4 Kapish Easy Link Release Notes Kapish Easy Link is the easiest way to provide internet style hyperlinks to your HPE Content Manager (HPE CM) documents and records. Embed Easy Links inside almost any application that supports the use of hyperlinks, such as Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, PDF documents, s, Web pages and even your company s Intranet; all the while enforcing HPE CM security and business rules. Kapish Easy Link is a client-side application deployed alongside the standard HPE CM client and provides an alternative way to access HPE CM records. It gives users one-click access to HPE CM records from within other documents, s, websites and more. Kapish Easy Link is simple to use and no technical coding is required to create links to HPE CM records. Users have different options when creating an Easy Link, they can set the link function to either: Edit, View, Show Properties, , View in HPE CM and even show the contents of Containers. They also have full control of the label of the link, with a choice of Record Number, Title or customising it to their specific requirements. All this and more is available in an easy-to-use interface that maintains full HPE CM access controls and security of the records. Terminology An Easy Link refers to a simple URL using the el:// protocol. Typically, in the format of el://<record- Number> e.g. el://g15/123. Kapish Easy Link 3.3 Kapish Easy Link 3.3 provides fixes for previously noted issues, in addition to delivering new and enhanced features based on feedback from existing Kapish Easy Link clients. 5 New Features in Kapish Easy Link 3.3 Support for HPE Records Manager 8.3 Kapish Easy Link 3.3 supports HPE Records Manager 8.3. The Software Compatibility Matrix should be considered before upgrading HPE Records Manager and Kapish Easy Link. Support for HPE Content Manager 9.0 Kapish Easy Link 3.3 supports HPE Content Manager 9.0. The Software Compatibility Matrix should be considered before upgrading HPE Content Manager and Kapish Easy Link. Support for Microsoft Office 2016 Kapish Easy Link 3.3 supports Microsoft Office The Software Compatibility Matrix should be considered before upgrading Microsoft Office and Kapish Easy Link. New default protocol Kapish Easy Link 3.3 has a new default protocol of EL://. By default all new Easy Links will be generated with a protocol of EL://. This change in protocol is due to the application name changes in Hewlett Packard Enterprise Content Manager. Kapish Easy Link now refers to its links with the EL:// protocol. In extension to this feature it is also possible to set your own unique protocol as a default and be recognised by Kapish Easy Link. 6 Enhanced Features in Kapish Easy Link 3.3 Installer Now Suggests Most Common Options Kapish Easy Link 3.3 now suggests the most common installation options as part of the Installation Process. The new WiX installer defaults to the suggested options for Kapish Easy Link..Net Framework Kapish Easy Link 3.3 now relies on a minimum system requirement of.net Default Installation Path Kapish Easy Link 3.3 has removed the TRIM reference from the default Installation Path and now suggests C:\Program Files\Kapish\Easy Link\. Edit and View Links take Focus Kapish Easy Link 3.3 now requests Edit and View Easy Links to take the screen focus and open on top of all other open windows. If it is unable to obtain focus, the application icon in the task bar will flash to show the user that Kapish Easy Link is trying to perform a particular task. Updates to Finding Datasets Kapish Easy Link 3.3 is now able to find records that aren t in the default HPE CM dataset. There were previously problems with datasets that contain Alphanumeric Dataset IDs which has been addressed in this latest release of Kapish Easy Link. Kapish Pty. Ltd. 8 Technical Information Upgrading to Kapish Easy Link 3.3 from versions prior to 3.0 All previous versions of Kapish Easy Link will be uninstalled automatically as part of the upgrade process to Kapish Easy Link 3.3. Licence Key Kapish Easy Link 3.3 requires a licence key to be entered. Upon installation the product will run in evaluation mode for 30 days, after which time Kapish Easy Link will be disabled if a new licence key is not entered. To obtain a licence key please contact Kapish. Upgrading to Kapish Easy Link 3.3 from version 3.0 All previous versions of Kapish Easy Link will be uninstalled automatically as part of the upgrade process to Kapish Easy Link 3.3. Licence Key If upgrading from Kapish Easy Link 3.0, the Internal HP TRIM location KapishTRIMEasyLink3 will already exist, and should not be removed. The Kapish Easy Link licence key does not need to be reentered if upgrading from Kapish Easy Link 3.0. HPE CM External Links When upgrading from any version of Kapish Easy Link prior to version 3.3. All external links must be updated to the new installation path and executable. Please see the Kapish Easy Link Installation & Configuration Guide for further information. Software Compatibility Matrix Please see the Kapish Easy Link 3.3 Software Compatibility Matrix for the recommended version of Kapish Easy Link install depending on the Operating System, version of HPE Content Manager and Microsoft Office your organisation is currently using. Existing Kapish customers can download the relevant Kapish Easy Link.msi file from Removal of Support Kapish Easy Link 3.3 is supported when running HP TRIM onwards.
