Luke Wawrzyniak Solid Edge Technical Consultant Majenta PLM I graduated in Sheffield and have worked in the Joinery industry for the past 5 years as a designer and craftsman using Solid Edge. I have experience of other applications such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Rhino 3D. I now provide technical support for Solid Edge, Keyshot and Quadrispace users with Majenta PLM, as well as running hands-on training sessions similar to this one. Page 3

16 What is Keyshot? Page 16

17 Why use Keyshot? Keyshot is a flexible tool which allows you to create real looking renders in minutes and masterpieces once you ve learnt all the tricks. You can use Keyshot to send your design to a customer. It looks better than a screenshot and only takes a few minutes. You can also use it for marketing purposes and create marketing campaigns around your product. Keyshot can be used instead of creating a physical prototype to demonstrate your product and how it works. Page 17

18 Extended Marketing Uses Keyshot is fully equipped to help you make animations of your designs. You can create custom videos showing how someone may use or interact with the product. You could also use it to create a video of how the part is assembled/disassembles. Keyshot also allows you to create virtual realities. This allows you to send your product fully rendered to anyone and will allow them to navigate around your product. Keyshot is great at putting your parts into context. Keyshot will create images that look great very quickly, but given a bit more time in Keyshot, you can make your product look like it is an environment you might find it in. You can also add more details and textures to the part so that it looks like your part may have been used. Page 18

20 Advanced Keyshot Techniques If you want to go beyond creating a good image, Keyshot offers a wide range of tools to allow you to show your design as they would appear in real life! Keyshot gives you a library of over 10,000 materials and gives you the ability to create your own. On top of materials, Keyshot offers a huge range of textures, each of which can be applied to any material giving you full control of how you want your product to look. Page 20
