1 ShipWorks allows users to design and prepare to production 100% of: ship structure, hull s sheet metal plates, mechanical parts, tubing and deck equipment. ShipWorks is based upon a new technology that merges both 2D and 3D, allowing users to create both general and detail projects in 3D and, afterwards create all the 2D drawings for manufacturing and for the classification societies in a fast and easy way. ShipWorks is an add-in for SolidWorks, the reference software in 3D design. This partnership helps ship builders to find qualified designers because SolidWorks is the most used 3D CAD software worldwide. ShipWorks offers an interface for communication management and project control easily customizable for each company. Why 3D? Because 3D give us an image so close to reality, it is possible to detect potential problems before production and consequently to spare several hours in manufacturing. 2 ShipWorks - Part s Organization Shipworks allows, with total freedom, to structure the components according to various levels of prefabricated units, ignoring the positioning restrictions defined by Solidworks. Through this structure, reports can be generated and fabrication 2D drawings can be created of each, or several, prefabricated units defined in that structure. ShipWorks allows designers to place several Stiffeners per Bulkhead in different Bulkheads, in the same command. With the existent Shipworks functionalities, the time of the project reduces drastically, therefore, increasing the designer's efficiency. ShipWorks - Markups ShipWorks allows you to create markups on every type of sheet metal plates (bulkhead, deck, hull, etc.) On the 2D unfolded shape of the sheet metal plates, it's possible to visualize all the markups as well as the references of the welded pieces. 4 ShipWorks - Manufacturing Preparation ShipWorks has a set of tools to help the creation and flattening of the hull's sheet metal plates. All kinds of sheet metal plates, including the double curvature ones on the bulb, can be flattened with ShipWorks.
