How to Use Discovery @ Widener Discovery @ Widener allows you to search all of the library s databases and the library catalog at the same time. With just one search, you can obtain books, ebooks, scholarly journal articles, newspaper articles, videos and much more on your topic. Explore what is available! IMPORTANT: Discovery @ Widener does not just return results that are available in full text from this library; rather it shows the wide variety of what you can obtain on a topic. The information in each record will indicate if you can obtain the item from the library or if you need to order it through ILLiad. You can access Discovery @ Widener by using the search box on the library s homepage: Library Home Page Enter your search term into the search box to obtain results from a wide variety of sources, always use quotation marks around phrases:

5. Limiting Options 5 Use the many limiting options in the box at the left to limit your search. Limiting by peer reviewed, publication date, source type, subject, database etc. helps obtain more specific results. Try the many limiting options offered in the box. When you search for post-traumatic stress disorder and limit to Available in Library Collection, each record features a PDF Full Text icon. This search also returns academic journals and ebooks, as show below:
The detailed record screens for ebooks and academic journals offer the same functionality that you find in the individual databases. Yet, when you click on hyperlinked subjects or authors, you search in the whole Discovery system and obtain the large variety of results available throughout the library s collection. ebook - Detailed Record Click on an author s name to obtain additional works by that author.
