1 PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Doctor of Information Technology is an intensive course of study that focuses on research with a doctoral level course work. The program culminates with the writing of a dissertation that embodies a significant contribution of new knowledge towards the improvement of professional and industry practice in Information Technology. The DIT curriculum is based from the Policies and Standards (PS) for the graduate program of the Information Technology Education issued by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and is benchmarked from the curriculum of leading international academic institutions offering this program. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES AMA s Doctor of Information Technology program aims to produce globally competitive computer educators who will be professionally competent, morally upright, and socially responsible contributors to national development. Specifically, in three to five years after graduation, Doctor of Information Technology program alumni shall: 1. have advanced their career as top level managers (executives) or leaders in the area of information technology for the advancement of society; 2. continuously promote professionalism in the area of information technology; and 3. have demonstrated global competitiveness by building on best practices in their field. PROGRAM OUTCOMES a) An ability to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of scientific and scholarly research methods and their application in the area of computing and their specialization; b) An ability to critique and evaluate scientific research papers in their area of computing and their specialization; c) An ability to design and conduct research in their area of their specialization; d) An ability to communicate the results of their research in a clear and effective manner; e) An ability to understand and demonstrate concern for the high ethical standards in computing research, teaching, and related areas; f) An ability to solve computing related complex problems through integrating computing at the office of the Academic Affairs Department (AAD).
