System Requirements 1.1 Hardware Requirements The hardware that is required for classweb.link to function is: Web Server Component Minimum Recommended CPU Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or higher Xeon Dual Core / Quad Core RAM 2GB 4GB Hard Disk (Free Space) 5GB 15GB OS Windows Server 2003 Windows Server 2003/ Software Requirements The software that is required for Classweb.link to function is: Windows Server 2003/2008 Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 or IIS 7.0.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 SQL Server 2005/2008 (required for links database hosting) links v or higher 1.3 Other Requirements Other requirements include: Domain Name A domain name referencing the IIS server will be required for easy & reliable public access, and is required when obtaining an SSL certificate 128-bit SSL Certificate - An SSL certificate is required to allow secure transmission of payment details between the customer and the IIS server P a g e 3

4 2. Architecture 2.1 Overview Classweb.link is an ASP.NET 3.5 web application allowing responsible adults to browse classes, book classes, and make payments for classes online. Classweb.link integrates in to the links application database hosted by SQL Server. Bookings made via Classweb.link will instantly appear in Class.link alongside other bookings. Classweb.link also integrates with a selection of Payment Providers which allows for automated processing of Credit Card details that are supplied when making a booking 2.2 Diagram P a g e 4

5 3. Installation 3.1 Pre-installation First, determine the machine on which the Classweb.link application will be installed. This machine will need to be running Windows Server 2003/2008 (workstation variants of Windows XP/Vista/7 are not currently supported) and IIS will need to be enabled (in a number of configurations, IIS is not installed by default). The.NET Framework 3.5 will also need to be installed on the server after IIS is installed. If components such as the.net Framework 3.5 are required to be installed, then there is the possibility of server reboots being required, so down-time should be planned prior to commencing installation. If IIS and.net Framework 3.5 is already installed then you can skip to Classweb.link installation Installation Scenarios To install Classweb.link correctly, it is important to determine the type of installation environment and requirements. Below is a explanation of common links installation scenarios and how Classweb.link will interact with them. Standalone Links Database and Single Location For this scenario, Classweb.link will be connected to the single location in the links database. Clients will be able to access Classweb.link based on the URL set up in Internet Information Services (IIS) ClassWeb.com OR ClassWeb.com/ClassBookings P a g e 5

6 Standalone Links Database and Multiple Locations For this scenario, the links database separates information based on location so that users at each site has access to different information. Classweb.link allows for clients to have access to different locations based on a parameter in the URL they access. Classweb.com/bookings/LoginUser.aspx?lo=1 will display information based Location ID 1 in the links database. Classweb.com/bookings/LoginUser.aspx?lo=2 will display information based Location ID 2 in the links database. on on Multiple Links Databases For this scenario, information is separated between multiple links databases and/or multiple locations. This scenario requires an installation of Classweb.link for each of the databases it will be connected to. This can be achieved by repeating the installation steps in Section 3.2 using different web sites or virtual directories for each of the databases that will be connected. Classweb.com/DB1Bookings/LoginUser.aspx will display information from the links database it is connected to. Classweb.com/DB2Bookings/LoginUser.aspx will display information from a different links database A combination of multiple websites/virtual directories and URL parameters can be used to display different locations, inside different links databases ClassWeb.com/DB1Bookings/LoginUser.aspx?lo=1 will display information based on Location ID 1 of the links database it is connected to. ClassWeb.com/DB1Bookings/LoginUser.aspx?lo=2 will display information based on Location ID 2 of the links database it is connected to. P a g e 6

7 3.1.2 Installing IIS Server Click Start > Control Panel 2. Open Add or Remove Programs 3. Click on Add/Remove Windows Components 4. In the Components list, add a check next to Application Server 5. Highlight Application Server, click Details Add a check next to ASP.NET 7. Click OK 8. Click Next to begin install 9. You may be required to insert the Windows Install CD, or when prompted click OK to point to a local/network copy of the i386 folder from the Windows Install CD Installing IIS Server Click on Start Menu > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Server Manager 2. Highlight Roles in the list on the left-hand side of the screen 3. Under Roles Summary on the right-hand side, Click Add Roles 4. In the Add Roles wizard, click Next to select the roles to install 5. Add a check next to Web Server (IIS) 6. If the Add role services required... dialog appears, click Add Required Role Services 7. Click Next 8. The Introduction to Web Server (IIS) screen will be displayed 9. Click Next 10. In the role services list, add a check next to ASP.NET under Web Server > Application Development section 11. If the Add role services required... dialog appears, click Add Required Role Services 12. Click Next 13. On the Confirm Installation Selections page, click Install 14. After installation has completed, review any warnings that are displayed, and click Close Install.NET Framework Download the dotnetfx35setup.exe from 413D DA479AB0D7&displaylang=en 2. Run the dotnetfx35setup.exe file 3. Accept the licence agreement and click Install 4. A reboot of the server may be necessary to complete the installation P a g e 7
