2 The 12 th ASEAN CIO CSO Summit & Awards October 13 th 16 ABOUT CIO CSO ASEAN AWARDS The 12 th ASEAN CIO CSO Awards 16 (Chief Information Officer and Chief Security Officer) the one-of-a-kind event in ASEAN organized by International Data Group (IDG), collaborated and endorsed by Vietnam Government Information Security Commission, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), Ministry of Public Sercurity, Ministry of Science and Technology; supported by Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT), NiDA (National ICT Development Authority) Cambodia, (ISC) 2 (International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium), ISPA.my (Information Security Professional Association of Malaysia) Malaysia. The CIO CSO Awards looks for and honors outstanding individuals who are responsible for information management and security in order to ensure business continuity, minimize business risks and maximize business opportunities in the enterprises, governmental and civic organizations. Members of Board of Judges (BoJ) who are representatives of government, social organizations and ICT community; IT/IS experts and leading IT/IS corporations are responsilbe for looking for and nominating potential CIOs and CSOs. Qualified individuals from enterprises, government and civic organizations may also apply by themselves with the confirmation of their direct supervisor or chief in the organization. To participate in ASEAN CIO CSO Awards, nominees/applicants are required to submit information related to a particular information technology and information security initiative (as described in Nomination Form). This includes general description, benefits for the organization and the community, role of the CIO CSO and innovative contributions in implementing such information management and security. Nominees/Applicants could also provide more information related to their projects as illustrative pictures or videos. The Board of Judges will consider that information to decide the inclusion in the CIO CSO Index for 16. Member(s) of the Board of Judges will directly interview nominees/applicants and verify the nominee information at their workplace in order to select and honor outstanding CIOs and CSOs for 16. The ceremony is scheduled to be held on October 13 th, 16 in Hanoi with the presence of government officials, IT/Security community and mass media. The representatives of CIO CSO 16 winners are also invited to have a speech and share their experience at ASEAN CIO CSO Summit 16 on October 13 th, 16 in Hanoi. Page 2 of 7

4 The 12 th ASEAN CIO CSO Summit & Awards October 13 th 16 EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR ASEAN CIO CSO AWARDS 16 ASEAN CIO CSO Awards 16 acknowledges the improvement and development on planning, building up strategies, strategic vision, implementing and improving information security in order to ensure information and data protection as well as the working process in organization and leadership rather than being a basic technology-oriented Award. Besides, BoJ highly appreciates the innovation, improvement of candidates which bring real benefits to their organizations. I. EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR CIOS Selection criteria are applied to review all application groups. The maximum score is 0. The score is based on the importance of each criterion. 1. Scale of Organization/ Business to assess the complexity of the candidate s job. 2. Candidate s qualification and experience to assess the role and influence of the candidate. 3. Social responsibility To assess responsibilities and influences of the candidate to the community 4. Projects led and implemented by the candidate To evaluate capability of candidate on design, management on IT project. Criteria 2-a. Qualification- Experience- Achievement 2-b. Strategic vision- Innovation Cooperation 3-a. Influences to the community 3-b. CIO s responsibilities to social issues, environment and human being 4-a. Project scale (to assess the complexity of project) 4-b. Innovative aspect of the project (to assess the goal, innovation and influence of the project) 4-c. Projects results (to assess the effective results of project according to its goals and requirements) Score 50 0 Page 4 of 7

5 II. EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR CSOS The 12 th ASEAN CIO CSO Summit & Awards October 13 th Scale of Organization/ Business to assess the complexity of the candidate s job. Criteria Score 2. Candidate s qualification and experience to assess the role and influence of the candidate. 2-a. Qualification- Experience- Achievement 2-b. Strategic vision- Innovation Cooperation 3. Social responsibility To assess responsibilities and influences of the candidate to the community 3-a. Influences to the community 3-b. CSO s responsibilities to social issues, environment and human being 4. Positive impact on activities of organization: Be the key role on setting up, delivering and implementing the regulation system, standard operating procedures (SOP), information security policies for the organization and its system (subsidiaries, departments,...) contribute to the overall success based on goals and strategies of the organization; proactive and efficient in co-ordinating, orientating and implementing large scale information security programs. 5. Information security performances and consequences: CSO is the person who implementing some of activities listed below: Establish and implement appropriate information security strategies corresponding to the organization criterion and compliance with the legal requirements. Monitor, recognize and manage information security risks in order to maintain the annual activities of the organization Design, implement and manage the information security programs. Monitor and evaluate information security activities Establish and manage the capabilities on taking action against the incidents and recovering system. Manage the recovery procedures and maintain business activities after vulnerabilities 30 0 Page 5 of 7

6 III. SELECTION PROCEDURE The 12 th ASEAN CIO CSO Summit & Awards October 13 th 16 The selection procedure of CIOs & CSOs is based on the nomination and face-to-face interview. Board of Judges will receive the Nomination/Application Letter from nominators and applicants to consider and look out for prospective nominees/applicants for ASEAN CIO CSO Awards 16. Members of Board of Judges will also nominate potential nominees/applicants. The deadline for submitting the Nomination/Application Letter is in September, 16. All of overdue nomination will be only accepted when agreed by Chairman of Board of Judges or Board of Organization. Board of Judges will evaluate nominees/applicants through information provided in the Nomination/Application Letter ensuring that the nominee/applicant achieved distinguishing performance in information security, therefore, contributing to the enterprise/organization and the community in an effective manner. For those with Nomination/Application Letters, Board of Judges will require detailed information as guided in Nomination/Application Form. The Nomination Form is the document by which Board of Judges will evaluate to consider for outstanding ASEAN CIO CSO Awards 16. The Nomination/Application Form can be filled by the nominator or applicant or directly interviewed by the assistance team. The deadline for submitting the Application Form is September 5th, 16. Nomination/Application Form will be verified (before the Awards) to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness against provided requirements. Accepted Forms will indicate that the nominee/applicant is eligible for the ASEAN CIO CSO Awards 16. Face-to-face interview or Video-Conference to prospective nominees/applicants in the CIO CSO shortlist for 15 will be prepared and announced by Board of Secretary. The ASEAN CIO CSO Awards 15 will be given at The 12 th ASEAN CIO CSO Summit in October 13 th, 16 at Melia Hotel, Hanoi City together with the Gala Dinner. IV.
