Object of this newly established company is the sale of mini and midi excavators, aerial work platforms, and spare parts of all kinds, as well as the provision of services for companies, in particular for companies of the ATLAS group. ATLAS Kompakt GmbH (AKS) has its registered seat at Stedinger Strasse 324, in Delmenhorst. The owner of the company is Mrs. Véronique Filipov; Mr. Brahim Stitou and Mr. Gerhard Frerichs act as its managing directors. Mini and midi excavators are a market segment, which ATLAS had not yet been involved in; however, dealers and customers frequently asked for them. This is a very big market, Brahim Stitou explains. In Germany, France and the United Kingdom alone, 45,000 of such excavators are sold each year. And because the dealers appreciate the quality of products provided by ATLAS, we added these machines to our product portfolio. ATLAS Kompakt GmbH will primarily act as a cooperation partner for another manufacturer. We will launch these excavators as goods for resale and guarantee an uninterrupted supply of spare parts and excellent service via our first-class service network. This in combination with most attractive prices and innovative machines makes us confident that we are well-positioned here. Our decision in favor of the Delmenhorst location, Brahim Stitou says, is not only owed to the fact that the Ganderkesee factory is utilized to capacity by the production of large excavators but also that we wanted to focus exactly on this segment. In addition, the customers of mini and midi excavators are different from those of heavy machinery. This gives us also the opportunity to take advantage of a spacious area in our Delmenhorst factory and use it for the new company, since it perfectly matches its requirements and is currently vacant. For weeks, everybody at ATLAS Kompakt GmbH had been working hard in order to get ready for the start of the business operations. On October 23 and 24, they hosted an Open House to introduce the new company to the worldwide ATLAS dealer network; high-ranking city officials and the local press were also invited to attend. The response was very positive indeed and an extensive demonstration of the new product range took place on both days. The visitors also had the opportunity to look behind the scenes of the factory. Culinary delights were provided as well. In addition, a sandbox had been built with heavy sand in the field next to the driveway to the factory. At this test range, interested dealers and customers can drive the mini and midi excavators for a hands-on experience and test the quality of the new small crawler machines for themselves. In order to meet the demand and supply the dealers with the small excavators as soon as possible, it took quite some investment and ATLAS Kompakt GmbH already has a sufficient number of machines ready for quick delivery. The warehouse at Delmenhorst is adequately stocked with spare parts as well so they will be able to provide for

2 these new machines the same perfect service that ATLAS is renowned for all over the world. The objective is to sell about 500 excavators in the first business year.
