8 MEM-4 Affiliate 4.2 A SHARE Affiliate will be categorized by one of the following types: 1. Affiliate Corporate A corporation in the enterprise technology ecosystem 2. Affiliate Individual An individual interested in participating in the enterprise technology ecosystem 3. Affiliate Retiree An individual formerly employed in the enterprise technology ecosystem and wishes to provide expertise or mentoring to others currently in the enterprise technology ecosystem 4. Affiliate University An institution of higher education sanctioned by the appropriate accrediting body that provides education within the enterprise technology ecosystem 5. Affiliate Secondary School An institution of secondary education sanctioned by the appropriate accrediting body that provide education within the enterprise technology ecosystem 6. Affiliate Faculty A faculty member of an institution that is eligible to an Affiliate University or Affiliate Secondary School 7. Affiliate Student A student at an institution that is eligible to be an Affiliate University or Affiliate Secondary School registered for at least ½ time in the current or future term. 8. Affiliate Local User Group A local computer user group with an interest in enterprise technology ecosystem

The Project intends to increase collaboration across the mainframe community and to develop shared tool sets and resources. Furthermore, the Project seeks to involve the participation of academic institutions to assist in teaching and education the mainframe Linux engineers and developers of tomorrow.

18 Industry Participation Click International to User edit Group Master Council title style The International User Group Council (IUGC) was a federation of information technology user groups represented by their Presidents. SHARE and GSE are trying to resurrect it. The IUGC was created to enhance the effectiveness of individual user group members world-wide. The IUGC existed to serve its members and be the leader in user group relations with IBM and with the Information Technology Second industry. To level enable each of the member groups to operate for the greatest benefit of their members in a cooperative fashion, the IUGC provided: A regular forum to exchange strategic concerns and share experience between its members; A regular forum to identify and understand common issues and to discuss differing approaches to "common problems"; A vehicle for providing mutual support by means of endorsement of: positions and concerns, exchange visits of members of the groups' management, speaker exchange, publication exchange; A coordination point for selected (joint) work. The IUGC acted as THE advisory council for IBM regarding validation of new world-wide strategies, business practices, and technology offerings, as well as on identified common "Matters of Concern".
