6 1. Overview 1.1 Introduction TX204 is an integrated GNSS RTK receiver; it's light-weight, battery-included, with onboard storage and versatile interfaces, supports 2G/3G communication for differential data transferring. TX204 has 5 LEDs for general status indication; it also works as a web server, which can be accessed via Wi-Fi link. User can do configurations and have graphic display through web browser on PC or a smart-phone. TX204 is suitable for holding in hand or wearing besides shoulder for outdoor work. Figure 1 shows the TX204 without antenna or cables. Figure 1 Outlook of TX204 GNSS receiver TX204 series have three different models, which can support different constellations and signals. TX204 in this manual can be any one of the three models except a specific receiver is given. Components of TX204 Package This chapter describes the components in TX204 package, including: Standard Package TX204 accessories 2.1 TX204 Standard Package The standard package for TX204 includes the GNSS receiver and a power adapter for battery charging. General operation This chapter describes the general operation of TX204, including: Charge the battery Power on/off the receiver Install/uninstall the SIM card Wi-Fi connection Bluetooth connection Operating or storing the receiver outside the specified temperature range can damage it. For more information, see chapter 5 for detailed specifications. High-power signals from a nearby radio or radar transmitter may devastate the receiver circuits. Avoid locating the receiver or antenna within 400 meters of powerful radar, transmitters or GNSS antennas. 3.1 Charge the battery Follow Figure 10 to charge the battery with the adapter in the package. The requirements for the AC power is 100~240VAC 50~60Hz. 13 / 30

15 Figure 10 Charging the battery During charging, one of the five LEDs besides the battery button will blink to show the processing, see Figure 11. Figure 11 A LED is blinking when charging All the LEDs are off after charging is completed, which is about 4 hours. Please charge the battery fully before it s used for the first time. 14 / 30

16 3.2 Power on/off TX204 Pressing the power button on the front panel >5 seconds to power on TX204 Figure 12 Power on/off TX204 Pressing the power button >5 seconds, the TX204 will power off. 3.3 Install/uninstall the SIM card Step 1, open the SIM slot cover Step 2, insert the SIM card 1, and please refer to Figure 13 for the direction. Step 3, push the SIM card into the slot until you hear a "click", the card is stuck. 15 / 30

17 Figure 13 Install a SIM card Install the SIM card before TX204 is power on, otherwise, dialing may be not successful. The SIM card can be uninstalled with a flathead screwdriver. Push the SIM card downwards with the driver and the card will be popped up, see Figure 14. 18 3.4 Wi-Fi connection You can configure the TX204 to perform a variety of functions. This chapter describes the configuration. Access TX204 via Wi-Fi After power on, the TX204 is working as an AP, which can be accessed with a smart phone or a tablet. Search the TX204 in the Wi-Fi list, the default SSID of TX204 is like TX204_306_xxxxxxx. Login Account: admin Password: password Note: Click remember me option, and then the browser will remember the Login Account and Password you entered for the next time you enter this login page. Once you are logged in, the web page appears as follows. Figure 18 Receiver status info Changing the Setting The web page shows the configuration menus on the left of the browser window, and the setting on the right. Each configuration menu contains the related submenus to 18 / 30

20 configure the receiver and monitor receiver performance. This section describes each configuration menu. To view the web page in another language, select the corresponding language name from the drop-down list in the upper right corner of the interface. Currently, three languages are supported. Figure 19 Choose language for setting 3.5 Bluetooth connection After power on, the TX204 is a Bluetooth device, whose default AP is like TX204_xxxxx_xxxxxxx. Figure 20 TX204 Bluetooth signal Press the AP to pair your Bluetooth device to the TX204, the default pairing password is Bluetooth discovery may minimally restrict Wi-Fi performance. It s recommended to perform any Bluetooth discovery prior to joining a Wi-Fi network and always turning off Bluetooth discoverability when pairing is complete. 19 / 30

22 4.1 Introduction TX204 GNSS receiver is configured by website page. The configuration page includes position status, satellites status, receiver configuration, data recording, I/O settings, network settings, module settings, and firmware. 21 / 30

24 4.2 Satellite and position status Status and satellites menus include position coordinate, DOP values, satellite used, satellites tracked, satellite signal strength, satellite skyplot time information and receiver battery, internal storage information. 4.3 Receiver configuration Receiver Configuration menu mainly shows antenna parameters configuration, receiver working mode configuration, receiver reset and languages Antenna Configuration Use this page to configure all of the items relating to the GNSS antenna. You must enter the correct values for all antenna-related fields since the choices will affect the accuracy for logged data and broadcast RTK corrections significantly Reference Station Settings Reference station has three modes: Auto Rover, Auto Base and Manual Base : Auto Rover mode Set receiver as rover after restart. Auto Base mode Set receiver as base automatically after restart. Manual Base mode Set receiver as base after restart, the position is input manually or is got from averaging positions. Reference Latitude and Reference Longitude: The coordinates of the receiver must be input if it s working as a base, there are three methods to enter the coordinates and shown as follows. Acquire Current Position: Click this button to acquire current position obtained through single-point positioning automatically. Sample for Average: The position will be got from averaging solutions Receiver reset Use this page to completely or partially reset the receiver. 23 / 30

25 4.3.4 Languages Use this page to select the web interface language. 4.4 Data recording Use the Data Recording menu to configure the receiver to collect static GNSS data and to view the logging settings. You can configure settings such as raw measurements rate, recording rate, continuous logging limit, and whether to auto delete old files if memory is full. This menu also provides the controlling for the FTP push feature. 4.5 Input and Output stream settings I/O settings must be configured when a SIM card is working or Ethernet has connected RTK Client In this mode, receiver can be connected to TCP or NTRIP when it set as rover. Or set the receiver as base/rover to transmit/receive data from TERSUS stream platform TCP/UDP_Client/NTRIP Server This mode includes TCP server, UDP client and NTRIP server. In all the modes, receiver can send NMEA0183, RTCM, CMR, ephemeris and raw data to a specified address. Generally, it s used to send RTCM data to a NTRIP caster when TX204 is configure as a base TCP Server/NTRIP Caster This mode include TCP server and NTRIP caster functions. In these modes, TX204 can transmit NMEA0183, RTCM, CMR, ephemeris and raw data to the Ethernet port (a public IP address is needed for the Ethernet port). Other TX204 receivers can receive data from the IP/port. 24 / 30

26 Bluetooth Send NMEA0183, RTCM, CMR, ephemeris and raw data out to the Bluetooth port. 4.6 Network and module settings Network settings include the summary of Ethernet and mobile network. It can also change the parameters of Ethernet, mobile, HTTP port and FTP service. 4.7 Firmware information Firmware information, firmware update, receiver registration and hardware information are all under this menu. 25 / 30

29 6. Typical Application of TX Working as a RTK rover The TX204, configured with a smartphone or a computer via the Wi-Fi, can work as a rover. The steps are given below: 1) An antenna is installed; insert a SIM card 1 in the TX204. 2) Power on the receiver, after dozens of seconds, the GPRS Status LED on the front panel will blink, please wait until it s solid ON, see Table 2. 3) Go to Receiver Configuration-> Reference Station Settings, and select Auto rover. 4) Go to I/O Settings -> I/O Settings -> RTK client to set where the RTK corrections are from. If the corrections are from a NTRIP caster, then the caster s IP, the mount point, the user name and password must be input. The download communication LED will blink when RTK corrections are receiving. 5) Go to Status-> Position to confirm the position type is fixed. 6) If position information wanted to be output to the Bluetooth, go to I/O Settings -> I/O Settings ->Bluetooth, in the NMEA logging, select GGA to be output at 1Hz, press confirm to enter the parameters. The upload communication LED will blink. 6.2 Working as a Base 2 The TX204 can also work as a base, from which RTK corrections can be transmitted to Internet with an Ethernet port. The steps are given below: 1) An antenna is installed; insert a SIM card 1 in the TX204. 2) Power on the receiver, Go to Receiver Configuration-> Reference Station Settings, and select Auto Base or Manual Base in the Reference Station Mode menu. If Manual Base is selected, input the position of the base. 28 / 30

30 3) Wait until the GPRS Status LED on the front panel is solid ON, see Table 2. 4) Go to I/O Settings -> I/O Settings -> TCP/UDP_Client1/Ntrip Server1, select NTRIP for Connection protocol, input the server IP, port, password and mount point, then press Confirm. The upload communication LED blink. will 6.3 Working as a static data collector There is a 32GB flash in the TX204, which can be used as a data logger to save raw measurements for post-processing. The steps are given below: 1) An antenna is installed and connected to TX204. 2) Power on the receiver, go to Data recording -> Log settings, press Modify at the right of record1 item to configure all the parameters, then press ON in the Switch. 3) After data collection is finished, press OFF in the Switch. 4) Keep TX204 power on, and connect an adapter to the TX204, and you can connect the USB port in the adapter to your computer and copy/delete the saved files in the record_1 directory.
