Please note that download site for the VPN client is only accessible from an internet connection outside of the college.
Installing the VPN Client and Connecting for the First Time Note: The following instructions use Internet Explorer, and may vary slightly for Firefox and Chrome browsers. 1. Open a web browser and navigate to https://dsc-vpn.daytonastate.edu 2. Enter your Daytona State College username and password to sign in. This is the same user id that is used for signing into Outlook or a college computer, and is typically entered in firstname_lastname@daytonastate.edu format, as shown below: 3. After logging into the site, choose the client software that is appropriate for your computer (Windows 32-bit, Windows 64-bit, or Mac).
Tip for Windows users: If you are unsure whether to select the 32-bit or 64-bit client, you may download the 64-bit client and open it. If you reach an error message on step 6, simply return to the download page above and select the 32-bit client instead. 4. When prompted to download, select save. 5. Once the download has completed, select run. 6. The setup Wizard will open. Simply click next through each of the prompts without changing any of the information on each screen. Once completed, click close.
Note: If you encounter the below notification, please return to step 3 and download the 32-bit client. 7. Once the installation completes, a new window will appear. Underneath portal, enter dsc-vpn.daytonastate.edu, then click connect.
8. A new box will appear. Enter your Daytona State College username and password (using the format of firstname_lastname@daytonastate.edu). Click connect.
9. The VPN client will take a moment as it connects for the first time. 10. Once connected, a welcome message may appear. You may check do not display this page again and close the welcome window. Congratulations! You are now connected to the Daytona State College VPN. Disconnecting from the Daytona State College VPN The GlobalProtect VPN client is accessible from the system tray. When connected, the icon will appear as the following: It is recommended to disconnect from the VPN when access to college resources are no longer needed. In order to disconnect: 1. Right-click on the GlobalProtect VPN Icon, then click disconnect.
Reconnecting to the Daytona State College VPN The GlobalProtect VPN client is always accessible from the system tray. When disconnected, the icon will appear as the following: If the GlobalProtect VPN tray icon is not present for any reason, you can start the application by locating it from your start menu/screen. For Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10, you can quickly locate and run the VPN client by clicking (or pressing on the keyboard) the Start button, then immediately typing GlobalProtect. In order to connect to the VPN: 1. Right-click on the GlobalProtect VPN Icon, then click connect. Note: If you see multiple options under connect, select VPNGateway. 2. Enter your college username and password (e.g, firstname_lastname@daytonastate.edu). For the portal field, enter dsc-vpn.daytonastate.edu, then click apply. 3. Once connected, a tray notification will appear confirming the VPN connection.
