4 Kapish Excel Add-In Release Notes Overview of Kapish Excel Add-In The Kapish Excel Add-In inserts a tab on the ribbon in Microsoft Excel that allows for the insertion of HPE Content Manager (HPE CM) metadata into new and existing Excel Workbooks. The Kapish tab provides two distinct functions; the first enables a user to manually enter HPE CM metadata from the list of available fields into an Excel Workbook, including the header, footer or main body. The second provides the same functionality, but in addition automatically populates this information into Excel Workbooks through the use of templates. Templates can be preconfigured with HPE CM metadata fields situated in specific places in the template. These templates are stored in HPE CM and are available to users from within Microsoft Excel, facilitating quick and easy access to the correct versions of templates. Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 provides fixes for previously noted issues, in addition to delivering new and enhanced features based on feedback from existing Kapish Excel Add-In clients. 5 New Features in Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 Support for HPE Records Manager 8.3 Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 supports HPE Records Manager 8.3. The Software Compatibility Matrix should be considered before upgrading HPE Records Manager and Kapish Excel Add-In. Support for HPE Content Manager 9.0 Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 supports HPE Content Manager 9.0. The Software Compatibility Matrix should be considered before upgrading HPE Content Manager and Kapish Excel Add-In. Support for Microsoft Office 2016 Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 supports Microsoft Office The Software Compatibility Matrix should be considered before upgrading Microsoft Office and Kapish Excel Add-In. Support for Microsoft Windows 10 Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 supports Microsoft Windows 10. The Software Compatibility Matrix should be considered before upgrading Microsoft Office and Kapish Excel Add-In. New Icon Set Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 sees the introduction of a complete new icon set for the application. The redesign has created icons that follow the flat Microsoft 2016 style. 6 Logging Capabilities Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 introduces the ability to set different logging modes that record information about what processes are being carried out by the application. Log Level can be set to either: None, Normal or Verbose. None will affectively turn the logging off and Normal will be a basic collection of information. Verbose level is usually enabled specifically for troubleshooting because it will create large log files and can slow down performance. The Log File Path is the destination path of where the log file should be saved. It is possible to browse to the required folder or type it directly into the field. To see the existing log files, use the View Log Files button Location Details of Current User Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 brings the ability to insert metadata of the current logged in user. The special field is available via the Insert Metadata function on the Records tab. 7 Linked Workbooks Kapish Excel Add-In facilitates the management of Linked Workbooks, stored on both Local Disk Drives and HPE CM. The Kapish Excel Add-In Linked Workbooks component enables users to catalogue and save workbooks from Local Drives into HPE CM and maintain the relationship links. The Linked Workbook functionality also allows for direct access to Edit the other HPE CM Linked Workbooks without having to leave Microsoft Excel, they are all directly accessible from within the Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0. Customisable Global System Name Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 has a new global Administrator Setting that allows for customisation of the EDMS System Application Name, this is how the HPE CM product is referenced within the Kapish Excel Add-In application. This global setting was introduced to cater for all the different ways the system is referred to, such as TRIM / Records Manager / Content Manager. 8 Enhanced Features in Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0.Net Framework Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 now relies on a minimum system requirement of.net Framework. Metadata in the Headers and Footers Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 provides the ability to easily insert HPE CM metadata (properties) into the Headers and Footers of a Microsoft Excel Workbook. Inserting Metadata into the Headers and Footers of the Workbook is slightly different, as it isn t possible to insert the text directly. The field code must be copied and then pasted into the workbook header or footer. Users can right-click on the required metadata and select Copy Header/Footer Code to Clipboard. Once they navigate to the Header/Footer, they can paste the HPE CM field code and then update the fields so the CM Properties will display in either the Header or Footer. Kapish Pty. Ltd. 9 Features Removed from Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 Support for Office 2003 Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 see the removal of support for Microsoft Office Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 will not load in Excel 2003 as all the code for the toolbar infrastructure has been removed from the application and therefore will have nothing to load if the program is installed. 10 Technical Information Upgrading from version prior to 3.0 When upgrading to Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 from versions prior to Kapish Excel Add-In 3.0, all global settings (including Favourite and Excluded fields) will need to be reconfigured by a HPE CM Administrator after successful installation of Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0. If you are installing Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 with HP RM 8.1 and above a new Kapish Licence Key needs to be generated. Please contact Kapish Support to obtain the necessary Licence Key. The template suite used by previous versions will be available to users after successful installation of Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0. Upgrading from version 3.x When upgrading from Kapish Excel Add-In 3.0 or above, the licence information and global settings will either need to be reconfigured or transferred to the new location. Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 introduced a new Location KapishExcelAddIn to store the licence information and global settings against. Entering the licence key in the Kapish Excel Add-In About Window will create the new location. After which it is possible to reconfigure the global settings OR copy the Notes of KapishTRIMExcelAddin2 and paste them into KapishExcelAddIn to transfer all the existing global settings. Local User settings also have a new name in the registry. Therefore, users will either need to reconfigure their settings locally or have IT send out a script to copy or rename the registry key for each user so that the existing favourites etc copy across. Software Compatibility Please see the Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 Software Compatibility Matrix for the recommended version of Kapish Excel Add-In to install depending on the Operating System, version of HPE Content Manager (HPE CM) and Microsoft Office your organisation is using. Existing Kapish customers can download the Kapish Excel Add-In.msi file from Removal of Support Kapish Excel Add-In 4.0 is supported when running HP TRIM onwards.
