4 Notes: 1) Pitch Bend for High Resolution Graphics Parameters Channels 1-10 are reserved for graphics parameters. In order to maximize compatibility, Ming Micro uses Pitch Bend messages instead of NRPNs for high resolution control. The graphics parameters use raw Pitch Bend messages, which is to say they start at 0 rather than 8192 (pitch center 0). This conforms to the actual Pitch Bend data which is just a number from 0 to Some software (like Pure Data, for instance) does pre-formatting to transform the raw 0 to number into a to number, since for pitch control that s what you expect: negative numbers decrease the pitch, positive numbers increase the pitch. In Pure Data or similar software, you ll wan t to subtract 8192 to get the proper range that Ming Micro expects. 2) Pitch Bend for Audio Parameters Channels use Pitch Bend as expected, for audio pitch control. By default, these are mapped as you d expect for physical pitch wheel control, with pitch 0 at the center of the range (8192), and then increasing/decreasing the pitch as you move up and down through the range. There s also a special mode that uses the Pitch Bend message similarly to the high resolution graphics parameters, starting with the lowest pitch at 0 and increasing the pitch across the rest of the range. This gives you full, direct control over the virtual sound chip s pitch register, which is a 10-bit, range. To use this mode, toggle CC20 (Pitch Bend Mode) on the corresponding channel. When this mode is engaged, sending a pitch bend message from will override the pitch set by Note On messages. 3) Glitch Scroll and Glitch Scroll Region the Glitch Scroll parameters let you smoothly scroll Ming Micro s graphics pointers through RAM, directly visualizing arbitrary areas of memory. Since there s more RAM than can be accessed using the Pitch Bend messages, The Glitch Region CCs supply offsets to the area of RAM that the Glitch Scrolls index. 0 = no offset 1 = exclude graphics assets (start of program code) 2 = extended (reaches to very top of program code) 4) Sprite Locks

5 Sprite Locks allow audio pitch and amplitude to be internally linked to Sprite position. This allows for instant audio-visual coupling without the need to send duplicate CCs, saving MIDI bandwidth. The available Sprite Locks (for both pitch and amplitude) are as follows: 0 = Sprite Lock Off 1 = Sprite1 X Position 2 = Sprite1 Y Position 3 = Sprite2 X Position 4 = Sprite2 Y Position 5 = Sprite3 X Position 6 = Sprite3 Y Position The Sprite Lock Invert CCs can be used to invert the range relationships (whether pitch increases or decreases as a spright climbs in height, for instance).
