Instructions for Using the ACG Mobile App Getting the most out of ACG Mobile s clinical and education tools. DOWNLOAD THE APP Download ACG Mobile from the Apple itunes or Google Play stores. You may need your Apple, Google, or Amazon account information to successfully download the app. The app is supported on a variety of mobile platforms, however, for best results, users should ensure their mobile device s operating system is 4.4. or later for Android, and 8.0 or later for ios. Avoid using the app on the following devices: ipad, any non-retina devices, and Kindles with an OS older than 4.4.. LOGIN TO THE APP Once you ve installed ACG Mobile, use your ACG Single-Sign- On account to log into the Member Resources and Guidelines section at the top of the app. The Regional Courses section of ACG Mobile houses apps for all of ACG s Regional Courses, making it easy for you to view slide presentations for courses you attend from within a single app. See page 9 for more information. Regional Course registrants are provided with login credentials for accessing their course s app and presentation slides, which are different from single-sign-on login credentials. ACG MOBILE BASICS 1 1, After loggin into the Member Resources and Guidelines section of the app, you will see tiles for the various resources available: Guidelines GI Diagrams Medical Calculators For Your Patients Podcasts Clicking a tile that displays an ACG event or promotes a specific member resource will open either a PDF or a new screen with further details. 4 Clicking any of the lower tiles will take you directly to other ACG resources: ACG s Regional Course Calendar ACG s main website ACG s Annual Meeting website ACG s blog site 5 The bottom nav buttons allow you to view any messages, link directly to the ACG Education Universe site, conduct a universal search throughout all the content in the app, and view or adjust app settings. 4 5 6 6 Periodically refreshing the app will ensure you have the latest content. Refresh data via the Menu icon ( bars) in the top right corner of the main screen.
1 1 Recommendations for treating and managing a wide range of GI issues can be found in the Guidelines section of ACG Mobile. Summary and full-length versions of more than dozen ACG Clinical Guidelines can be read in the app, downloaded, or shared. Highlight guidelines by clicking the star, so that whenever you access the Guidelines, just clicking the yellow star to the left of the top search bar will display your list of favorites.,4,5 Clicking a guideline opens a new screen with details about that guideline along with options for reading a summary or the full-length guideline. 4 6 Many guidelines include companion podcasts, allowing you to listen to guideline authors discussing key points from directly within the app. 6 5
1 The app makes it easy to 1 search either the summary or full-length versions of the guidelines for specific words or terms. Once a guideline is opened, just click the magnifying glass at the top and start typing. The app will highlight all instances found. If you want to email or text a guideline, open it in a different app, download or print it, just click the dots icon at the top. 4
1 Many of the ACG Guidelines include a Decision Support Tool. ACG has partnered with EvidenceCare to bring this valuable feature to ACG Members. rsmith@med.edu This tool seemlessly connects you to the power of EvidenceCare. Provide information about a clinical case and, with just a few clicks, receive a treatment protocol recommendation. 1 When you use the Decision Support Tool, you may need to log in to EvidenceCare if you already have an account. If you don t have an EvidenceCare account, click Sign Up to register for a free account. EvidenceCare is not an app, so while there is nothing to download, you will need to save EvidenceCare to your device s home screen in order to use it with ACG Mobile. iphone: Sign into app.evidence.care on your phone s browser. Click the button at the bottom that looks like a box with an arrow pointing up and choose Add to Home Screen, and a direct link will appear among your other apps. Android: Sign into app.evidence.care on your Android using your phone s browser. Click on the dots icon at the top and chose the Add to home screen option. 5
1 1, Tutorials on using EvidenceCare can be found by clicking the Menu icon ( bars) at the top of the EvidenceCare screen. A -minute video provides an overview of the built-in EvidenceCare tools: Calculators Protocol Advisor Antibiotic Advisor Patient Education EHR Documentation,4,5 Using the Protocol Advisor requires just a few clicks to deliver a best-practice approach recommendation for treatment that s tailored to your patient s case. You can also search by protocol, condition, or infectious organism, and can filter by specialty, age and body system. 4 5 6
1 1 The app is loaded with nearly 50 evidence-based Medical Calculators that work in sync with the free MDCalc app and can provide evidence-based assessments in seconds. ACG has partnered with MDCalc to bring this valuable feature to ACG Members. If you don t already have the free MDCalc app on your mobile device, you will need to download it prior to using any of the ACG Mobile app Medical Calculators. You can download MDCalc from the Apple itunes or Google Play stores. The app also contains over 75 American Journal of Gastroenterology Podcasts, with new titles added regularly. You can easily build a playlist by clicking the stars next to podcast titles. To access your playlist, just click the top-most yellow star to the left of the search bar to display your list of favorites. Listen right from the app to the experts discuss topics ranging from Bariatric Surgery Complications to Medical Marijuana Use, or hear ACG Guideline authors highlight the key points in their guidelines. 7
1 1 Use the App to view a variety of anatomical GI Diagrams, and zoom in for a close-up, especially helpful during a patient visit to illustrate your message. Colon Colonoscopy ( views) External Stomach Full GI Tract Pancreaticobiliary Anatomy Upper and Lower GI Tract Upper Endoscopy ( views) During or after a patient visit, use the For Your Patients section of the app to access white papers written specifically for patients on a wide range of digestive health topics. You can print these directly from the app or can share them with your patients by text or email. This section also contains a link to ACG s Patient Website, for easy access to additional resources for GI patients. 8
THE REGIONAL COURES SECTION OF THE APP The Regional Courses section of ACG Mobile houses current and past apps for all of ACG s Regional Courses, making it easy for you to view slide presentations from courses you attend, from within a single app. 1 View all of the apps by clicking the All button at the bottom. 1 Course apps that you have accessed using login credentials (either for apps you have purchased or for courses you have attended) will display when you click the My Events button at the bottom. The Year button sorts events by year. Once you have logged into a Regional Course app, instructions for using a Regional Course app (both on a mobile device and on a computer) can be found within the Event Info tile. See page 1 for information on how course attendees can log in, and for information on how to purchase app access for non-attendees. 9
