2 PART III: PROFESSIONAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE Currently; I am an IT assistant at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Arusha-Centre. 11 th October st July 2011: Migration Technician (Technician on a video-to-data conversion project) at United Nations International Tribunal for Rwanda (UNICTR) Migration project; involved in digitization of videotapes, i.e. conversion of videotapes to digital data files, operating and monitoring the digitization equipments, performing quality-control and record-keeping tasks in Archives department. 1 st September th February 2010: Six months internship programme with UNICTR-United Nations International Tribunal for Rwanda, working in EDP/MIS (Electronic Data Processing/Management of Information Systems) section. Program Installations: Installing Windows based operating systems e.g. Windows XP professional and windows 2000 professional, Installing Application Software e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Installing Anti-virus software e.g. Kaspersky and installing Macros for Microsoft Word. System Configuration: Adding new users to a computer and to the domain, Configuring Lotus Notes for new users and users whose ID s have expired, Configuring Internet proxy settings and configuring user web mail. Networking and Network security: Connecting local printers to PCs, Connecting PCs to network printers, Sharing of peripheral devices on the network e.g. printers etc, Sharing drives and folders on the Network, Monitoring the network for malicious attacks such as network viruses and tracking the attacker s IP address to block it and trouble shooting. 2

PART IV: PUBLICATION Factors hindering adoption of internet marketing in an organization; a research report submitted to the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) for partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of Advanced Diploma in Information Technology. PART V: WORK EXPERIENCE My internship at ICTR provided me with various opportunities for growth and experience. This experience can enable to work with various people and develop effective corporate systems in any organization. My assignments included first and second level end-user support, computer systems troubleshooting and repair, and managing information between different departments. I faced a steep learning curve in gaining an understanding of the business processes I was required to support. Additionally, my support assignments were quite challenging requiring a considerable amount of focus, planning and developing the necessary team player skills. 3

4 Nevertheless, I was able to settle into my new role quickly and apply myself to the tasks at hand. I left a positive impact on my team, and I was able to deliver on the stated goals of my assignment. I have gained valuable IT business knowledge which proves a vital asset as I seek to further my studies and embark upon my professional career. PART VI: TRAINING, SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS ATTENDED September 2011: I attended three days workshop on Electronic Marketing conducted by InfoCom Center-Arusha. Coverage: E-marketing concepts, tools & usage and E-marketing plan.
