1 Summer Math Packet for Students Going Into Pre-algebra 8 Purpose: The purpose of this packet is to review skills that are necessary for the student to have attained in order to be successful in the math course they are entering. You are expected to come in with certain understandings that are prerequisite to Prealgebra 8. Instructions: Do all problems on your own paper showing all work in a neat and organized manner. You may receive help from any resource you want (websites such as math.com are great) as long as you understand how to do each problem. This packet must be completed and turned in the first day of school in order to receive 2 points extra credit for the first quarter. Finally, it is suggested to not wait until the last two weeks of summer to begin on this packet. If you spread it out, you will most likely retain the information much better. Once again this is due, completed with quality, on the first day of class. It is intended to help you be successful in the coming year.
