1 Profile 1A/1B (NATO Secret) x10 - Software developer(s) to provide development and maintenance of software in one or more of the following areas: o algorithms, o artificial intelligence, o data analytics, o data catalogue integration, o data fusion, o data services, o embedded real-time processing, o network-enabled distributed processing, o predictive models, o service oriented architecture, o scientific computing (MATLAB), o signal and image processing, o tactical decision aids, o web services Profile 1A/1B: Object-Oriented Programming, Object-Oriented Design, UML modelling, Test-Driven Development (TDD); Integrate real-time data processing software into embedded processing platforms; Integrate dedicated sensing, processing and communications hardware into existing software frameworks; Support on-going efforts to integrate multiple data sources and processing techniques into the software frameworks developed by the Centre (extension of existing libraries to be used by a broader audience of users and provide greater functionality); Integration of software prototypes into Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and interfacing within a Federated Services Framework; Profiling of databases (index profiling, analysis of query performance, etc.); Documentation of the code. For 1A - Individual(s) possessing recent and relevant experience of at least three years in the following areas: - Strong knowledge of the C++ programming knowledge to design, code, test, correct and document large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result; - Taking part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work; - Documenting the design and implementation using UML-based CASE tools; - Configuration control (e.g. using Git); - XML/XSLT/XPath programming knowledge; - Knowledge of network programming; - Knowledge of publish-and-subscribe middleware frameworks (e.g. MOOS); - Experience in the creation of software applications that run on multiple platforms; - Design and develop C++ classes in the Visual Studio or equivalent development framework; - Develop fine or coarse-grained COM or COM+ components; - Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows Operating System; For 1B - Individual(s) possessing recent and relevant experience of at least three years in the following areas: - Strong knowledge of modern object oriented programming principles (Java,.NET, or similar) to design, code, test, correct and document large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result; - Writing unit tests using specific tools (e.g. JUnit); - Taking part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work;

2 - Documenting the design and implementation using UML-based CASE tools; - Configuration control (e.g. using Git); - Use a bug tracking system for issues and a wiki for documentation Use a continuous integration tool (e.g. Jenkins) - Knowledge of MATLAB; - Knowledge and/or experience with web technologies (WCF, JavaScript, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC 4) - Knowledge of databases and SQL; Implement database callbacks in Java applications (e.g. for Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.); - Familiarity with Linux and Windows Operating System; Profile 2 (NATO Secret) x3- Computer/network technician (field support) to provide technical support to scientists during the planning and execution of project-related activities, to include sea trials and experiments. Computer/network technicians must have a broad knowledge of Information Technology (IT) and their integration, to implement and maintain project-specific CIS systems. Profile 2: Assist project staff with installation, operation and maintenance of experimental services and systems, according to the following tasking and functions: Provide CIS support during the planning and execution of trials and experiments conducted at sea or in other sites; Interaction with the IT Coordinator and with scientists in the process of understanding CIS requirements related to field trials; Arrange for loading and unloading of CIS equipment on board the research vessels; Installation, configuration and testing of CIS equipment; o Monitoring of real-time data acquisition; Data management (data cluster organization, distributed storage, data replication and dissemination, data backup); Collection of new requirements arising during an on-going trial and implementation in agreement with the guidance received by the IT coordinator; Troubleshooting of hardware and software problems also in critical conditions and with limited remote support from CMRE; Maintenance of spare parts stored on board the research vessels. - At least five years relevant experience in the administration and maintenance (including hardware) of networked OS (e.g. Linux, Windows), workstations and peripherals; - Demonstrated experience in supporting field work on maritime platforms and/or temporary laboratories installed in the field (e.g. Containers. Shelters, etc.); - Demonstrated experience as database administrator; Good knowledge of network protocols and network devices; - Good knowledge of most commonly used office applications and tools; Profile 3 x4 - High Performance Scientific Computing Specialist(s) to provide software development, porting and system integration in one or more of the following areas: o Parallel computing; o Private and hybrid cloud; o Real-time and stream processing.

3 Profile 3: Provide architectural inputs for software development efforts utilizing a thorough understanding of various technologies such as web applications, relational databases, information security, cloud-based services etc.; Provide analysis and design reviews to apply appropriate technologies and architectures to solve conceptual problems; ensure design, structure and content meet performance guidelines; Provide adherence to NATO policies and industry best practices for the generation and cost-effective maintenance of software prototypes and products, giving due consideration to security aspects across the file cycle as part of a team structure that comprises project, IT and security staff; Develop software that takes the best advantage of cloud/hybrid distributed architectures; Design and support effective storage of big data; design build and support new data extraction, transformation and loading processes; Documentation of the code. - At least three years relevant experience in the development of object-oriented software; - Experience in modern programming languages like Java, JavaScript,.NET, Python, or Ruby; - Experience in developing or utilizing Web services and Web applications; - Experience with software version control, defect tracking, unit testing, etc. - Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams; - Experience with cloud deployments and services; Profile 4 x8 - Modelling & Simulation specialist(s) to provide software development and system integration and support activities with a focus on the following areas: o High Level Architecture (HLA); o Validation, Verification & Accreditation (VV&A); o Discrete Event Simulation; o Design of Experiments; o Intelligent Agents - Computer Generated Forces; o Agent Driven Simulation; o Virtual Immersive Environments (Vega Prime, VBS). Profile 4: Conceptual Model Analysis; Simulation Development; Integration Testing; Federation and Simulation Architecture Design; Virtual Worlds Development; Verification & Validation; Simulation Execution; Data Analysis. Individual(s) possessing recent and relevant experience in the following areas: - Experience in Modeling & Simulation applied to Industrial and Defense Cases; - Experience in Application of Experimental Design to Simulation Execution; - Experience in Data Analysis for Statistical Verification & Validation of Simulation Models; - Experience in using High Level Architecture with Different Runtime Infrastructures;

4 - Experience with Real Time Distributed Simulation; Profile 5A/5B (NATO Secret) x6 AIS/Network System Specialist(s) to support the day-to-day administration and monitoring of the experimental and scientific IT infrastructure (SCINET) comprising Linux and Microsoft Windows servers. Additional activities include: second line end-user support in the areas of identity management, , network connectivity, server services management (file/print/dns/dhcp), and backup/restore of user data; contribution to the implementation, configuration, troubleshooting of servers and applications on all experimental networks. Profile 5A/5B: Execute activities related to the CMRE s experimental and scientific IT infrastructure (SCINET), including but not limited to: o Administration of Microsoft Windows Active Directory services, user/group accounts, access permissions, DNS, DHCP, File and Print services, based on Microsoft Windows Server and Linux; o Day-to-day administration of SCINET network storage systems, including backup/restore of databases, monitoring and configuration, and performance and availability report generation; o Hardware maintenance of servers, storage devices, networking equipment and tape libraries; o Status checks on the CMRE's data preservation implementations; o Timely provisioning and maintenance of server software ranging from standard office automation software to specialized business applications including custom NATO software applications. Provide 2nd line SCINET system administration support for all CMRE locations including research vessels; ensure end-user satisfaction is achieved in timely fashion. Coordinate closely with IT Service Desk to maximize the efficiency between 1st and 2nd line support. Proactively monitor the SCINET systems and alert relevant second line support in case of performance degradation or downtime. Generate availability reports and statistics to ensure full service provisioning visibility. Advise ILAB management on corrective action or procurement action required to correct detected weaknesses in system performance. Remain up-to-date in ILAB technology and trends from an end-user perspective enabling state-of-the-art support to a scientific workforce. Performs other duties as may be required. - Relevant experience in maintenance of networked OS (e.g. Linux Redhat, CentOS, Windows 7, Windows Server); - Good knowledge and working experience with virtualization technologies based on VMware ESX Server; - Good knowledge of networking protocols, ports & topologies (TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting); - Good knowledge of storage (SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, NFS, ZFS, iscsi - setup, install; - A thorough understanding of backup techniques (configuration, administration, troubleshooting); - Deep knowledge of hardware installation (cabling, racking, labelling, upgrading, maintaining, troubleshooting ); - Basic experience in supporting field work conducted by means of computing facilities installed on maritime platforms; - Good knowledge of most commonly used office applications and tools; - Good level of spoken and written English; - Service minded attitude with a strong interest in working directly with users; - Familiar with processes related to Change/Configuration management; - For Microsoft COTS specialty:

5 Good knowledge of MS Windows Server and associated core enterprise services (Windows Server, workstation operating systems, active directory management, MS Exchange, MS Lync) - Installation, patching, administration, tuning, configuration, hardening/securing, troubleshooting; Knowledge of Windows Server 2012R2; DNS management; Group policy management; Experience with Microsoft Windows Server file and print services in an enterprise environment; Knowledge of and experience with System Center Configuration Manager, System Center Operation Manager, System Center Orchestrator, Microsoft Deployment toolset; Understanding of Remote Desktop Gateway Services; Remote App provisioning. - Profile 5A requires excellent knowledge and significant experience (e.g. 5+ years) in the discipline. The individual would normally be expected to have a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree but may compensate for a lack of formal education by extensive or unique experience. An individual at this level would be expected to have assisted senior staff on major projects in his field. - Profile 5B requires considerable seniority and experience (e.g. 10+ years) in the function, normally as Lead Staff on large and complex projects or been responsible for significant research work. The individual would be expected to have a minimum of a Masters Degree, if not a doctorate. If such educational level has not been attained, extensive or unique knowledge or experience would be required. Profile 6 (NATO Secret) x3 - Network/security Specialist(s) to provide technical support in the design, documentation and operation of project-related CIS, to be used at sea and shore. Must have a broad knowledge of CIS Security and advanced hands-on experience in the configuration of networking equipment and security-enforcing products. Potential short-term deployments on the NATO s research vessels, or in other places depending on projects related requirements (e.g. operational experimentation). Profile 6: Execute activities related to the CMRE s experimental and scientific IT infrastructure (SCINET), including but not limited to: Provide technical support in the design, documentation and operation of project-related CIS, to be used at sea and shore (e.g. temporary deployed laboratories, internal laboratories at CMRE). Assist in the capturing of user needs, information exchange requirements, and provide implementation of security solutions in accordance with the guidance received from the security authority and the CIS Provider. Provide hands-on contributions in the configuration of networking equipment and security-enforcing products. Support Centre project work ashore, during short-term deployments on the NATO s research vessels, Leonardo and Alliance, or in other places depending on projects related requirements (e.g. operational experimentation). Coordinate closely with IT Service Desk to maximize the efficiency between 1st and 2nd line support, with regard to the assigned area of responsibility. Remain up-to-date in ILAB technology and trends from an end-user perspective enabling state-of-the-art support to a scientific workforce. Performs other duties as may be required. - Deep knowledge of hardware installation (cabling, racking, labelling, upgrading, maintaining, troubleshooting); - Basic experience in supporting field work conducted by means of computing facilities installed on maritime platforms; - Industry Certification from CISCO at least equal to a CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or Relevant University Degree; - Security certifications, such as CISSP or equivalent; - Very good awareness and working experience of/with network protocols and equipment; - Knowledge about VPN technology;

6 - Experience supporting and troubleshooting complex Routed Network Environments; - Experience supporting and troubleshooting complex Switching Network Environments; - Experience in documentation of solutions, maintaining user / administration guides and step-by-step instructions; - Very good English (oral and written); - Practical experience in the use of modern concepts and accepted industry standards for configuration management, quality assurance and testing; - Familiar with a multi-national work environment Understanding of data-diode concepts; - Experience with industry standard network management tools (e.g. Solarwinds, Splunk, etc...); - Experience with other network devices (e.g. data diodes, SATCOM); - Experience with Operating in an Virtualized Network Environment; - Knowledge of the principles of command and control (C2) systems.
