ENTRIES = ++PTF (RO49483) ABEND, MIGRATE_TO_SHADOW RUNNING CHANGE DATA CAPTURE CA Datacom/DB Multi User Facility (MUF) running in a MUFplex (Datasharing) environment which has the Change Data Capture (CDC) feature active can fail after executing a MIGRATE_TO_SHADOW command. When a MIGRATE_TO_SHADOW command is executed in a MUFplex that has CDC tasks active, the following error can occur: DB00229E - FATAL INTERNAL ERROR - JOB TERMINATED - BFW-#### where #### is a varying displacement inside the DBBFWPR module. The Shadow MUF may possibly enable. When any further CDC processing is attempted, the MUF will fail. Do not use the MIGRATE_TO_SHADOW function when CDC is active. End the running MUF with an EOJ command, allowing the Shadow MUF to enable after the EOJ. PRODUCT(S) AFFECTED: CA Datacom/DB Release 12.0 CA Datacom/DB Release 14.0 DB 4697 Copyright (C) 2012 CA. ENTRIES = ++PTF (RO53693) ALIGNMENT OF FLEXPOOL BUFFERS IN MUFPLEX When more than one CA Datacom/DB (DB) Multi-User Facility (MUF) in MUFplex mode A or B accesses the same data (data-sharing), buffers are written to and read from the corresponding list structure in a Coupling Facility (CF). This includes the MIGRATE_TO_SHADOW phase in a MUFplex mode S Shadow configuration. The CF requires that these buffers are aligned on 4K boundaries, and their size must be a multiple of 4K. In a MUFplex (including mode S) MUF allocates normal data buffers according to these rules by rounding the sizes specified in startup option DATAPOOL to the next higher multiple of 4K. However, MUF fails to perform these adjustments for buffers defined via the FLEXPOOL startup option. When a FLEXPOOL buffer that is not correctly aligned or sized is used with the CF, MUF will abend. If the CF returns an error feedback to MUF indicating a buffer size or alignment problem, MUF will abend with message: DB00229E - FATAL INTERNAL ERROR - JOB TERMINATED - XES-xxxx where xxxx denotes an offset in module DBXESPR. It is also possible that the CF code itself abends without returning a feedback code to MUF. In this case, the abend has been seen to produce message: DB00257E - PSW - xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx PGM - IEANUC01+000000 ABEND CODE - 0DB where xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx denotes the hex data of the PSW. During MIGRATE_TO_SHADOW, the former Shadow will abend when performing recovery for the failed primary MUF. An outage of the members of the MUFplex that share the FLEXPOOL buffer will occur. The problem can be circumvented in an active MUF by deleting all incorrectly sized FLEXPOOL buffers. This can be accomplished with the FLEXPOOL DELETE console command or with a DBUTLTY FLEXPOOL OPTION=DELETE console-like command. The problem can also be circumvented by coding multiples of 4K for the buffer sizes in the DATAPOOL startup option. This circumvention is equivalent to this solution. Coding zero for the number of incorrectly sized buffers in the FLEXPOOL startup option provides a third circumvention. PRODUCT(S) AFFECTED: CA Datacom/DB Release 14.0 DB 4746 Copyright (C) 2013 CA. Requests using a procedure return invalid data. This includes a CALL or EXECUTE of a procedure, a triggered procedure and, for CA Chorus users of the Security Discipline (which includes CA Compliance Information Analysis (CIA) as an underlying component), the use of a User Defined Function Table (UDFT). The -124 PLAN NOT FOUND error can cause the procedure to exit prematurely. In the case of Chorus/CIA, this causes all columns of the UDFT to be null. ENTRIES = ++PTF (RO56525) POTENTIAL CORRUPTION OF CBS SET DEFINITIONS AFTER SPILL CA Datacom/DB (DB) stores CBS set definitions in the CBS buffer in memory. When this buffer becomes full, set definitions are spilled to disk. The process of restoring such set definitions from disk to memory can under specific circumstances lead to corrupted set definitions. The corruption can cause unpredictable results, including invalid data rows returned to the application and the Multi-User Facility (MUF) looping or abending. The specific circumstances leading to this problem depend on the structure and contents of the selection criteria. "Short" queries with few predicates are not affected. The probability of the error increases with the complexity of the set definition, but not all complex definitions are subject to the corruption. MUF returns rows for CBS SELxx commands (SELFR, SELNR etc.) that do not match the selection criteria or does not return rows that do. MUF can go into a loop or abend. Other unpredictable results are possible. Wrong rows are returned to applications or a MUF outage may occur. Preventing the CBS buffer from becoming 100% full provides a circumvention.
