17 FLEET OPTIMIZATION The mine were instructed to reduce the dozer fleet by 4 machines from 13 to 9 to fit the maintenance budget available. Following the introduction of the Sleipner DB120 and a dozer fleet optimization the team saw the maintenance cost reduction. Six months of optimisation and utilization of the DB120, the dozer fleet has remained at 13, yet the current actual maintenance cost of the fleet is now below the budgeted figure for 9 dozers.
