4 Commonly Used Theorems and Postulates Points, Lines, Planes, and Angles Segment Addition Postulate: If B is between A and C, then AB + BC = AC. Right Angle Congruence Theorem: All right angles are congruent. Linear Pair Postulate: If two angles form a linear pair, then they are supplementary. The bisector of the vertex angle of an isosceles triangle is perpendicular to the base of the triangle at its midpoint. The segment connecting the midpoints of two sides of a triangle is parallel to the third side and is half as long.

If a quadrilateral is a parallelogram: o its opposite sides are congruent. o its opposite angles are congruent. o its consecutive angles are supplementary. o its diagonals bisect each other.
