1.0 Introduction This Program Directory is intended for the system programmer responsible for program installation and maintenance. It contains information concerning the material and procedures associated with the installation of IBM Tivoli AF/OPERATOR on z/os. This publication refers to IBM Tivoli AF/OPERATOR on z/os as AF/OPERATOR on z/os. It also describes the procedures for activating the functions of AF/OPERATOR on z/os, or refers to appropriate publications. 1.1 AF/OPERATOR on z/os Description AF/OPERATOR is a bridge between OMEGACENTER and the rest of your enterprise. It enables two-way communication between Candle's OMEGACENTER products and other products, including: console automation products NetView ASCII hosts in a distributed systems environment Working together with OMEGAVIEW, AF/OPERATOR lets you see host and network status information on a single panel. OMEGAVIEW is Candle's status display product that uses status lights to show, at a glance, the health of systems being monitored. Also included with your shipment of AF/OPERATOR on z/os is IBM Tivoli Alert Adapter for Omegacenter Gateway which comprises two programs that perform complementary functions: an alert adapter program that monitors MVS consoles for messages indicating critical events and sends alert information to the Candle Management Server (CMS) an alert emitter program that redirects alert information sent by the CMS to an OG/MVS automation script Copyright IBM Corp. 2004, 2005 1

2.0 Program Materials An IBM program is identified by a program number. The program number for AF/OPERATOR on z/os is 5608-C03. 4.0 Program and Service Level Information This section identifies the program and any relevant service levels of AF/OPERATOR on z/os. The program level refers to the APAR fixes incorporated into the program.
