OVERVIEW This guide is designed to assist with installing integrated EFTPOS for the TYRO EFTPOS Terminal. Please refer to the original checklist documentation and ensure this has been completed prior to integrating. PRE-INTEGRATION CHECKLIST... 1 OF MICROSOFT dotnet 3.5... 1 TYRO TERMINAL ADAPTOR... 2 TYRO TERMINAL APADTOR CONFIGURATION... 4 BOOKNET CONFIGURATION... 5 PRE-INTEGRATION CHECKLIST The list of things that need to be done in order for a BookNet site to use the integrated version of the Tyro EFTPOS is as follows: 1. Organise the Tyro pinpads to be installed at site and test stand-alone mode for at least one week. 2. All PCs to be integrated must be running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 or better. 3. Make sure the site is running BookNet version 2007.1 or greater. a. The latest CD has the Tyro package and.net framework software included so it could be suggested that the latest CD should be shipped to sites about to integrate. 4. Install.Net (version 3 or higher recommended) framework on the PC to be integrated. 5. Create a folder on the PC to be used for the EFTPOS integration workspace (e.g. c:\eft). Ensure all users have Read/Write/Modify permissions. 6. Add a Windows Printer, if receipt printer doesn t already exist (instruction for this can be provided if required) 7. Install the BookNet-Tyro integration package onto the PC that is to be integrated. 8. Configure BookNet and the Tyro Adapter software 9. Do a test transaction OF MICROSOFT dotnet 3.5 Please be aware that this installation will take around 30 minutes to complete on each PC - Open the Booknet CD in Windows Explorer - Browse to the TYRO > dotnet 3.5 Framework folder - Double-click dotnetfx35setup.exe - Accept the license agreement and click Install - When finished, click Exit - reboot the PC Page 1 of 5
TYRO TERMINAL ADAPTOR Install the Tyro Terminal Adapter by running the Setup.msi in the Tyro Terminal Adapter Setup folder on the CD. - Click Next to begin It is recommended that the default folder be used; however it may be changed if required. Click Next> Page 2 of 5
- Click Next > - Once completed, click Close Note: The installation creates a shortcut in both the Start-All Programs-Startup to and Start-All Programs-UniLink Data Systems folders. Page 3 of 5
TYRO TERMINAL APADTOR CONFIGURATION 1. Start the Tyro integration software a. Start, Programs, Startup, Tyro 2. With the Setup area, choose the Production drop-down. 3. Enter the Merchant Number, Terminal Number, POS description a. The matching numbers can be found on the pinpad by selecting Menu, Settings, Terminal Info. 4. Contact the Tyro support desk and request that the pinpad be changed to Customer Facing Integrated mode. (Help desk number is 1300 966 639) a. Reboot the pinpad by disconnecting and reconnecting the power. 5. Press the Acquire key button on the PC Tyro settings page a. Co-ordinate this with selecting menu, settings, integrated EFPTOS, authorize POS on the pinpad b. Enter 8976 (default Tyro admin password) or relevant value if this has been reset, when asked for an admin password, then select OK c. Select Yes for reset key, when requested on the pinpad. Subsequent selections of this function, when integrating the Tyro software on further PCs sharing the same pinpad, should select No for the reset key function. d. This Key Acquiring may require some co-ordination between the PC request and the pinpad link. If you don t get a successful message on the PC, repeat the procedure. 6. Check for latest version of Tyro Terminal Adapter software. a. Select the Tyro Terminal Adapter Update tab b. Click on the Check for updates button c. If no new updates are available at this time, click OK to acknowledge the Application Update message indicating this d. If an update is available, press Yes to download and install, then follow the prompts in the Tyro Terminal Adapter Setup Wizard, as per the steps outlined on Page 2 of this guide 7. Access the Advanced settings to set StatusScreenTimeout a. Press Ctrl + Shift + F12 on your keyboard b. Click on the Advanced tab c. Scroll to Layout > StatusScreenTimeout d. Key in value as 20000 e. Click Save Page 4 of 5
8. On the Tyro integration setup screen a. Add/select the printer that prints receipts on that PC, and select the print receipt option b. Take note of the input and output file names and the monitor folder. These can be changed but must match the entries that will be placed in the BookNet Shop defaults. BOOKNET CONFIGURATION 1. Set the shop defaults and POS settings to match the EFTPOS integration settings a. Select Setup, Shop defaults, Configure POS options, and then enter the required POS number. b. Ensure Close the receipt printer is selected c. Select the Options tab d. Ensure Print the receipt at the end is selected e. Choose the EFTPOS Tab f. Select Integrated EFTPOS g. Enter the relevant file names to match the above settings E.g. Input = c:\eft\posmessage.in.txt Output = c:\eft\posmessage.out.txt Power Loss = c:\eft\posmessage.pld.txt Temp = c:\eft\posmessage.tmp.txt h. Save the settings and restart BookNet IMPORTANT NOTE: The integrated EFTPOS is always triggered by pressing F3 EFTPOS during the BookNet tender process of the POS. The operator does not press the Mastercard or Visa tender keys any more. The Tyro system knows these card types automatically and these are returned from the pinpad when the transaction is approved.
