3 Photodiode Arrays High sensitive photodiode arrays for sensor, light barrier and light curtain application. Extremely small footprint with a die thickness of only 50 microns the ideal choice for miniaturized sensor systems! The epc photodiodes are scalable and can be shaped exactly to your needs. Any rectangular shape from 1mm x 1mm up to 15mm x 15mm is possible. The grid consists of 1mm x 1mm cells of diodes and can be operated as one large diode or as a Matrix/Array of independent diodes. epc200, epc300, epc310, epc320, epc330 3D Time-of-Flight Sensors The epc600 (Range Finder) chip is a general purpose, monolithic, fully integrated photoelectric CMOS device for optical distance measurement and object detection. Its working principle is based on the three dimensional (3D) time-of-flight (TOF) measurement. The system-on-chip (SOC) contains: A full data acquisition path with the driver for the LED, the photo receiver, the signal conditioning, the A/D converter and the signal processing; An on-chip controller managing the data acquisition and the data communication; A 2-wire interface for the command and data communication; A supply-voltage power management unit. The epc610 is a fully integrated Time-of-Flight imager/camera built as a system-on-chip. The chip operates based on the 3D Time-of-Flight principle of light. Modulated light is emitted by a transmitter. This light is reflected by the object to be detected. The returning light is sampled by an on-chip photosensitive TOF CCD array with 8x8 pixels. The receiver compares the phase difference between the emitted and the received light and computes the time difference of the time-of-flight individually per pixel. This value multiplied by the speed of light (ca km/sec) and divided by 2 corresponds directly linearly to the distance. The new sensor epc660 is another full integrated Time-of-Flight imager with QVGA (320x240 pixels) resolution. The features are: Full monolithic chip design; distance range up to 240m; 12 bit video interface; I²C programming interface; integrated LED driver; 4 temperature sensors; 64 pin CSP (chip scale package); operating temperature -40 C +85 C. epc600, epc610, epc 660 BEST OPTO

4 Line Sensor The epc901 IC is a high-performance CCD line sensor capable of storing a total of 4 frames in the frame store elements for ultra-high speed image acquisition. The acquisition of the image is controlled by the external control signal SHUT- TER. The epc901 IC flags when a frame is ready for read-out by asserting the DATA_RDY signal. The transmission of a frame over the video amplifier is controlled by the external control signal READ. When a read-out is initiated by a pulse on the READ signal, it is sampled by a CDS stage. After a fixed delay the frame can be shifted out through the video amplifier by applying the appropriate amount of read clock edges. The epc901 consists of 1024 CCD pixels distributed over 7.68mm length with a pixel size of 7.5µm x 120µm. epc901 Transimpedance Amplifiers High sensitive, monolithic, high integrated CMOS photodiode amplifier for optical pulse detection and amplification. Designed for applications like light barriers, light curtains and sensors. The epc13x series are fully integrated photodiode amplifiers with DC light suppression. They have an extremely small footprint for application in miniature and space critical optical sensor systems. With the epc13x you don t have to worry about designing amplifier stages. The epc13x includes it all on one chip and reduces component count in your system significantly. These devices can ideally be combined with the epc3xx family. epc130, epc131, epc134, epc135, epc136, epc137, epc138, epc139 Output Drivers Digital communication in modern automation environments often requires robust data transmission over long distances, sometimes exceeding 1000 meters. These lines are not easy to drive due to the high capacitive load and the high attenuation of the signal in the cable. A high AC signal level and a high common mode rejection are required to withstand negative effects of harsh and noisy environments. The epc70x family is a general purpose low- and high-side power switch for 24V interfaces. The devices are very easy to use and capable to drive a load of 50mA at 30VDC. If a higher driving current is necessary, or if the output voltage shall be higher than 30VDC, these chips can be used to drive an external power transistor. In this mode of operation, the external transistor is fully protected against over-current by the epc chip. epc700, epc701, epc702, epc703

5 Light Barrier Drivers Light Curtain Components Building light barriers has never been so easy! In fact, ESPROS Photonics AG built these components for you as a customer and integrated everything. The epc11x/12x series features the complete functionality of a light barrier control circuit on one chip. They were designed for light barrier systems of smallest size, lowest component count and cost. Add a photo diode and a LED to complete it for a fully functional industrial light barrier. For instance you are able to use the epc120 with integrated communication bus and scale your system to up to 1024 nodes. Components for single or multi beam light barriers are available as well as version for high speed or long distance. The epc10x family are general purpose fully CMOS integrated circuits for multi beam light curtain applications with integrated communication interface. epc101 works as light pulse transmitter while the epc100 is designed as receiver/transceiver. Just add illumination LEDs and photo diodes and complete your industrial light curtain with up to 1024 nodes. epc100, epc101 Optical Filter Some applications require an optical filter in order to block specific wavelength and enable the sensor to receive light in a narrow area. The epc-bp860 is a general purpose optical IR bandpass filter at center wavelength of 860nm. The filter is deposited on thin glass carrier. The filter is designed as a single peak window filter for the wavelength range of 300nm to 1050nm.
