use basic function of the AS/400 displays Send and receive messages Obtain online help using the help facilities Initiate, view, and control jobs Year 2000 These are third-party products, not IBM products. This course also covers how to connect to the AS/400 through a PC and the types of networks used by the AS/400.
