4 3. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS It is important that you carefully read and understand these operating instructions before fitting your rear sight to the rifle. Make absolutely certain that your sporting rifle is not loaded during fitting. This rear sight has been designed, manufactured and calibrated according to the latest state-of-the-art technology. Once the product has left our company, the buyer bears the sole responsibility for its proper handling. i Caution Your ANSCHÜTZ rear sight has been carefully adjusted with special tools to be free from backlash and has been checked several times. It does not require any further setting. Therefore use only the elevation and windage adjusting wheels. Do not turn the wheels beyond the stops at the end of the adjustment travel. The pre-tensioned threaded drive would be permanently damaged as a result. In order not to lose your claim to service under warranty, contact your specialised dealer or our repair service if malfunctions occur. 4. 5 5. FITTING TO YOUR SPORTS RIFLE i Caution Danger to life from loaded firearm! Before fitting the rear sight, make sure that the firearm is not loaded. The rear sight is slid on to the 11 mm wide V-block rails and locked in a suitable position using the 2 clamping screws (just tighten hand-tight). Use only the supplied 3 mm Allen key for this. When changing the sight disc aperture or using an iris disc, filter, etc., take particular care to tighten only to normal hand-tightness to protect the pre-tensioned roller bearing guides and the pre-tensioned spindles. 6. ELEVATION AND WINDAGE ADJUSTMENT The elevation and windage adjusting wheels have click stops. The position of the aiming point is moved from click to click. Elevation adjustment when shooting high: Turn the elevation adjustment wheel [1] in the "H" direction. Elevation adjustment when shooting low: Turn the elevation adjustment wheel [1] in the "T" direction. Windage adjustment when shooting to the right: Turn the windage adjustment wheel [2] in the "R" direction. Windage adjustment when shooting to the left: Turn the windage adjustment wheel [2] in the "L" direction. 6 7. ADJUSTING THE OPTICS MOUNT Should the maximum elevation adjustment be insufficient, a further 5 mm in height can be gained by rotating the optics mount. To do this, unfasten the screws using the supplied 1.5 mm Allen key. Carefully remove the optics mount. Rotate it by 180, reinsert it and retighten the screws again. 8. LONGITUDINAL ADJUSTMENT OF THE OPTICS MOUNT Should the rear sight be too close to or too far from the eye when in the shooting position, this can be corrected by moving the optics mount. To do this, unfasten the screws using the supplied 1.5 mm Allen key. Carefully move the optics mount in the desired direction (forwards or backwards) and retighten the screws. When doing this, take care that the screws grip in the notches provided in the optics mount. 6

ADJUSTING THE RAIL CLAMPING You can obtain an additional 4.5 mm of adjustment travel laterally from the centre by moving the rail clamping [8] from the right hand fixing position to the left hand fixing position. Furthermore, due to its greater adjustment travel, the PRECISE rear sight can be fitted on all current sports rifles. To convert the rail clamping from the right to the left fixing position, loosen and remove the screws using the 3 mm Allen key supplied. Next remove the rail clamping [8] and fit it in the left hand fixing position. Then fasten the rail clamping with the two screws. Left hand fixing position. Right hand fixing position. [8] [8] 10. CARE AND CLEANING Your ANSCHÜTZ rear sight is a precision unit of the highest quality and consequently requires the utmost care when handling. Good care and maintenance will guarantee perfect function. Protect your rear sight from dust and dirt. Guides and spindles must not be oiled or greased. 11.
