2 Use Case 1: Enterprise Switch Open Dual Stack Vendor Huawei Open SDE K3 User/Application eloper uses open cloud platform and management to develop and deploy containerized software components. These components can program the Enterprise Switch via VRP API. 6 Huawei s priority and potential contribution areas Huawei s suggestion to Akraino project The management system performance is very important, for example, one management domain should could manage 1M IoT gateway and the app lifecycle on it. We suggest strongly add a modern and lightweight Linux distribution subproject into Akraino Huawei s potential participation/contribution to Akraino project The linux distribution especially full stack embedded lightweight efforts. Technology and use diversity: processors, power consumption, environmental etc. Scalable management system, for example 1M gateway per domain and continuous automated app lifecycle Model driven and data driven management and automation Testing and certification etc. Focus on production ready code that vendors can build distributions on Edge: focus on the light-weight embedded full stack HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. 6

7 Principles for a successful open source project Sharing from the LFN s Principles doc that I m editing User and adoption drive features A successful/sustainable open source project must have an active user base Real deployments out-weight theoretical requirements Focus on production-ready Interoperability : The whole is larger than the sum Communication services are greatly more valuable when they interoperate Faster consensus building through open source as de facto or de jure (with SDOs) standards.
